Great service, needs fixes for Instagram

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Scheduling, tracking, and reporting on posts is seamless and easy to use. Also, very easy to train others on how to use. The interface is extremely friendly and reports are designed in a way that needs very little adjustment before presenting to clients. Customizations for posting content (i.e. tags, location etc) are also very easy to use. Bonus points for having an 'individual' mode that is free for people who use Sprout while at work.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see a more robust system for Instagram. Currently posting to IG is a bit buggy when our account has more than one user, I believe this problem is something on the back end regarding account security. Using this for an individual is fine, but if an agency has multiple users, this can be a problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to schedule posts across a calendar and then adjust that calendar based on tracking and reporting is easy to use and presented in a way that clients easily understand. We work with clients that change their social media strategy often, and Sprout allows us to be nimble when those requests come in. Furthermore, our clients have their own reporting, but the data we receive from Sprout is a great way to cross-check the learning they have.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent service for managing Facebook and Twitter accounts. Would recommend for both agencies handling multiple accounts, as well as individual users who are running small businesses. This service is easy to learn, so training new employees/social media managers will be seamless.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very user-friendly, support staff is helpful and a very intuitive program.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more listening tools available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout has helped in scheduling and analyzing results for our clients' social media needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider Sprout and all of the tools they have to offer. Work with their team if there is anything you would like adjusted, they are receptive to feedback.

Helpful, but still wanting more functionality

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How easy Sprout makes it for me to schedule our content calendar and plan content months ahead across all channels and using multiple types of media. Additionally, the Instagram business analytics are pretty strong (would love some more capabilities but I know that is API contingent), for example, tracking saves on posts and follower growth is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more clarity around how data is pulled and how metric terms are defined in Sprout -- especially when you find discrepancies between Sprout and native analytics on the platform (e.g. Instagram). The definitions provided are too vague. Furthermore, there are some UX/UI issues that I've encountered as a user, which I think could easily be solved to make the experience of using Sprout more intuitive. Additionally, Sprout has not been a successful tool for identifying mentions of our company from blog posts, I was under the impression that this was possible. Finally, I would love to know the road map for enhanced Instagram tracking, especially any developments for Stories (I understand this is API dependent).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing social posts across all channels from two company accounts, social listening and analytics. We have seen the greatest benefit from the scheduling tool in Sprout to populate our social media channels with evergreen content. I am still diving into how best to leverage the listening tool, however, would love more control as a user.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really solid tool for high-level listening and platform management (ie. scheduling). Has some tracking functionalities that would be great if they weren't so manual (ie. tagging posts) and still wanting for broad social media platform analytics (e.g. very Twitter heavy), but I know that that is API dependent.

Sprout Social — Put your social media management under one umbrella

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to manage multiple client accounts and generate great reports to send to our clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime it is difficult to schedule certain types of content (large images, videos, multiple image posts). Also, scheduling to Facebook is a bit more nuanced than Sprout offers at this time (populating links, etc.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A centralized place to host all social interaction. Also, we love being able to monitor social media for keywords being used when our specific tags are not being mentioned.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great software and helpful if you're looking to aggregate all of your social media marketing to one place.

Making social media management easy

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is intuitive and user-friendly. I especially like the visually-oriented reports it generates where I can quickly grasp which posts are the top performers and what our audience breakdown looks like.
What do you dislike about the product?
Things I dislike relate to not having features available in my price tier or features that were taken away due to an API change. So there's nothing I inherently dislike about Sprout Social.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has made social listening much more efficient. I like being able to manage all my accounts in one place and being able to compare them.

Difficult at first, but quickly got used to the platform and it's become second nature.

What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to schedule my social media posts and see all of my posts laid out on a calendar. It is easy to edit the posts and change the time/day if I need to move things around. The most engaging time to post according to sprout is a very cool feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that you can't add a video and a picture into one post on sprout social. Although there is a feature to add the first comment, that feature disappears when I assign a publisher. It would be helpful to have that feature still available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sometimes my scheduled post will send but an error happens and I get a notification in the email. Then the post is no longer visible on the calendar or in my notifications and I'll have to write it out again. The most engaging time to post according to sprout has been beneficial to me.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great platform to use for starting businesses or businesses that are still new to social media. It's great to use if you have multiple people managing a social media page because you can add more people to the account. Although you can schedule posts directly from the social media platforms, sprout social allows you to see everything laid out on a calendar and reminds you when it's time to post.

Great for reporting and scheduling

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout gives us great reporting options with a user-friendly interface. Love the scheduling tools as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to customize the comparison dates within the reports (i.e. change between month over month, year over year, etc.). We would also like the option to preview the Instagram grid on desktop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout minimizes time spent putting together reports and allows us to schedule all our social content from one central platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool

A Great Drafting, Scheduling, Calendar and Response Tool

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Love the ability to schedule out our social calendar for the week(s) ahead, have multiple team members draft posts for review and posting later, post to all of our social accounts in one place, and handle reactive social (customer complaints) in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Better integration with Salesforce (specifically the feedback section) for our brand awareness and customer complaints. More training and hands on guidance from account rep on things like the new social listening tool would be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Near real-time response across teams to customer complaints. Better ability to plan our social calendar.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool that can easily handle social monitoring and scheduling across multiple team members.

Great way to stay organized

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The social calendar aspect and UI are clean and intuitive. Users from other content planning models feel at home instantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Things feel too segmented. Having a look at how past posts did alongside how future posts are doing might help in faster pivoting or adaptation of content strategies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving campaign level planning and time lost due to big amounts of content coming out of the pipeline. Double this with being able to listen in and catch trends as they come and go is also a key aspect in being able to always stay true to the built audience while also cultivating a new one
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great all around tool for those who are looking to get things organized while being able to look up insightful metrics pertaining to competition, trends and deep audience analysis. Many of the tools do seem segmented from each other in terms of reporting / measuring to posting and scheduling, but the adjustment isn't offputting and allows a user to really dial in on the tasks at hand.

Nice platform with some weaknesses

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to schedule several platforms at once, over a long period of time. Reports are quick and easy to personalize. The platform is user-friendly, with some exceptions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The phone application and the inability to schedule IG multiple images/stories is a major issue. I handle scheduling for several accounts and I would need to log in to their accounts on my phone to post something that I had already scheduled. This is a waste of time, energy and opens the door to errors and incorrect posting. This needs to be addressed and made possible via the standard platform. No YouTube.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Programming social media for several companies a month in advance and being able to see the calendar for all is helpful. The reports are quick and easy to read.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do not use this if you plan on doing YouTube, Instagram stories or posting several images at once.
