MS Excel and Project, but more intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to follow user interface, which makes it very simple to understand any differences between SmartSheet and previously used software. There is a very good community and strong support staff available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Naturally, there is a learning curve with every software. But once you get past that it's a breeze to use.
Some features can seem convoluted, but easy to understand once you get your head around.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us work together effectively as a team, across department boundaries. We are able to track progress and update timelines in real-time. Overall communication has been improved.

What do you like best about the product?
The best think about smartsheet for me is the way the GANT charts are. I find them very useful as it keeps my work on track whilst simultaneously letting my colleagues know where im at also.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user Interface i find that it is sometimes hard to navigate especially when i first began using it but over time i have gotten used to it so i would recommend giving it enough chance
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping me with the organisation of projects and what i can help with my team and where they are at throughout the project therefore making the project be more efficient.
A Very helpful tool which makes work more efficient
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and helpful layout to assist with workflow. By providing an easy and quick way to have multiple people in a team contribute to the system it makes keeping up to date a better and smoother experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be hard to navigate with a remote desktop or similar tools. Gantt chart timelines are sometimes hard to look at with the amount of information on stange and would be helpful to be able to manipulate the view more
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making it easier to document progress and collaborate on work projects. It increases the likelihood of people updating the smartsheet as opposed to old systems and makes it not feel like a hard admin task.

What do you like best about the product?
What is most beneficial about Smartsheet is its easy-to-use interface. Everything is very intuitive and simple to learn. You don't really need to train anyone how to use it as it's pretty obvious
I also love the depth of capabilities; you can pretty much do anything on it and ask it to do everything you need! I like that you can link up sheets very easily and create your own custom work flows. You can effectively create your own system on it which is awesome

What do you dislike about the product?
A couple of things I dislike about smartsheet
There is no back or forwards button. So when jumping through sheets you have to re-navigate back to previous sheets you were on or use the browser back button. Whilst using the browser back button works okay, there is the uncertainty that it will load a previous page without refreshing it. What would be really useful is a little preview button showing previous sheets you were working on, or a back and forwards button
You can only access through a browser, whereas a desktop app would be really useful. It would be far easier to keep open and pin it to your task bar. I’m aware that a Chrome Extension is available which allows this but in certain organisations these things are restricted.
Make Gannt charts simpler to view. Whilst Smartsheet can be really great for building complex gannt charts, it’s not so good for building very simple ones, where you want to use it in a presentation. Often I resort to Excel or something similar to build myself a very visual timeline. It would be nice to have the option to do a very simple & visual timeline.

For our design process we have standard timelines (project workflows), so it’s great to be able to have a ‘timeline template’ and then copy this out to various projects – whilst also refining the template where needed

We use Smartsheet a lot for task management. It’s very quick and easy to add tasks and manage their status. It’s great to be able to see these tasks as ‘cards’ too so it’s more visual, this is great to see who’s working on what project and how much workload they have on. Being able to move the cards from one person to another is really helpful and easy to do – speeds up workflow!

Smartsheets - Empowers team collaboration and a useful project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
What I enjoy most about Smartsheets is the user friendly interface and flexibility to customise each sheet to your own needs. It's also great for collaborating with other teams and enables me to track different aspects of projects including plans, budgets, RAID items, Actions etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel resource planning could do with some improvements. Ideally I'd like to be able to manage a portfolio of projects and see resource capacity and constrains more easily. Smartsheets does not currently allow me as a PM to plan in working hours and instead defaults to days.
It would be great to have smartsheet workbooks with multiple sheets within a single file.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets allows me to track multiple aspects of projects within a single area and allows me to easily manage access and encourage collaboration between broad project teams. (sometimes working with third parties). We've built a variety of templates in the tool to utilise it as a toolkit for project managers. e.g For project plan templates, RAID logs, Actions logs, Stakeholder Engagement Plans etc, etc.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is one of the tools I use extensively, I have been using Smartsheet for over two years now. I use it extensively as a live tracker with collaborators from various departments to get live updates and knowledge sharing in real time. I use it extensively for surveys and recording live feedback which is critical for my job role. This data is recorded in my profile which will help me analyze historical data when required.

What do you like best about the product?
multiple simultaneous editing. easy export. easy to share and set up form distribution. like forms as it collects data but form users cannot see other data. ability to set and issue reminders. have only little experience with sharepoint but prefer smartsheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
each sheet only has one tab (does not have the same features as excel, that i can see eg LOOKUP). not easy to remove a contributor from all sheets (it appears you have to search for them).not easy to see what sheet each contributor or veiwer can see.

multiple user access and edit, information mgt and distribution, document control, record/data generation and retention, availalbility and security of data. not easy to measur how performance has increased. we don't use it to sell. mgt of 'projects' are set externally.
Good experience with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I find the most helpful part is being kept informed of what is happening around the business and up-to-date with client information. When parts are due and if any have been delayed, I also like the reminders very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think there is much to dislike about Smartsheet, unless we all put a lot of information it can get overlooked but that is more to do with us as a company, than with the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If I have a problem with a client, I can add the relevant person i.e. technical or sales to ask them directly what the problem is and they will then come back to me within a few hours, the good thing about this is not only am I getting my answer, I also have it recorded somewhere of that answer.
Makes my life easier
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of the platform and all the templates that are available by use cases. The one I use the most is Marketing dashboards.

Not exactly a dislike but it took some time to get used to the functionality initially.

Bringing order to chaos
What do you like best about the product?
I love interacting with my entire team and controlling workflows with conversations, reminders and priorities. The power of the proofing tool and brand folder for managing multiple assets is an absolute win for a marketing department.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only gripe is that whenever one views attachments per line item, the attachment panel brings up the entire sheet instead of the attachments per line. This can cause one to upload assets to the entire sheet and not the line item - leading to missing assets amongst the team,

Smartsheet has helped us connect both internal and external teams to align for cadence and project delivery. It is the central point for our teams to connect and ensure we meet deadlines timeously.
