My Favorite Tool for Managing Social Media

  • October 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout Social makes it easy to manage multiple social media accounts. As a small creative studio, we manage multiple social media accounts for our clients so organization is important. One of my favorite aspects of Sprout Social is the ability to create "Groups". We use these groups to separate our client's accounts which makes management and controlled access easy. When you're in a group folder all you see are the social media accounts in that group. It really cuts on the clutter and minimizes the chance of accidentally posting on the wrong client account.

I really like the features that enable collaboration. Sprout has approval workflows and the ability to leave comments on drafted posts. We sometimes work with freelancers to help us schedule and create content for our clients. While we trust our freelancers we sometimes need to approve posts before they go out. Using Sprout's approval workflows really streamlines this process. In addition, if we need to comment on a post that was submitted for approval by a freelancer, we can do so right in the application without having to send an email out. This is great for quick feedback and discussion on social strategy.

Another great thing about Sprout is their people. From their community strategists to support - the team is a pleasure to work with. It really looks like Sprout has a great company culture and that really shows in the end product and service.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's really not too much to dislike about Sprout. The only thing I would have to say is I've experienced some application bugs here and there but that is somewhat expected when using any web application. The good news is every time I've experienced a bug I've been able to reach out to support and they were able to help resolve the issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a small creative studio we are managing social media for our clients. Sprout Social enables us to provide social media services to our clients from community management to content scheduling.

My #1 Social Media Tool!

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Sprout Social since 2014 at 3 different companies. The smart inbox is what hooked me to start and I'm a lifer now because Sprout is constantly adding to its capabilities. There are different levels of subscriptions so you can tailor to your budget and your company's needs, the interface is clean, easy to navigate and understand, and it makes reporting simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that Instagram DMs were integrated into the smart inbox... that's not Sprout's fault, it's the Instagram API, but a little birdie told me that's coming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing engagement across multiple platforms in one place is so simple with Sprout. I love that I can tag different types of messages to organize them or come back to later and it makes reposting UGC from Instagram so simple because UGC is an important part of our Instagram strategy. Adding that feature was a dream! No need for a third-party app. The only thing missing is a permission flow (for now I just comment on the image asking for permission, then tag the post as having permission so it's in my files for future use).

What do you like best about the product?
I love the scheduling ability with all of my company's brands. It helps keep our social organized and efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is so much that Sprout offers that it's hard to find time to make it all useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to create social media posts and efficient reporting with Sprout. It helps us see how our social is performing and how we can improve.

Easily Schedule Social Posts

  • October 16, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout makes it easy to schedule social posts for your business or for multiple businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only platform that Sprout doesn't currently let you post directly to is Instagram.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to increase efficiency and productivity with Sprout Social. Being able to schedule posts in advance means we can have posts scheduled several days in advance and make changes as necessary depending on trending topics, time sensitivity, etc. It's easy to share links, videos, images, etc. on multiple platforms for different businesses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sprout Social is moderately priced and really makes posting on social platforms easier. You'll save so much time.

The best social management platform for the price!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
First and foremost, Sprout is extremely user-friendly. The UI is very easy to navigate, making it simple to get started. Scheduling is easy and straightforward. Reporting is precise and comprehensive. Managing a team is seamless and efficient. Community management is a breeze. Additionally, user support is terrific—especially for agency partners.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bummer that Sprout doesn't have the ability to manage Instagram DMs (as of me writing this), but that's a global issue for social management platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Publishing at optimal times to maximize reach and engagement, community management, reporting and analytics—to inform future content creation. Benefits have been better quality content, more reach and engagement, better quality reporting and analytics and happier clients!

Favorite, easy-to-use social media publisher and inbox

  • October 05, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the inbox that pulls in keywords, hashtags, and every mention of your brand on each social platform. The social inbox is reason enough to arguably get the tool. Also the ability to "complete" message as tasks, quickly hide/delete comments and messages, and email messages to your colleagues that you don't know how to respond to is really helpful. It streamlines your workflow so well!

I love the week-by-week calendar showing you when you have planned content.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Sprout is not a great Facebook or Instagram publisher. I still draft/schedule posts in the native Facebook app because I find it's the most accurate view of what your posts will look like, and it will let you tag others and include locations.

For Instagram, I wish Sprout had a visual grid planner (like UNUM) where you can plan out your content visually and it loads your feed. Additionally, there's no way to make/store Instagram Stories so you kind of have to keep apps for different things.

Also you can't tag brands well in LinkedIn in the app, so often will post in the native LinkedIn app to tag any partners we need to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprout saves us time for managing our social accounts—you can hop in the inbox and check if you have any new comments/messages/replies, etc. So that your brand can respond quickly to your audience.

Also having a service that scours any mention of your brand or brand keywords that you want to check for across social is super helpful for missing any relevant content.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider what your biggest needs with social media management/publishing are, then view and trial each service you're considering against that.

For most of my career, I've worked with small to medium-sized brands who are somewhat new to investing heavily in social, and Sprout has met their immediate needs at a low cost. AKA it's a great, affordable tool for small nonprofits.

Also understand that you're still going to need several apps to perform the various tasks you need on each channel. Sprout isn't a video editor or Instagram Stories maker, etc.

Great platform at an affordable price

  • September 29, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sprout Social provides all of the capabilities necessary for a social management platform: advanced scheduling, monitoring, and analytics. You can assign tasks if you're working on a big team, and bulk upload if you've planned out your editorial calendar months in advance.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish some of the monitoring capabilities were more advanced, such as for keyword monitoring. It would be more helpful to identify influencers if the platform were structured differently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Such a timesaver when it comes to posting daily and advanced planning. Helps to spend more time on the strategy.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It makes managing social media easy. The smart inbox and scheduling tools are second to none
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost if sprout is a little on the high side but overall it is worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Justifying the cost was the biggest issue but seeing how much time it saved us Durning the trial made it an easy choice to go a head and do it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do the free trial and don't get scared if the price tag until you see what it offers

Sprout Social: The way social media automation should be.

  • June 29, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Features are all included in one place. With other tools, I had to pay for something I needed that wasn't included. If you need something to get the job done, it's there.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a discount for nonprofit organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With other automation sites, there were a lot of complex steps to take. With Sprout Social, it's very streamlined and easy to use. I used to miss comments or other interactions on social media with other companies but since switching to Sprout Social a year ago, I have been more able to interact with my customers than I had before.

The Best Social Media Management Tool for B2B Businesses

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If your social media management needs largely revolve around Reporting, Scheduling and Global Inbox Monitoring across channels, Sprout Social is your playground. With their professional plan, you get access to the above mentioned features which make managing and engaging your social media audiences a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we had access to a solid social media listening tool as part of their professional plan or as an add on module that were more affordable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Global Inbox helps get messages from all your social channels - LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram into a single inbox on an ongoing basis which helps you keep tabs and stay in touch with your audiences. This eliminates the need to goto each social media channel and check notifications on a regular basis.

The reporting module gives you good insights on impressions and engagement trends.

The scheduling module helps you plan and execute on your social media publishing calendar.
