Powerful Visualization Tool for Data-Driven Decision Making
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Tableau's user-friendly interface and the versatility it offers in creating detailed, interactive dashboards. The seamless data integration with multiple sources and the ability to drill down into data have greatly improved my data analysis workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Tableau is powerful, the pricing can be prohibitive for smaller businesses or individual users. Additionally, the learning curve for advanced features and occasional performance slowdowns when working with large datasets can be frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau helps me solve the challenge of transforming large, complex datasets into easy-to-understand visual insights. By enabling dynamic, real-time dashboards, it allows me to quickly identify trends, track key performance indicators, and share findings with stakeholders, which ultimately supports faster and more informed business decision-making.
Tableau is an extremely strong and adaptable data visualization tool.
What do you like best about the product?
The drag-and-drop interface of Tableau is user-friendly especially for individuals lacking extensive technical knowledge. Users only need to choose the fields and data points from their datasets to quickly generate charts, graphs, and dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau can be costly, particularly for startups. Even with its flexibility, the licensing model still adds costly, especially when you extend usage across teams or a complete company.Tableau is capable of handling huge datasets; but, depending on the structure and connectivity of the data, excessively large or complicated datasets may cause performance issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spreadsheets and massive, enterprise-level databases are just two examples of the many data sources that tableau may connect to and aggregate into a single dashboard. Working with varied data becomes simpler as a result, and complicated ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) procedures are avoided.Tableau makes it simple to retrieve, combine, and evaluate data from several sources in one location, which speeds up decision-making and cuts down on time spent manually compiling data.
The State-of-the-Art Data Visualization Tool and More
What do you like best about the product?
I like the user interface the most. Tableau is easy to get started with just a few clicks. The ease of implementation is second to none. If there is anything you want in your visuals, chances are Tableau has it. I also like that Tableau matches the user's level of rigor. It can be as simple as visualizations from a spreadsheet to a full-blown SQL query from the database connection.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not too fond of the pricing. It is an expensive tool, which creates a barrier to entry and impedes many data enthusiasts. If only Tableau were more accessible, many would benefit and unleash their potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau helps me create visuals that I can use for reporting or to inform decisions, such as in group meeting or presentations.
data visualization in short and crisp
What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau is slow with certain type of data which makes in not suitable for all kinds of data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using tableau, even a person with no coding experience can easily perform data analysis and visualization which is very useful as business people should not be expected to code.
Great expereince with visualising data for the purpose of analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is a lot more exponentially difficult to learn compared to its competitors, which makes it more exciting to be able to finish tasks.
The visual appeal is more enticing too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some visualizations are difficult to visualize if you're a begineer and would end up sticking to bar charts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To help any of our business stakeholders understand the metrics that inform them of business health and help take any recommendations based on that.

Nice dashboard, easy management of user and data source.
What do you dislike about the product?

Can get a bit mess up for solution usage
No Linux/ ubuntu version for the desktop version, i have a windows partition only for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Give visibility on the data to all our stakeholders.
Really good performance and has a growing community
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution for operational reporting, dashboards, metrics, and ad-hoc analysis.
What is most valuable?
The best thing about Tableau is that you don't need a database connection and can generate a dashboard from a spreadsheet. It's very open. It moved the responsibility to the end user rather than in a closed control loop. There are a lot of widgets. Tableau looks for the data and suggests cool widgets. The community is growing, and there is always someone who has tried something before.
If you go to Tableau Cloud, you will see tons of visualizations and things that have already been done. You don't need to struggle a lot. If you post a question, someone will always answer you. The product is also getting better. Tableau's performance is really good, and it is adding new features.
What needs improvement?
When Salesforce bought the solution, they claimed that Einstein would be part of Tableau, but that indication is not working. Tableau's integration with Einstein Analytics could be better. It's not even up to par with other products. The ad hoc, self-service, and data analysis features are not working.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Tableau for 11 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We haven’t faced any issues with the solution’s stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Tableau's scalability is much better than the other previous clunky tools like MicroStrategy and Cognos. Around 300 to 350 users use the solution in our organization.
How was the initial setup?
The solution's initial setup is straightforward, and its details are available on the internet. The solution's cloud service can be deployed within a day. However, the on-prem deployment depends on many other factors and might take a couple of days.
What was our ROI?
We have seen a return on investment with Tableau.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Tableau is an expensive solution.
What other advice do I have?
The solution is deployed on the cloud in our organization. If Tableau is on-premises, you have to monitor the server, recycle it, and restart it. However, if it is in the cloud, the admin role is completely reduced. We don't have a Tableau admin. The solution solves my problem, it is working as expected, and I have no complaints from my end.
There will always be complexities. We have to create a good data model so Tableau can use it. It's up to the team to make it complex or easy. Very good.
Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
