Sprout Social Excels in Reporting Functionality

  • January 05, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The reporting functionality of SproutSocial is why our organizations decided to make the switch. They provide you with detailed metrics, a downloadable analytics dashboard, and give you the insight you need to make smarter social decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Feed Page of SproutSoical is not the best. Would prefer them to take an approach more like Hootsuite and allow for multiple streams and list capabilities. Easier navigation would be helpful when you are trying to keep up with the fast pace of social feeds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to increase our social presence and come up with a more comprehensive strategy for posting and utilizing each channel. Again the reporting functionality is the main reason we use Sprout, as it gives us the information, direction and flexibility we need to collect and report out on the data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start off using the trial, explore all functionalities, explore their webinars, and utilize customer support to ask questions and gain all the facts before deciding.

Priced for medium sized business

  • December 27, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up and better for social listening than Hootsuite.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is a little out of range for small business but does have access to campaigns that can make it worth the price if utilized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social media management

One of the easiest tools out there for social media monitoring.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How everything is available to you at a glance. Easy to navigate and manage, and great customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems wholly targeted towards customer service. We're a University, so use it mainly for listening and communicating, but the system is really set up for customer management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to schedule social media posts in advance, keeping an ear on what people are saying about us across various channels, easy reporting and all-in-one social management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider the cost - it can be expensive if you only need casual social media monitoring. It's very robust, but you may not need something as intense as this product if you're only looking casually at your engagement.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can program and send out tweets. I also, love the queue feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't feel like it flows. Needs to be more user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social media monitoring. Still not satisfied.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend purchasing the Meltwater version they partnered with Sprout to create.

It's good, but the reporting tools could be better

  • November 28, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's SUPER easy to schedule out on there and I love that you can have multiple accounts for each social channel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't like the reporting features. In my opinion, their reporting is extremely inaccurate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's super easy to schedule out as well as see when people are "speaking" to you. I also love that if multiple people are using the sprout accounts, you can see when someone else answered so you don't do it twice! It definitely makes it easier.

Overall good with some bugs

  • June 28, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Unified inbox makes monitoring easier and various interactions work well
What do you dislike about the product?
App quite often crashes when trying to load original post - meaning we don't get the context we need. Users have reported the app being difficult to interact with and recently we've had one message that will not mark 'complete'
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Risk of missing messages
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the free trial, the reporting is also very useful

Solid mid-level social media tool

  • June 23, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Overall this is a great tool for small to mid-size companies that need good social media management - both publishing and analytical. With the ability to manage various brand channels, schedule content and see both engagement and demographic numbers, it is a valuable tool that doesn't break the budget.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it should update in real-time, it it can often be delayed up to 5 or more minutes. Additionally, if you are used to enterprise tools you will find the analytics to be lacking. Plus, any searches are keyword based, not a robust NLP program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Schedule weekly posts, monitor competitor conversations and issues, gain insights on customers and audience.

Decent

  • June 02, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout is a decent platform that allows for publishing, scheduling, and engaging with followers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Single stack feed instead of multiple stacks. So, it's not that easy to find a post when you're looking for it. Stick to HootSuite if you like side-by-side stacks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing accounts for multiple clients, Sprouts makes it easy and it's affordable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your homework. It's a decent tool and does what it says it will, but some are better.

Pretty good product, but does not show all reports for social media.

  • May 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it shows reports and statistics for Facebook and Twitter.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the fact that it does not include Instagram to the report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to gain engagement from all followers. The benefits I have gained from using this product is that I get to see all the statistics for Facebook and Twitter.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think Sprout Social is great. It gives you all the report and statistics of usage on Facebook and Twitter and you can use that report to analyze it know what to improve on. However, Sprout Social currently does not support Instagram. I think it would be perfect if it does.
