Very useful tool to quickly visualize concepts, collecting Ideas and making mind maps

  • November 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use quickly draw and connect shapes with text, navigate and zoom. Creating diagrams with miro is much easier and faster than doing it in, e.g., PowerPoint.
The performance is, overall, excellent (i.e., as good as can be expected from a browser-based application). It has improved since I have first used it. The templates help to get started with specific needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not easy to create elements that have a common font size. The font size adjusts depending on the element types. For example, post-its vary font size by default to fill the shape. They can be set to have a fixed font-size, but this also depends on the dimensions of the shape. What I would rather have is an option to have an absolute font size (optionally with the shape adjusting in size to it).
This might not be a problem for miro, where people are used to zoom in and out, but definitely is for exports (e.g., PDF, PowerPoint), where you only have one zoom level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
* Visualize ideas and concepts
* Quick planning (visualize flows and dependencies in a project)

You get much quicker to a usable result than with other tools (e.g., PowerPoint) because the handling of shapes and connections is much more intuitive (and just works!). People were able to use miro without any introduction.

Easy to quickly build visual stories and share with colleagues

  • November 11, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
It's nice that it is actually one big canvas that you can fill, like an endless whiteboard.
I use it to create roadmaps, create an overview of my research and present Sprint reviews to stakeholders (really like the Jira plugin for this)
What do you dislike about the product?
In the beginning, I was struggling a bit with the navigation, moving around the canvas was such a pain I almost quit using Miro. But then I found out I had to change the navigation from 'mouse' to 'trackpad' and it was way better!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First problem I solve is making research easy to share and explain to stakeholders; since it's easy to add images and links, you get a good overview quite fast. Besides that we also solved the problem of non-interactive sprint review sessions by using Miro; it's fun to ask people to leave comments on sticky notes with emoji during the meeting
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use plugins like Jira and Figma to create an easy overview of everything you're working on. Tip: use it as well for your team retrospectives, it's fun to collaborate, add pictures and everyone can directly contribute, my team really likes it.

A very useful tool for workshops and trainings

  • November 10, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Nearly infinite space, accessible to partners and trainees. Endless possibilities to organize your content. A useful tool indeed!
What do you dislike about the product?
The ramp-up for new users; the possibility to have short intro videos also in French; and sometimes, as boards become heavier (with a lot of elements), the limitations of speed in charging/moving the board around
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it to train conservationists in the Conservation Standards and to organize and manage meetings to evaluate projects and design new ones. It works better than a real paper board. All is recorded, easily transformable into pdf or images. I think I will use it once we go back to in-person meetings ;)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is really a good and complete solution for online group work

Creativity suitable for all

  • November 10, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
An endless virtual whiteboard for discussing visual projects by adding any kind of object and file with all your creativity.
You can easily take notes on sticky notes and comment in mini-chat. You can create presentations, prototypes, CJ/CX map and share and co-work with your colleagues from anywhere in the world.
It is very user-friendly from begininning and you have a lot of templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could be useful (for now) to add some new features as:
- connector line jumps (like in Visio workflows);
- folders to manage different versioning of a board;
- a document management approach
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro with my colleagues (we are almost 120 users) and for now it is a powerful way to share our creativity on our projects without to share a lot of documents.
The endless whiteboard allows to have an E2E vision on our processes (in particular on CJ Maps and Prototypes) and it is easy to share in our meetings and co-creation brainstorming.
The user friendly graphic allows to everyone to focus on contents by inspiring his/her creativity

The tool I always dreamed of

  • November 10, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In Miro, it is possible to visualize very complex correlations in a short time. At the same time, it is possible to be used by a five-year-old. When we are doing our workshops, people who are new to the tool mostly have to be trained for a few minutes before making their contributions.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't easy to create seamless layouts for PDF export. There is always something slightly off, and text boxes are not versatile enough. But you have to keep in mind that the tool is not made fortis task, and we love it for its simplicity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to structure my thoughts, to work within our team, and to have presentations and workshops with clients. Working has become more manageable, and one benefit is that the boards will stay online, and you can revisit them anytime.

Flexible and full of great features

  • November 09, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro's flexibility and range of functions is very helpful. I can tailor it to what I / my team need easily and I love the custom template feature as keeps my work consistent with less effort than having to recreate my template each time.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about miro is that inviting people on to my board means they can make updates, whereas it would be good to give people read-only access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helps me to resolve decisions problems, showcase a piece of analysis in a way that is easier to understand, communicate plans out and gather my ideas.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Browse through the templates and videos to learn about what you can do

Miro is fun to use, easy to set up and makes collaboration work a bit more exciting!

What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of the designs and templates. It is so simple and intuitive that my colleagues and students often do not need any instruction to start a task. I also like that the board is expandable - it gives a nice feeling of freedom when I am working on a bigger project. The design is very intuitive and similar enough to other applications we are used to, making it easier for us to just dive in and start collaborating without initial instructions and tutorials. The templates also provide ideas and inspirations for other ways of utilising Miro at work. One example would be using a kanban board system for my work related tasks and creating a to-do list. I had not heard of the kanban board system brfore but the template gave me the hint!
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel that there can be more templates to choose from, or maybe a few colour themes per template. I often use postit notes but I sometimes run out of colours to use for my team members. I would also like to group post it notes onto cards when I use the Kanban board. That would be something I do in real life whiteboard to choose which tasks to work on. The idea of the card is wonderful though - I have been using the card to sort out ideas and keep track of updates and notes to myself for any todo's.

I would also like to be able to use freehand functions a little better. Especially during a meeting I often find myself wanting to quickly draw a diagram or chart or timeline with my hands to explain what I am trying to show. I used to use a whilteboard during in-person meetings but if Miro can be my digital whiteboard I would appreciate it very much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using the miro boards for lots of seminar tasks with university students and business clients. It works especially well with brainstorming practices. Most of the time the students are able to see the visual outcome of their work and it is satisfying to see! It can be slightly tricky for older users but I suppose that is the case with any technology. I have also started using the kanban board for my work related projects - it gives me a sense of calm to know that my todo list is always available online.

Collaboration work online had always been a slight inconvenience before we found Miro. There was always one person sharing a page and taking notes while others just had to watch the note taker and give verbal instructions. The ease of not having to ask everyone to install the application or log on is benefitial too. Just sharing a link is so much quicker and easier. As a result more of my colleagues and clients are using Miro as guests and trying it out firsthand before joining as a member themselves.

I am also using Miro's mindmap template instead of creating Powerpoint slides for inhouse meetings. I create a mindmap of topics I want to talk about then share the link to the board during my presentation. It is much quicker to create than Powerpoint slides, it keeps everyone on the same page, and it is almost like sharing my thought process and mind to the attendees. The mindmap allows me to show the attendees if I am talking about a main topic or a small addition to the idea without having to explain.

Perfect for both team collaboration and personal use!

  • November 07, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Miro is intuitive to learn and, incorporates ready-to-use templates, and can be linked with G-Suite applications. I prefer Miro to other solutions because of the innovative interface design.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only inconvenient I perceive is when using it with my free personal account and being limited to 3 active boards only. Though I understand this is how the business model is set up, it would be great to have access to 5 boards!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems I solve with Miro is intuitive mind-mapping and visual brainstorming both when used for personal use for processes structuring, as well as when collaborating in team and having access to all the data in one place, in a great visual way!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure to have a first-team space to go through together through all the features of Miro, and explain where to find resources related to platform usage in order to make most of the platform!

Limitless whiteboard for most every team collaboration need!

  • November 04, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how the Miro Boards are genuinely limitless whiteboards - you can keep adding, creating, and everything updates in real-time. There are tons of features embedded - planning poker, emojis, templates, stickies, etc. It makes my work and my team collaboration FUN! The Miro team is also very accessible for support needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can take some time for someone new to Miro to learn all of its features and functions and move around smoothly. Luckily, Miro offers "academy" classes to assist with training. Now and then, I have performance issues, but it could be a function of my work computer/servers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I utilize Miro for customer journey mapping work. I can map out the journey, understand pain points, brainstorm potential causes and solutions, prioritize solutions, story map, and create new designs all within one place.

The best solution for collaborative meetings

  • November 04, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Connected to many other tools that we use (Jira, Google docs). Makes it actionable.
Simplified Screen captures of any URL
The new meeting feature completes the solution for any type of meetings now.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you create a lot of different boards like me, your account looks like a mess very soon.
I'd love to have other ways than folders to organize my space. Tags for instance would be useful.
I'd also love a 'master' feature. Like in Power point. Change the layout on the master and the changes applies everywhere.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organize thoughts in group.
Increase the quality of ideas through collaboration.
Solving problems in a fun but organized way.
Better agenda and actionability of meetings
