Simplifying Planning and Describing with Miro

  • May 03, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has significantly improved the way I approach planning and describing complex projects, making it easier to visualize and implement processes. The platform's templates, diagrams, and code blocks have been particularly beneficial for my team.

With Miro, sharing and discussing project implementations in real-time has become effortless, allowing colleagues to contribute and refine ideas seamlessly. For instance, during a multifaceted project that spanned multiple sprints, Miro served as a reliable source of truth that kept everyone on track despite ongoing changes and fixes.

Integrations like PlantUML further enhances productivity, enabling me to effectively describe and present various processes. Overall, Miro has become an invaluable tool that simplifies planning and collaboration, helping my team achieve success in our projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Miro has generally been an excellent tool, there was a minor issue I encountered when using it on an iPad with a pencil. However, this could be attributed to my drawing skills rather than a flaw in the platform itself. Apart from this isolated experience, Miro has consistently met my expectations and facilitated efficient planning and collaboration for my team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro is solving various problems related to planning, describing, and collaborating on complex projects. It has allowed me to easily visualize and implement processes while providing a clear and structured representation of concepts. By offering real-time collaboration, Miro enables my team to share ideas, discuss implementations, and contribute to the project effortlessly.

The platform's templates, diagrams, and code blocks have been particularly beneficial, while integrations like PlantUML have further enhanced productivity. For instance, Miro played a crucial role in the success of a multifaceted project that spanned multiple sprints, keeping everyone on track despite ongoing changes and fixes.

The benefits of using Miro include improved communication and collaboration, streamlined workflows, and increased productivity. It has become an invaluable tool that simplifies the planning and execution of our projects, ultimately contributing to our team's success.

    Industrial Automation

Versatile information display option

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great compatibility with other programs. Microsoft Teams and Office tie ins work well.
Duplicated (copied in) data means no location links to maintain.
Large number of templates that can be leveraged to kick start your layouts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes you want to preserve links to the data and be able to automatically update.
This is not a strength of the platform as generally speaking the data become separate from the source when pulled in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All our team can access the boards either independently or together.
This enables everyone to work on items when it is best for them.

Having everyone able to provide input or comments directly in the Miro boards means that there is less indirect / administrative load.

Platform that is reasonably easy to understand while offering a lot of customizable potential.

What do you like best about the product?
Quite easy to understand, very easy to collaborate with team members. And the creative potential is very high compared to a lot of other collaboration platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had even more templates. Especially templates that stand in relation with AGILE workflows and ways of working. E.a. to support SCRUM refinements, SCRUM reviews etc.
Also a wide variety of templates for Roadmaps in all shapes and sizes could be great, as this is what it is used a lot for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem it is solving for me and the team/company, is that it allows some processes and collaborative tasks to be done much simpler and online.

Processes that are sometimes difficult to visualize in a meeting can usually be created in MIRO. With your own creativity being the limitation. Besides that it is great to improve interactiveness. By having team members actively write and move things on the board it creates a much more active session

Great for virtual collaboration

What do you like best about the product?
This tool is simple and easy to use, offering a wide variety of board templates. It helps save time and provides great inspiration.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to use AI to help summarise ideas on stickies. Maybe this feature is already available, but it could be that my organisation has blocked access to it?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool is useful for ideation and supports virtual collaboration.

    Building Materials

Easy to use and adaptable to needs, great for diagrams and mindmaps

  • May 03, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love using Miro to map projects at the discovery phase, to create diagrams, mindmaps and put together all information gathered to kick off a project.
More possibilities than Visio.
What do you dislike about the product?
Spend too much time formating diagrams. Templates never work for me and i find them not easy to adapt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used beforehand powerpoints or virtuals whiteboards but i was always limited by the format. With MIRO, there are no restrictions and i can add as much as informaion i want as i move forward with my thinking and projects.

Set of tools that help you to drive your ideations precisely

  • May 03, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility that I do have depending on the specific needs for each ideation/brainstorm.

It is really quick (to define and design). Mainly about resizing and copypasting.

Create UX flows there is really smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it takes too long to load and even may crash if you do have a screen full of wireframes.

I might expect different post-its forms/sizes (this is the main thing that I use).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Drive the discussion with the stakeholders along the different designs, journeys and the overall experience of our game at the same time with multiple people. Specially having a clear idea from an end-to-end experience.

Miro for successful collaboration.

What do you like best about the product?
Providing a central source of truth with various mediums to share information and bringing stakeholders up-to-speed.

Excellent for project collaboration, feedback sessions and brainstorming.

Love being able to easily add images, texts, slides and post-it notes.

Great templates!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes hard to navigate around boards. Functions can be glitchy at times.

When inviting new users to group sessions, they can be overwhelmed by the range of functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides an alternative to project stakeholders who would normally sift through various Excel and Word docs for project onboarding and collaboration.

Makes it easy to gain measurable feedback (votes and post-it notes) quickly. Makes remote working incredibly easy.

    E-Learning

The magic of whiteboarding with collaborators anywhere in the world

  • May 03, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that we are able to collaborate in a creative, playful way even when we are not physically in the same room. Having the option to create individual workspaces on the same board and then come together to review each other's ideas works so well for my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to see more colours available in the post-its - sometimes we run out of unique colours and that restricts our ability to theme information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work in a way that encourages loads of idea sharing and being able to jot ideas down on post-its and then move them around and have the board evolve as our ideas do, makes the process collaborative and creative even when we are not all in the same room.

    Nitin N.

Its one of the best collaborative tools around, which is easy to use and run with entire team.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to work with.
It can be used as a repository.
A tremendous collaborative tool with tool ready to use templates
the zoom in zoom out feature is best with quick sync
What do you dislike about the product?
At times takes 30second and more for sync when multiple people are using it
Needs high-speed internet for usage, best usage at the office, but would be challenged to use from mobile internet
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lack of collaboration: Miro allows team members to collaborate and work together on projects, regardless of their location. This helps to improve communication and break down silos.

Inefficient meetings: With Miro, teams can conduct effective and efficient meetings. Miro's digital whiteboard allows teams to capture ideas, organize information, and make decisions in real-time.

The Best Digital Whiteboarding Tool

  • May 02, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am a huge fan of InVision Freehand and use it inextricably in my work as a product development professional. I started using it during pandemic and found, to my surprise, it is an amazing digital replacement for a whiteboard. I use it to take notes, gather, organize and review visuals for many different apps/websites and brands we research when design new apps and websites, and to do low-fidelity sketches for the early stages of product design. We also use it to better articulate product features, requirements and bugs to developers on our team. Lastly, we use it to map out high level product architecture and detailed information architecture when creating products.

I have tried other tools, like Miro, and I find them to be too "heavy." I like how Freehand is so lightweight and easy to pick up and run with. We've also used it for client brainstorms and interactive feedback/collaboration sessions with remote and in-person team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that they changed the colors!
Quick keys could be improved slightly (though they are pretty good as-is).
WORK OFFLINE is the biggest missing feature in Freehand! I work on it on airplanes a lot, and a few times the dicey airplane connection has messed up my work.

Otherwise, I'm hardcore Team Freehand!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives me quick tools to create and iterate on low-fidelity app screens and experiences; a great tool for visual design/competitor/branding research; and a great remote/hybrid team collaboration tool.
