Smartsheet will keep you organized!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that Smartsheet will keep you organized, no matter how large your team is. The alerts I receive of upcoming conferences are perfect and help kick-off Conference meetings, lets our team know who is attending what, what we need...all the elements that go into not only attending a conference but also sponsoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! In my opinion (coming from a world where Google Docs was king), Smartsheet is my personal pick and can keep everything on track, running smoothly, and allows one to sleep at night!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conference season - it allows us to keep track of what groups are attending the various conferences and if their marketer needs to do anything extra for them (assist with registrations, etc.). Also, if we need change an attendee out, it's a simple edit.
Great for collaborating with clients.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes it easy to share information with a large group of people within our business and with external clients. The reporting features make creating and maintaining Dashboards effortless.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is missing a few fomula functionalities that would be very helpful such as a Time function. In order to capture a specific time that a row is changed you have to send it to another sheet then use a vlookup formula to bring it back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is driving internal programs that deal with general housekeeping and safety. It also helps with time management and tracking employee tasks. We have Smartsheets specific to all of our clients that allow us to find issues and solve them in a timely manner.
Versatile and Helpful
What do you like best about the product?
I started using Smartsheet when I was new to sales operations. Through the templates and tutorials, I quickly elevated my skills and standing in the company. The colorful, adaptive dashboards helped me tell the story behind the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
A few, though not many, features I'm used to in Excel don't translate to Smartsheet. While there are general workarounds, sometimes it is difficult to keep different processes in mind as I work in the different environments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet to manage our company-wide go-to-market planning process. Smartsheet's collaborative features allow my team and our peers in other organizations work together and stay on track.
Up and coming essential platform
What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like the most about Smartsheet is how easy it is to use. The trainings were very insightful and let me use the application easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the email notifications as unless you title your project schedule specifically, it is hard to tell what the notification is for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving the problems of project schedules moving along and keeping projects on track. As well as holding all team members accountable for ensuring their work is completed on time.
Smartsheet: Some benefits over Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet allows me to create sheets and share them with colleagues while easily controlling the level of permissions I want them to have in the sheet as a user.
It's also much easier to create dropdown controls in a Smartsheet workspace when compared to creating and referencing cells in Excel.

What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet does not use/allow identical formula language as Excel, which would allow direct exports from existing sheets.
You cannot resize column 1 as a user despite being able to resize the other columns, so it always takes up space on the screen.
Having to relearn how Smartsheet handles some of it's advanced processes can be tedious, so there are still many times I will simply create a file in Excel.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration across multiple files is improved with Smartsheet. Files don't get lost, and there aren't 10 versions of an Excel sheet clunking around to get people confused.
Smartsheet is a useful, quick and easy-to-use means of planning a project.
What do you like best about the product?
The way steps in a project can be linked together and easily adjusted. If the timescale for a given step changes, it can be adjusted with all other related steps changing automatically. I also like the reminders to save work!
What do you dislike about the product?
Most users will be familiar with Excel spreadsheets. It would be better if the tools and shortcuts available in Excel could be available in Smartsheet too. That would make it a more familiar tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It avoids the need to create complex Project Plans on Excel or other applications, which would require careful review when adjusting timeframes and thus would risk making errors easily.
Great platform for planning and recording project timelines
What do you like best about the product?
Compatibility with Excel, and therefore the ability to copy and paste directly between programmes. The overall view of all projects is also very helpful for our business
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not sure if this is a limitation with the software, or if it is just a functionality that we do not use, but I would like the possibility of linking financial information to rows within the timelines. For example % of an activity completed = xxx in revenue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has become the master reference for project timelines for my team, and the place where management go to review timelins on a per project level, and also to review all projects within the team overall, which helps with planning resoucre
Smartsheets a true enabler for everyday and structured projects
What do you like best about the product?
We are using Smartsheets to manage governance for a variety of project activities. We have managed to connect individual projects to a master tracker and configured smart dashboards and reporting as well as automations, for internal stakeholders, clients and 3rd parties to be kept updated with all associated tasks and outputs. I have personally used several products in the past, however as a team we clearly see the broader value of this product on our day to day activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would like to utilise more of the product ie resource management throughout the broader business, however license costs is a constraint to extend to every user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We love the fact that all the related objects are interconnectable and that you can drill into detail from reports and dashboards with out the need to navigate to different pages.

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using SmartSheet as it is user-friendly and intuitive. It is a fast and easy way to work on the same document with multiple colleagues without having to send and resend the document via email.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I do not like about Smartsheet is the use of Filters. For some reason, sometimes the filters do not work very well and can be a bit annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to keep my files online, easily reachable and accessible from anywhere. It is very helpful to simply share a link with whoever I wish to collaborate with, instead of sending the document via email which I found cumbersome. This also helps keep track of the latest version of the document, I do not need to check if my document is the same as my collaborator's, since we are both working on the same document online.
The tool is helpful in monitoring projects and tasks but there's limitation to the dashboards.

The tool helps me monitor my tasks to myself and subordinates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool does not have an excel (sheet) type of flexibility especially when it comes to merging and formulating and has only limited capacity when it comes to dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring - it helps us complete the deliverables, projects, tasks on a timely manner.
