Spout Social does what you need it to do
What do you like best about the product?
Sprout Social is intuitive to use. It's very easy to schedule social posts
What do you dislike about the product?
Sprout Social doesn't make banning comments on Facebook very easy. I don't know of a way to go directly from a comment to the FB post.

Good not Great
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and straightforward, clean platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very basic abilities, wish it had more analytic abilities and better reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The smart inbox has helped our team stay on task. The reports are also helpful to track performance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a very basic platform that provides good info.
the onboarding and assistance has been very helpful so far.
What do you like best about the product?
I like all of the features like tags, publishing reports, creating a vip list, and being able to organize your smart inbox based on insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont dislike anything right now, I am still getting used to the platform though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to pull reports on our social channels and pull reports on our comments which is super helpful. Being able to tag the subject of different comments that come in is also super helpful for passing along useful patterns in consumer comments to other teams within Kodiak Cakes.
Sprout has some cool features but I'm not sure if I like it more than Later
What do you like best about the product?
The Twitter listening tool is really helpful as well as the optimal times to post. Later only gives you one time a day as a suggested post time, but Sprout Social gives you several suggestions. We often use Twitter to mine for Tweets relevant to our content that we can then turn into a Tweet post to share on Instagram, which often perform very well. I also really enjoy Sprout Social's reporting tools and how reports are automatically generated and sent to my inbox. It's nice to not have to pull the metrics myself and all I have to do is reference the numbers in my email.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sprout Social's user interface isn't as aesthetically pleasing as Later. I enjoy the calendar layout for my content calendar is easier to move around on Later. Later is also better for scheduling IG Stories and TikToks. I also enjoy that Later has a preview of the feed feature that you can access from an online browser (not just mobile). Not being able to see a feed preview is unhelpful because I can't see if all the colors of the different posts are complimentary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The greatest benefits have been finding Tweets to repost through the listening tool and using the multiple optimal post time suggestions. Before using Sprout Social's listening tool, I would have to blindly search different trending topics and keywords on Twitter and there is no guarantee something valuable would come up, but Sprout Social's listening tool allows for me to more quickly comb through content to find quality tweets to share with our audience.
Sprout Social for Writing Studio
What do you like best about the product?
Smart Inbox tool being able to answer everything from just one place
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to like or comment on IG posts regarding private accounts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling posts, report making, engaging community, lowering response times
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I am new to social media management and had previously used another app, which we thought was utterly intricate. Sprout is as complex if not more but offers a more friendly and intuitive platform.
Sprout Social has a lot of bells and whistles to amp up your social media game.
What do you like best about the product?
The analytics are definitely the highlight in my opinion compared to other scheduling platforms out there. They get very detailed in what way you'd like to track or measure something which is very cool and can pertain to your niche and business model more.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that there is no grid over view and I am unable to see how a cropped image will lay in my feed. Most free scheduling tools offer this so I am shocked they don't have anything like this when it comes to scheduling out content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making my job as a social media manager easier by having everything housed in one place. From posting to tracking analytics as well as checking UGC and reviews. Super nice having all live in one place especially when onboarding a new team member I can approve or deny their work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you know what packages are available and see which one lines up with your needs. Some of the pieces in the premium package are vital to your daily routine as a social media manager and you want to utilize them to your best ability and know when it comes time for onboarding so they can properly show you all the tools.
Solid Platform, but do your research for best fit for your Agency.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can add notes to a calendar to plan content for the long term, besides that unless I pay more I can't use other tools. Which is a turn-off.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app is pretty expensive, and there are some analytics and tools only available if you pay more, limiting a small agency and forcing you to look for other options in the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling posts for multiple accounts. The benefit is similar to all other apps out there competing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Determine what tools you will need, do a demo with each platform. Ask questions, then make a move.
On the Standard plan
What do you like best about the product?
The scheduling feature is the best I've worked with. I've used Hootsuite and AgoraPulse in the past and Sprout seems to have both of them beat with what you can do within each channel's capabilities. I get the most out of the platform from their reports. Being able to quickly see the top performing posts for the time period I specify is really helpful to provide suggestions for strategies in the future. It's also much more organized and intuitive when it comes to LinkedIn's reports in general.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's unfortunate that you can't tag individuals in LinkedIn posts, only company pages. I have to set reminders for myself to do that natively. I have to monitor paid ad comments natively for Facebook as well. They've slowly taken away certain features of the Standard plan (i.e. visibility with queued posts) without warning, which briefly feels like some sort of glitch. I get that they want users to upgrade, but in-app, their blogs and support documentation I don't feel there's a very clear delineation between their tiered packages (outside of the reports tab), so it's sometimes hard to understand what I should have access to. I'd love it if there was an option to only upgrade just my profile as a power user and keep the rest of the team that barely logs in on a lower level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to get a very clear picture of what our post impact is organically. We've been able to easily recognize patterns in the posts that perform well, helping us dramatically increase our engagement numbers.
Social Media Posting Management
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to schedule posts for all our platforms and all our handles, seeing all posts on the publishing calendar and pulling analytic reports by tags.
What do you dislike about the product?
That you can't do instagram carousel posts through Sprout on your desktop without needing to use the phone app. Also, you can't do video carousel posts at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were having a hard time managing all the different property handles and getting our posts organized in advance of posting. Now we're able to prep posts in advance and not feel rushed to post them the day we want them live.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of the trainings when you first join. They are super helpful and will walk you through the basics but also whatever questions specific to your use needs.
