Essential scraping layer for a small team tackling hostile platforms
What do you like best about the product?
It handles the scraping targets that would otherwise be impossible for a small team - Facebook, Instagram, and Cloudflare-protected sites like Resident Advisor. Instead of fighting constant UI changes and bot protection, we plug in a managed actor, get clean JSON, and focus on the actually differentiated parts of our product (AI extraction, search UX). The pay-per-use pricing and ready-to-run actor store make it viable even for a small side project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actor discovery is the weakest part. Searching for something like "facebook events" returns a dozen overlapping actors with no clear signal on which is officially maintained, actively updated, or reliable in production. Trust badges, last-updated dates, and a recommended output schema per platform would save a lot of trial-and-error evaluation time. Cost predictability for long crawler runs could also be better - a dry-run estimator would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apify solves our hardest scraping problem: reliably extracting event data from platforms that actively fight scrapers — Facebook, Instagram, and Cloudflare-protected sites like Resident Advisor. Building and maintaining those scrapers ourselves would require a full-time engineer, so Apify is effectively the difference between our product existing and not existing.
Concrete benefits: we cover 16+ event sources with a two-person team, our source list grows automatically via the Google Search actor + AI evaluation pipeline, and engineering time goes into the differentiated parts of the product (AI extraction, genre classification, search UX) instead of babysitting fragile scrapers every time Meta ships a UI change.

I am getting local business contact info to call and email. Its amazing to build a list.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the wide selection of prebuilt tools that Apify offers, especially because they are reliable for the specific sites I need. The actors available are reliable, allowing me to pull data and let Apify do its thing without me having to constantly interrupt. It's great that the exported data is structured nicely and cleanly, making it easy to integrate with other tools in my pipeline. I appreciate the comprehensive documentation that makes it easy to understand the inputs and outputs, reducing the need for trial and error and fitting well into my existing workflow. Also, the amount of data I can access is more than what I was using before, and I get it faster and cheaper. Functionality-wise, Apify is exactly what I need and has made my life much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit of a learning curve. The user interface can be a bit overwhelming. There's a lot of options, which can feel suffocating at times. The initial learning curve is definitely something that is challenging.

I use Apify to scale pulling real estate data, eliminating manual data gathering and expensive services. It helps me run scrapers for fresh data, crucial in deal evaluation. Initially, the setup was challenging, but once familiar, it fits seamlessly and makes my life much easier.
Intuitive Scraping Bypasses Anti-Spam with AI Chatbot and n8n Workflows
What do you like best about the product?
It bypasses strong anti-spam protections on websites and lets me scrape useful data for my business. It’s also very intuitive. The pricing is OK for what it does. I also like the AI chatbot, which gives me answers whenever I need them. On top of that, I can use it very easily with N8N to build complex, powerful workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it fails on a few scrapes, but it’s marginal and rare. In some cases, I think the issue is the website I’m scraping rather than Apify. Also, the AI bot sometimes disappears and then comes back the next day. It’s a bit weird, because I need it at times and it’s just not there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me get around powerful anti-scraping and bot protections. It’s been useful for the company I run, especially for analyzing website data.

The CU model is fair once you understand it, but estimating the cost of a new Actor before running it is largely guesswork. Clearer upfront estimates or a proper dry-run mode would help significantly with budgeting.

Great for vibecoders
What do you like best about the product?
I discovered Apify a couple of months ago because I needed a way to scrape different sites (YC, WellFund, LinkedIn) for a small Saas I'm building (vibecoding) and it was super easy to incorporate the API calls into the program. The tricky thing is to find the right actor according to what you need, but once you do, it works perfectly and smoothly. The ability to test actors before you start making API calls is very useful.

search console should be able to easily go to the main search console, not just the actors I've used
