Much easier than Visio and cheaper.
What do you like best about the product?
Lucid charts allows you to easily create flow charts and save them on a cloud server. It makes life much easier if you have to work remotely or share files between coworkers. Editing and adjusting flow charts is also very easy. You can highlight everything that is needed to change and simply move it around. It is a very free and open software to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
When editing text boxes it is frustrating that the whole text is highlighted when you click into a box. It should work like Word where the courser goes to where your mouse is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot of business problems have been solved using Lucidcharts. I am able to send manufacturing process flows using Lucidcharts to my contract manufacturer. This aids in communicating how items are put together and cut down on travel time.
Work instructions have also been implemented into Lucidchart. It is easy to read a process flow instead of bullet point text.

I love the tool, but think it has room for improvement!
What do you like best about the product?
I love how customizable the tool is, and how I can create any kind of workflow or visual I need to. I also love that it easily integrates with Google docs so I can easily insert live diagrams and information is always up-to-date and readily available to my teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the shape options are limited. I think there should be more shape/color options and they can be made more accessible within the tool itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart is helping me create clarity around process and teams by giving me the tools to create visual workflows and charts that can be inserted into our internal wiki and shared in team meetings, etc.

A smart and fluid diagram solution with excellent collaboration features
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Lucidchart can be used for a wide selection of business planning uses. The tools in Lucidchart that are used to create the diagrams are easy to use and understand. We can simply drag the various objects into the stage and place them into place as we would with blocks on a table. Unlike drawing on a sheet of paper or chalk board, we can alter and edit the diagrams in a non-destructive way. We can go back and update our information as we go and make notes about each section to others in our group.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting some diagrams off the ground can be challenging. Also, getting used to the controls and allowing them to work as smoothly as they do when drawing diagrams with a pen and paper can take some time. It might be frustrating for those with at least a little experience with some design software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart is not only great for drawing diagrams, but we can also connect many users to discuss the creation of diagrams and possible edits that might be needed. Since Lucidchart can be tough for some users to use for drawing charts, it's great that we can have only one primary person to create charts and the others can just join in through chats and messages to direct the chart creation activities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend looking at some case studies to see how Lucidchart was implemented for companies and projects that are as similar as possible to what you're working on.
GREAT modern and easy to use alternative to Visio or other diagraming/imaging software for business.
What do you like best about the product?
I can use online or offline, has a ton of great templates, and is very easy to learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
Custom cropping before a download is not as refined as I would expect given the crispness of the rest of the offering.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Generating images for email marketing, flowcharts for new business processes. Easy and fast are the 2 main benefits, which equals heavy use and a very productive day!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are using Visio, stop. Get Lucidchart. If you have to generate variations of existing images/photos into a jpeg or png, use this. If you chart often - mindmap, BPMN, network diagram, org chart, you name it, use this.
Great tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy and intuitive Lucidchart is. You can easily draw diagrams of any kind without any limitations and your work looks very professional.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really can't think of anything. I guess having more templates that you can edit a few things one would be nice. Especially templates that are relevant to the tech space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are not many tools out there that enable you to create diagrams with a simple interface such as that of Lucidchart. You can export your final product and it will have the right dimensions and quality.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it, it is the best.
User-friendly visualization tool
What do you like best about the product?
Lucidchart is relatively simple to pick up. For someone like me with no experience in graphic design, it's simple enough to create a visualization or chart to express the ideas I'm working with.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a ton of room for variation in the designs. Everything is pretty two-dimensional.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have created easy-to-follow organizational charts and decision trees. It's been really helpful to have visuals where my employees can see them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Lucidchart is a great, simple way to create any flowcharts your organization may need. I recommend you start with a free trial, explore the features, get accustomed to the interface, and then decide if it meets your organization's needs.
It has been a great tool for a wide variety of solutions.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the high level of customization. It's like a mini auto cad and is great for overlaying floor plans with our design. We use it for a large variety of tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at this point. We don't have additional requests and at this point in time all of our needs are met. We have only had a handful of momentary issues which we were able to get prompt help with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We design our wiring maps, engineering, simple CAD, and mock sketches with LucidChart. One of the many benefits is the ease of use. With minimal training a new user can get going quick.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do a trial with the software and spend a whole day making documents.
The best tools for your diagrams
What do you like best about the product?
Portable, easy to use and powerful. I use it everywhere from iPad, home and office computers. Intuitive and the templates give you the right starting point to express your ideas. The MapMind is my favorite one by far.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some times the interface lost object references and it is necessary to reload the whole page. It doesn't happen very often and probably is related to some browser bug or something.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All sorts of things, from complex software architecture diagrams to organizational structure. The MapMind helps me organize my head!
Awesome!!
What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to create different kinds of charts and Lucidchart makes it so easy and you have so many different ways to create a simple or complex chart.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it will reset something (could be my computer though) or kick me out of the system (very rarely)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to make a visual of timelines or just a flow chart that is very easy to view and read that I can send to management to or different teams for them to have a easy guideline of when we expect to have certain projects/work completed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommend Lucidchart, especially if in a management or training position so you can easily show a timeline of expectations or when projects need to be completed by.
Extremely useful
What do you like best about the product?
I like the availability of icons and the ease of use. One can easily navigate across large diagrams and it is very easy to get the hang of Lucidchart once you get to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are three main issues I wish would exist or be better:
1. Myself being a keyboard person, I would like it if there existed more keyboard shortcuts (e.g. for aligning icons with one-another). I feel like this would allow me to complete diagrams faster, since I am not too proficient with the mouse.
2. Sometimes, with very-large architectures, the page can lag. The diagrams I create are very complex, and the more icons I add, the slower the performance.
3. Sometimes, the snapping is not 100% on-par. When I am moving lines around, either it does not snap in the right location, forcing me to redraw the line. Other times, when two dashed/dotted lines overlap, I have trouble aligning them just right so that the dashes/dots are 100% aligned.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart is extremely beneficial because I can put a thousand words into one diagram. I imagine architectures in my mind, and can put those on paper to show clients, and those diagrams do most of the talking. In facing clients and performing assessments and recommendations, Lucidchart proved to be a very-powerful tool in diagramming our solutions and putting them to fruition, all the while serving as documentation once our consultancy completes the engagement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool to communicate your thoughts by putting them on paper. Various icons are available for various platforms, and Lucidchart integrates very well with other software and platforms, and allows you to export your diagrams in various formats. Highly recommended.
