Great collaboration and sharing tool that prioritizes data security.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet facilitates collaboration and information sharing within teams or across departments. It provides a centralized platform where team members can collaborate on projects, update tasks, and track progress in real-time. Also, Smartsheet offers automation features that help streamline repetitive tasks and workflows. Users can set up automated alerts, reminders, and notifications, reducing manual efforts and improving efficiency. But I believe the most important feature is that Smartsheet prioritizes data security and provides robust permission controls. Users can set access levels and permissions for each sheet, ensuring that sensitive information is only accessible to authorized individuals. The platform also offers encryption and compliance with industry standards, making it suitable for my organization, which has strict security requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet can be a bit complex and difficult to navigate, especially when it comes to creating and personalizing dashboards and reports. The interface is not as intuitive as desired. The formatting options for cells, charts, dashboards, and reports are not as extensive or flexible as in dedicated spreadsheet and dashboard applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It offers a familiar spreadsheet-like layout, making it relatively easy for individuals already familiar with spreadsheets to start using and navigating the platform. The ability to easily share sheets and collaborate with others is a great feature. Workflow automation in Smartsheet can save time and ensure that processes are followed consistently. Smartsheet prioritizes data security and provides robust permission controls.
Great software for just about any application.
What do you like best about the product?
What i like most about Smartsheet is the document generation it has helped me streamline quite a few processes here at work, also for project management and keeping you on track.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I don't like is that you can't change the rev system to what you're currently using.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Generating documents has been my favorite thing, it has streamlined many processes here at work. I have plans to streamline more in the near future. It has cut time alot.
Good product, terrible sales practices
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is simple to use. There's enough advanced features that make it scalable to a certain extent. It replaces MS Project for all but the most complex rollouts.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Their first year rate is less than their renewal rate, which is about 20% more. They mention this in some legal document somewhere that nobody reads, and may even mention it in early sales calls supposedly, but the fact that you have to pay more to be a loyal customer is very backwards to any client retention strategy I've ever heard of. Makes me a bit worried about the long term viability of the company...
2. I escalated a sales-side issue to my account exec's manager, Adam Jackson https://www.linkedin.com/in/adam-jackson-84094461 - after many pings across two weeks he has not once responded to me. If this is the level of professionalism and responsiveness I knew to expect from Smartsheet going into it I would have used any one of their competitors. I seriously question Smartsheet's executive leadership if this is the quality of employee they hire to manage teams.
3. I reached out to sales in their chat widget and told them my invoice was incorrect and needed help - they told me that I was in the wrong place and sent me to Finance. The communication style was unprofessional, and ultimately Finance bounced me BACK to Sales to sort it out anyways - so the Sales chat didn't even know where to send me. I'm concerned about the lack of organization and professionalism in their sales side.
4. Renewals are an absolute mess. We received an invoice to pay manually instead of it just coming straight off a credit card like we originally paid with. Probably some setting that we could set ourselves, but this isn't intuitive - we don't have this problem with any other SaaS we use.

It allows us to setup project task lists, assign tasks to users and then create reports for each user that outlines their tasks and for which projects. This makes the to-do list for each person very straightforward without having to hunt through tens (or hundreds) of projects at once to find their tasks.

Seems Simple, but is so Powerful
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great way to track projects, create project plans, set up dashboards, automate processes and organize information. I have been impressed with the customizability of the tool. It takes some time to learn all of the features and functions, so I think having an SME on the team that manages your smart sheet instance is best. I have taken this role with my team and built out a lot of automation, saving our team a lot of manual update work for leadership reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet has so many features and functions that it can be a little overwhelming at first if you are trying to build out processes for your projects. However, I will say that they have a lot of educational material to help with the learning process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the major problems that Smartsheet has solved for my team is the automation of project reporting to leadership. Project managers used to have to complete a weekly spreadsheet with project updates manually. I created an automated report that pulls all appropriate information from active projects into several views that are beneficial for the leadership team. This reduced the manual burden on the project managers and brought more organized information together for leadership review.
Smartsheet Customization
What do you like best about the product?
Our company is using Smartsheet in multiple ways, a project management tool, budgeting, forecasting, etc. I think what I have liked best about this program is the ability to customize it to fit our needs from start to finish. The Smartsheet team is always extremely quick to respond and mindful of our time on meetings to get any issues/questions resolved
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few limitations we have run into with Smartsheet such as our reports exceeding 1,000 sheets which at 1,000 sheets we get an automated message that some data may not be captured. We have been working with our SmartSheet TAM for a workaround.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has been solving our capacity issues. For our stakeholders we need to know just how much someone can take on at a given time/day and also how much time should be allotted for a specific task. We are given tools such at the "task reports" or "resource views" to help with solving who on the team is available or who on the team can take on more
Great tool that fills many team needs
What do you like best about the product?
I mostly use Smartsheet as a Kanban-style task board for my team. It works very well for this purpose and everyone is comfortable and satisfied with using it. We've even implemented some automated dashboarding to report on progress to upper management. We also use Smartsheet to allow other teams to request projects and tasks for my team and to track progress on their requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
We try to use Proof reviews, but they are often cumbersome and irritating to reviewers who don't use Smartsheet as much as my team. Also, I wish there was an easier way to duplicate tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking tasks and projects is a good 70% of the benefit for my team. We want to use it for more project collaboration but have met some resistance outside my department.
Streamlined, Easy way to Collaborate and Track Data
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easy it is to use and how intuative the software is. I also really like how I am able to control individual users' permissions to ensure that people are not modifying data I don't want them to change. I have created spreadhseets, timelines and trackers using Smartsheet and each setup and distribution has been very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Smartsheet can be very slow depending on the volume of data you are trying to manage at a given point in time. It can be very frustrating, especially when working on time-sensitive projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a way to share data across multiple areas of the business with people working in different countries/time zones. Smartsheet allowed for us to create documents and share them with the necessary users while managing their permissions. There is also the ability to see the history in particular cells so you can track changes and reverse errors by being able to see who changed what and when.
Smartsheet Has Been Instrumental
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been very instrumental in helping us convert from a paper oriented business, to one on the cutting edge in our industry. Everything is now electronic and at the fingertips of our staff.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not one thing we can think of that we dislike about Smartsheet. We have been able to use this tool and mold it to our needs. We are constantly thinking up new ways that Smartsheet can help us in our business.

Smartsheet is being used in a multiple of ways whether it being to bring visibility to our departments KPI's to getting project information to our staff out in the field.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a good tool for teams real time update that helps to check the status of work or project. Commands are also friendly user and easy to use and same commands also with excel. Dashboard is also good to visualized the status.
What do you dislike about the product?
With limitations on column and rows but this can be upgraded by the smartsheet in a short time. Dashboard can be also improve by adding different tools that can help for visualization.

Data collaboration with different even in different place and easy to use and access thru website and internet connections. Real time data can be show or check on this application thru dashboard or trackers.
