Great collaboration tool

  • May 30, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The breadth of capabilities that Miro gives you to collaboration with online teams is great! We would be lost without it for things like whiteboarding, retros, team building, planning etc
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing is confusing and there are multiple ways to share boards depending on the set up so regularly we end up with people with different levels of access with little way of working out why they can view but not comment or edit. This makes it very difficult to feel confident in using it with a new team or new boards as you worry about getting into a meeting and having to spend 10 minutes trying to get everyone access sorted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A space for multiple people to contribute to at once for various reasons.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is simple and intuitive. Most of the times, the options and functionalities that appear close to where I am working, are the ones that I was actually going to need. Miro is also very fast and responsive as if I was working locally. It is also great form teamwork. This is actually my favourite feature: team mebers can follow you very easily, which makes it a great tool also for presentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have more icons and shapes available in the free version, but I understand that nice icons and shapes cost money, so it is ok that we have to pay for them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes it easy to create effective schematic representations of workflows, organization diagrams and system architectures. This allows me to add these representations into documents, slides presentations and in interactive meetings.

Helps streamline thought processes of users

  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I used the solution for mind mapping. I was learning machine learning on my own. There was a lot of information to remember, and I was struggling with it, so I used mind mapping. I think I used it for customer journey mapping for process flow.

What is most valuable?

The tool's use was not a very industry-specific utilization. It was used at a personal level. A personal level of use cannot be measured with the industry benefits.

What needs improvement?

There were no requirements from my side to explore to figure out whether I needed a particular connector or anything because it was for personal use. I didn't have any other industry-related needs related to the tool.

There should be fewer updates in Miro. I don't see the need to have updates in the product every other month or every other day.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have experience with Miro for years. I used it as a single person or as a single user.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In terms of stability, I have never seen the product fail. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The tool's scalability feature does not need to be used since I only use it.

How are customer service and support?

The tool is very user-friendly, so there is no need for any customer support. To describe Miro's user-friendly nature, I would say that when you buy a mobile phone and want to install an app, you never go to customer service for help. You can go to the App Store and get the job done.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase is simple and straightforward.

For the product's installation phase, all you have to do is that you need to sign-in to use the tool. You just sign in, and then you can see the templates. You choose the templates as per what you want and start using them.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Though there is a need to make payments towards the license in charges associated with the product, for my use case, I got the tool for free. The product's price is low. Monthly and yearly subscriptions are available when it comes to the licensing part of the product. I know that the product will be available at a discounted rate if you buy the annual subscription package from Miro.

What other advice do I have?

There was no need for me to use the tool's integration capabilities. From a ground level, I use the tool to prepare a mind map based on my own thoughts, so I don't see any value in the product.

The tangible benefits I have experienced from the implementation of the product stem from the fact that a lot of thought processes are involved, and it also streamlines thought processes. The template helped me to define a lot of functionalities, and understand the functionalities of each vertical.

Everything is easy in the product. I have experience with the free version of the solution, so I am not sure about the pricing. Even if the pricing part is considered for the solution, I feel it is really cheap and affordable.

When I used to use the product in the past, GenAI was not a part of the tool. AI is not required everywhere. Just because AI is available, it doesn't mean that it has to be everywhere and it is not the right approach. AI probably provides some suggestions to help users.

The mobile version looks easier for me. The product offers desktop and mobile versions.

The value derived from the use of the product around the fact that the thought process gets streamlined, and you will feel well-organized using the product.

I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

the review by a student using Miro to organize the tasks with my members in my laboratory

  • May 27, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is the essential tool for my lab life. I literally use it everyday.
I believe there are two benefits to use Miro compared to the traditional whiteboard. The fitst one is tobe able to share and edit boards with others together on online. The other one is we can use as wide as we want although the traditional whiteboard limit the space.
In terms of UI, everyone can get used to using MIro easily.
Customer Support is also reliable because they changed my account to the educational plan immediately when I sent the photo of the student card.
What do you dislike about the product?
To edit or to add board, the signup is required.
Although it might not be the problem of Miro, the whole board is added when I try to embed a specific frame in a board.
It's my first time to know that Miro can integrate with storages such as Google drives so I will try using it next time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helped me a lot to organize the situation and tasks in my labratory.
the function of embeding the powerpoint slides, mindmap and kanban tools are very useful.

Excellent tool for Agile Project Management and also for managing sprint related ceremonies

  • May 27, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Miro for almost the past couple of months, and there are a couple of things which we like and appreciate as a team:

1. Entire team and easily coordinate and sprint ceremonies like - a retrospective, and requirement gathering.
2. Everyone can contribute together at the same time, without any hassle
3. It has a lot of inbuilt by default templates available, which we can easily use to take the aspiration and accordingly update as per our use.
4. People can use different colours, and shapes and link to associated activities for better communication and transparency between the stakeholders and team members.
5. We have used it at the enterprise level to run the 'Scrum of Scrum' meetings, where most of the Scrum masters were coming to discuss things beforehand.
6. It is easily coupled with the JIRA tickets and also with the confluence.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, it becomes difficult to use the Miro to write anything as the UI doesn't allow you to perform so many actions altogether.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are doing the following things on MIRO -

1. Requirement Gathering, with the help of Mindmaps
2. Performing Sprint Retrospective
3. Doing the Product Management Roadmap

Overall, it benefits us in doing collaborations and making effective and transparent communication between the team and all the stakeholders.
