4 Year Experience with Sprout Social

  • June 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout Social is easy to use. We've stuck with it because it is very easy to draft posts across platforms and attach media files. It is easy to reply and view posts that mention our client directly from the interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is VERY pricey for what you receive. They provided limited customer service and are totally unhelpful when there are issues with any of the integration issues for the platforms. We also had an issue with them overcharging us for a service they've discontinued. It is painful to get anything resolved and phone support is only available at a premium price. We are looking for a replacement because it seems like given the services we receive it just too expense.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are digital marketing agency focused on the technology sector. B2B social media is very important. Sprout Social enables us to create dynamic posts across channels and monitor engagement with followers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sprout Social has changed a lot over the last 4 years. They used to be very focused on all their customers. It seems like they no longer pay attention to smaller clients even though we pay over $7,200 a year. We haven't seen a lot of improvements in our service. Most of the changes have been for very large teams that don't apply to our account.

Overall great tool for social scheduling and monitoring

  • June 15, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This product is great for complex scheduling, and the 'smart inbox' makes it easy for multiple people to work/monitor one account.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the 'sentiment' gauge is not always accurate -- however I realize it is challenging for a software to correctly identify sentiment 100% of the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple people are able to seamlessly work on one account, which frees up people's time.

Among the best options for social media management

  • May 28, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a good platform for scheduling posts across mainstay social media channels
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of processes that seem unnecessarily involved. Biggest being the process of scheduling posts for Instagram and still having to use Instagram's dedicated app to publish.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social media management. We use it in conjunction with an Excel-based social media content calendar

Sprout Social will be the right tool for some businesses

  • April 11, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Well-organized dashboard. Of the features Sprout Social offers, the way it organizes information is the most advantageous. It, separates subject matter into six distinct areas: Messages, Tasks, Feeds, Publishing, Discovery, and Reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sprout Social limits user access to four social networks: Twitter, Facebook, Google+ page, LinkedIn and a single Feedly RSS reader account. The platform does not integrate with Pinterest or Instagram. This is unfortunate given the growth of visually oriented networks. That paired with the extremely high cost are the biggest cons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are utilizing the ability to monitor relevant conversations, giving us the ability to never miss an opportunity to engage with our demographic at key moments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at your goals for social media, and how a software plan would fit into that. If you're looking for conversation and engagement management, or maybe you're just looking for analytics and scheduling. There are a lot of options out there that are a little more cost-friendly and can still help you achieve your goals. If cost is not a large issue, Sprout Social is a great platform with great customer service.

If felt a little basic compared to its competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posting once to multiple accounts

Great reports and analytics

  • March 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of pulling reports and looking at analytics is incredible. It's very valuable when creating reports for management and gives more robust data than the native analytics on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although useful, the scheduling options are probably the least useful, only because the service they provide can be provided by the native channels or comparable products for free.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Looking at long-term data for analysis of activity, engagement and growth.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They are very willing to work with non-profits and local companies.

  • February 16, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to set up my queue for the week and get data on each message so I can requeue high performing evergreen content across our platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s a little bit pricey to get all the gfeatures you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a small team and a large social following hungry for new content to help drive the business. This lets us meet the needs of our audience without sacrifing too much time stuck in social.

Decent Social Media Management software, not the best

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I think Sprout's clean user interface. It's an intuitive system to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the mobile app. It's good at sending mobile notifications when an Instagram post is scheduled to go out but the push notifications never go away! I have 34 notifications waiting for me on this app and I can't make them go away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving my company's need for a comprehensive social media management platform. I can schedule and monitor content in this platform. It also has a really great reporting/analytics feature.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My advice is to realize that no social media monitoring system is perfect. I like Sprout better than Hootsuite but there are still features from Sprout that are missing - Facebook Groups integration and Pinterest integration. Sprout's relatively small platform integration offerings are made up for by its excellent customer service.
