Unlike other web data providers, Apify has a large store of managed tools that scrape websites and deliver parsed data over API. There's no need to build custom web crawlers, handle blocking, and other typical issues. Our professional services team can assist customers with migration of their own scrapers to Apify. TCO and time-to-value are significantly lower with Apify than building in-house.

Great integration with my stack, powerful, developer-friendly web scraping at Scale
Clean API, Predictable JSON, and Time-Saving Pre-Built Actors
Best-in-Class Scraping Platform with a Stellar Actor Ecosystem and Deployment Pipeline
The platform takes care of the painful parts of scraping at scale proxy management, browser orchestration, rate limiting, and retry logic so I can stay focused on the actual extraction logic. The pay-per-result pricing model for Store actors is a genuine differentiator: it lets me monetize the tools I build while giving users a low-friction way to try them.
The API and SDK are well-documented and consistent, and the recently added MCP server support makes it trivial to plug scrapers into AI agent workflows. I run 80+ actors and MCPs on the platform, and reliability has been solid.
to the actual problem. Debugging a failed Docker build on the platform sometimes means pushing multiple
trial-and-error commits just to get a useful stack trace. The Store discovery algorithm is also opaque; it's hard to
understand why some actors rank well and others with better SEO and more users don't. Pricing transparency for
platform compute could be improved — estimating costs for a new actor before running it at scale requires a lot of
guesswork. The web IDE is underpowered compared to local development, and the dashboard UI can feel sluggish when
managing a large portfolio of actors. Minor gripe: the documentation sometimes lags behind SDK changes, so you
occasionally find examples that use deprecated patterns.
maintaining scraper infrastructure meant managing headless browser pools, rotating proxies, handling IP bans, and
babysitting cron jobs on VPS instances — all of which broke constantly and ate up time that should have gone toward
building the actual product. Now I deploy an actor and the platform handles orchestration, scaling, storage, and
monitoring.
The Apify Store turned scraping from a cost center into a revenue stream. I build specialized data extraction tools —
lead enrichment, contact scraping, compliance searches, review aggregation — and monetize them directly through the
Store's pay-per-usage model. That changed the economics entirely: every actor I build is both a tool I use internally
and a product that earns while I sleep.
The platform also makes it practical to offer data-as-a-service to clients without building custom infrastructure for
each one. I can hand a client a Store link or an API endpoint and they're up and running in minutes. For AI and
automation workflows, the MCP server integration means my scrapers plug directly into LLM-powered agents, which is
where the industry is heading. Apify is the connective tissue between raw web data and the AI tools that consume it.
