One-Stop Shop for Seamless Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
I like my Tableau dashboard when I log in, as I can save certain views of my favorite reports. It's great because I can just quickly click favorites and all my reports are there, lined up and named the way I want them. It's easy to click them, and then they populate. Tableau allows me to capture multiple sites on the reports, or I can drill down to select a single site and just get statistics for that one location. I also appreciate how it serves as a one-stop shop for all my reporting needs. It gives my regional managers a dashboard on specific metrics, which they can print, share with store teams, and use to develop action plans aligned with our P and Ls.

At this point, I don’t really have anything I don’t like about Tableau

Powerful Visuals, Needs Broader ERP Support
What do you like best about the product?
I like using Tableau for reporting executive reports as it allows me to easily track multiple metrics and drill down to the lowest granularity. I appreciate the clickable bubble charts that let me drill down into datasets for insights, removing the need for multiple dashboards since one suffices for high-level reports. The paginated reports make presentations easy without the need to prepare PowerPoint slides. I also find Tableau's presentable and interactive features to be very beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all types of ERP are supported, which made it difficult for me to make API connections to certain ERP tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau to easily track multiple metrics and drill down to the lowest granularity with clickable bubble charts for insights. It eliminates the need for multiple dashboards and PowerPoint presentations, providing presentable and interactive features.

Efficient Data Organization, Needs Stability Improvements

I like that you can add your own customizations to Tableau, which helps me align with the work we've done so far this year and decide what we actually need to do. It's also pretty easy to use and design.

A unique solution for data visualization, but the data lag is a challenge.
What do you like best about the product?
I have to connect the best workbook in Tableau and create an interactive report, which we call an interactive dashboard. I really like this dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a slight data lag. When more data is uploaded to it, there is a slight lag. If this issue is resolved, it would be even better.

Visualizing raw data into short reports with Tableau saves me time and effort. It makes data cleaning easier, so it doesn't take me much time.
Professional Data Visualizations and Seamless Integration
What do you like best about the product?
For me, Tableau's standout features include the high quality of its data visualizations, which allow you to create professional-looking dashboards with ease and speed. I also appreciate the interactivity of the dashboards, as well as the ability to drill down into the data—this makes it a valuable tool for analyzing information by exploring various perspectives and breakdowns. Additionally, Tableau's data integration capabilities are impressive, as it can connect to a wide range of systems and data sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I find most frustrating about Tableau is how difficult it can be to perform more advanced calculations and data transformations. For instance, if you need to calculate ratios or work with data across different levels of a hierarchy, the process can become quite cumbersome. While LOD expressions are designed to help with these scenarios, they are not always straightforward to use. Additionally, Tableau's performance can suffer when handling very large datasets, especially if you are building complex dashboards at the same time. Another significant drawback is the high cost, particularly when compared to alternatives like Power BI, and this becomes even more pronounced if you need extensive licensing for a large number of users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau offers high-quality data visualization and dashboarding capabilities, making it easier to report on and explore large datasets. Its interactive features allow a wide range of users to engage with the data. While Tableau is not the only software available for these tasks, it stands out as a well-established and professional tool that performs exceptionally well. It represents a significant improvement over simply sharing spreadsheets or PowerPoint presentations.
