Best crawling platform
What do you like best about the product?
Apify is a scalable and robust platform to run crawlers and other jobs. Their documentation, technical support and user experience are amazing and it's pleasure to delegate crawling complexity to Apify.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if there were more granular packages in pricing. The step between personal and team pricing should be closer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can enormously scale our crawlers and be able to crawl content from sources around the world. We can use also proxies and see logs and statisticks about every job.
The best news letter that’s in my inbox
What do you like best about the product?
I like how it's just not about one thing. What is there not to like apify? That's what I thought there isn't any you can't like about apify!!! There is no comparison
What do you dislike about the product?
I love everything about apify and it's perfect don't change anything about it cause if you do you would be like everyone else and that's sad 😔 so don't change
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The simple fact that your even asking this question means your starting to be like everyone else.
Best solution for automated scraping
What do you like best about the product?
Before APIfy I had used most existing software available for developing scrapers and crawlers, such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, etc., so I was quite familiar with scraping technology. Using APIfy allows me to focus on the scraper itself, and while there is some time spent upfront learning how the platform works, the investment is well worth it due to the time saved during development.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall APIfy is exactly how I would have made it if I could have. However, there are still some things that can be improved, such as making the web console easier to use and integrating more intelligence in the tools, such as automatically detecting sites that block scrapers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently developing a prototype that will scrape important information from the user's social media profile. By using APIfy, I can reach proof-of-concept faster and spend more time fixing bugs.
Apify is cool online shop with scrapers
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Apify is making scraping available for non-devs people and how it is making easy and fun for devs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss python support. With it, I could contribute more as well as the rest of the huge python scraping community
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have no problems with Apify. As a benefit I see nice UI in scraping console and nice scraping result output in several formats.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don`t be afraid to use Apify even if you are not a developer. And definitely try it if you are a dev.
Apify
What do you like best about the product?
The layout of the website and the fact that it's easy to find the info you looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
the number next to career doesn't line up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the youtube scarper works well
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's great and works
Apify is a strong platform for advanced crawling/scraping.
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Apify was their integrated system (Im an engineer) -- I loved their commandline utiities, it made development and testing a breeze. 2nd to their tooling was their customer support. They have fantastic support.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't like the amount of domain knowledge I needed to have in order to get started. What they had me do in code (in some places) I wish I could have also done via GUI on the website (like setting up advanced proxies, or storing data in a data warehouse) -- I wanted just my crawlers to be aware of the page and to abstractly send data for storage, not set the entire thing up in code! That said, it wasn't that big of a deal and it was made a cakewalk with the help of their devs/support team who walked me through it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to crawl various websites, in a throttled and controlled manner, save the data, and then do data post-processing on it. Apify removed a lot of barriers to us getting our data.
Most convenient web scraping solution available
What do you like best about the product?
Apify offers a full suite of automated web scraping solutions. Not only do they provide a bunch of awesome open-source scrapers (e.g. for Google Maps), they also provide a cloud platform for which you can actually run these scrapers on top of. This saves users a lot of hassle. They also deal with all of the nitty gritty of web scraping, including IP rotation, which is really important.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes some time to understand the range of services and products they offer, but it's well worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am scraping local business information from Apify. It saves me a lot of time and energy from doing it myself.
Web Scraping - Simplified
What do you like best about the product?
The scripts available for use on Apify's marketplace are great. I extended the functionality of their scraper for my clients doing research in the real estate market. To have written the program myself would have taken a lot of time - the actor had a great foundation for my client's use case and saved me a lot of development time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only "caveat" is that I run my scripts on a schedule - this can get expensive due to the compute time involved. But, when you factor in the time I save developing and maintaining the applications, it really is a moot point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're scraping real estate information using Apify. It does it quickly, efficiently, and gives my clients the information they want at a low cost. The scripts are easy to extend and add additional functionality to.
Apify is a lead webscraping platform
What do you like best about the product?
Apify platform provides a very versatile and wide range of services for web scraping. A strong and convenient SDK, cool web UI for visualizing datasets, communication with clients/developers, scrapers overview and configuration etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
From a dev perspective, I'd say that it's high time for Apify team to organize all the SDK best-practice materials for overcoming website anti-scraping technologies into some kind of a separate documentation block.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apify allows to set up scrapers for getting solid data from various resources such as websites, APIs in any kind of convenient format: excel/csv/HTML tables, JSON, pdf etc. Also, this is a great tool for making automation workers. A cool web interface also adds a lot of cool features for visualizing all this stuff along with extensive API possibilities.
Scrape baby scrape!
What do you like best about the product?
It's really easy to sign up and get started with the $5 credit. I played around on the website, trying out a couple of the scrapers, and found one that I think I'll be using moving forward.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the language on the website can be a bit jargon-y for someone like me who is new to the world of "runs" and "builds"; but the platform does have a fair amount of information about all of this, and each app has an info page that I recommend checking out. Developers seem to be easy enough to reach out to about their products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm thinking about building out a dataset for qualitative and computational analysis. That can require a small amount of high quality sampled data OR a large amount of structured data. The former is clearly possible with Apify: you can get a small sample of data. The latter might require some more $ and commitment, which is something I'm thinking about doing.
