Effective tool with some limitations
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to see all your scheduled posts at once, making it easy to see where you need more coverage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would have liked to see more features to expand functionality, such as the ability to duplicate past posts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easier to post the same thing to multiple platforms with Sprout
Good product, but could be better.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use for publishing and social platform availability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Analytics and reporting is somewhat lacking. The ability to build custom reports is very restrictive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Publishing across all social platforms in one application.
Sprout Social Does the Job Ok
What do you like best about the product?
Scheduling out content and the reporting
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of Instagram story features - we still post directly in platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling content is a real time-saver.
By and large it is user friendly and you can handle multiple platforms in one source.
What do you like best about the product?
Using Sprout to handle all of our Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other accounts.
What do you dislike about the product?
It used to be easier to add items to our queue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout makes it easier to stay connected and up to date with our followers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sprout works for keeping up to date with your customers and followers.
Easy to schedule - could use some upgrades
What do you like best about the product?
Using Sprout Social is great for teammates - especially when we're not in the same time zone and/or office space. The listening tool (previously was a separate tool outside of Sprout) is a really fantastic in-depth way to access what is being said about your brand - good, bad, and neutral - and helps develop a starting point for your strategy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Given that Instagram is always changing its algorithm, I understand this maybe isn't possible, but back to my point above about not always having teams in the same timezone, it would be great to not have to have a publisher - as in, once a post has been approved in the workflow, it would automatically go live, instead of having a publisher need to go back and take time to post (especially if it's not in their work hours)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Please see above.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a great social listening tool, Sprout is great! If you're looking for something to complete all your posting strategy in one place, it could use some additional features. You can't run campaigns, ads, etc. from this platform, but it's great for the use of organic posts.
Functional Social Media Monitoring and Management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Tired of siloed reporting? Sprout is one of the few [affordable] tools that lets you report on all of your social channels (minus YouTube).
It pulls in posts that you send from another platform into the calendar and reports so you get the whole picture.
The image editor allows you to crop images to the correct dimensions for each platform.
Monitoring is slick for support and community engagement (although doesn't include LinkedIn mentions, but that's most likely something to do with LinkedIn). Also pulls in Google reviews and Facebook reviews & recommendations.

What do you dislike about the product?
The calendar view - you can see daily, weekly, and monthly. If you choose to look at the monthly view - you can only see what's scheduled, and not past posts. Makes it hard to get the bigger picture of what's going on for the month, or even trying to see what type of posts you have going out week over week.
You can't save posts to reuse - although you can clone posts that went out within 90 days.
Listening is only available for the top price tier - something most other tools provide for free or with their basic accounts.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout allows me to schedule out posts and report on social as a whole.
Big upgrade
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, listening functionality is very useful, as well as ability to create approval workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The browser extension is not perfect, sometimes menus/setting areas do not expand as they should.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Boosted our collaboration across multiple university units, has helped to break down silos between departments and easily share content.
Great Agency Tool
What do you like best about the product?
This tool is great as it provides fast and easy layout that is pretty user friendly. When working with multiple accounts and clients its very helpful when needing to understand the overall scope in one quick and easy glance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support was a bit on the slow side, but might have been due to high demand. Often times this might be due to issues with the native platforms themselves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We like to have the ability to share content calendars for our clients to approve within the tool as well as have our clients review content, make edits/updates and provide feedback. It’s much more helpful to have them make changes within the tool. Overall, we're able to work more efficiently from an agency perspective
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask as many questions before signing contract. Everything is negotiable.
Great platform with a few hiccups
What do you like best about the product?
Sprout is intuitive, so getting started is easy. There are quite a few powerful tools that help you dig a little deeper that are easy to understand with their included short training segments.
What do you dislike about the product?
A few hiccups that make sprout frustrating: not being able to post carousel posts through the app, videos can be a bit wonky and need to be monitored carefully to ensure correct posting, can't add donate buttons through the app, can't schedule reply tweets (ie. when posting a thread), can't use it for instagram stories, the photo editing capabilities aren't great (text is only huge, previous version of this functionality was much better), reporting stats seem a bit random and could have more customization options/be better explained.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to plan a social media content calendar and see how our cross channel story is being told. Able to get analytics quickly and easily (although not fully comprehensive).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sprout is a powerful tool! You get a lot more out of it when your regularly have training sessions with their employees to ensure you're using all the tools to the best of your ability.
Great social media tracking service - with caveats
What do you like best about the product?
I love the reports and how my social media information is all displayed in one place. It helps me efficiently track conversations and publish content with confidence. I also love the way the feeds are displayed. It is really nice to have a single place to come to manage all social media.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there could be better algorithms to suggest feeds to follow and ways to stay engaged. Perhaps providing more training content and information about best practices. I think the scheduling function could be improved. It is not always clear if something is a "draft" and therefore not sheduled to be posted. We've missed a number of time-sensitive posts because we didn't realize that they were still in draft form. It seems like that aspect of the interface should be more clear/easy to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has really helped us scale our social media strategy. We've identified new audiences and found the content that resonates the most by using the report features. It has helped us streamline our office scheduling and posting process. We used to have a much more cumbersome system for planning and implementing social campaigns but now we can do everything in one place. The saved time has been reinvested into actial campaign planning, so not only are we able to do things quicker, we've found additional time for the actual goals at hand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the tutorials in the beginning. Otherwise, you'll waste a lot of time trying to figure out basic things. Familiarize yourself with the dashboard and all of the monitoring features. Even though the platform is pretty simple it has a surprisingly challenging learning curve. Invest your time in learning the full layout in order to get the most out of it.
