Move over excel
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Smartsheet gives me automation ability and is so user friendly. The forms option is also extremey helpful when receiving projects from my teammates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to be able to set up reoccurring tasks. There are some automation abilities around scheduling tasks but I would like to be able to say this item happens every 3 weeks and have the gantt reflect that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping me with organization and ensuring people know what information to send me upfront. This saves me lots of time and hassle of going back and forth with the team.
SmartSheet is a shareable and collaborative Microsoft Excel
What do you like best about the product?
I like SmartSheet's ability to be saved and shared real-time. SmartSheet, unlike other online platforms, does not lag which makes user experience very positive. SmartSheet's ribbon pane is also simple and very easy to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment, there is nothing I dislike about SmartSheet. If it weren't for its ability to be shared easily online via email and shareable link, then I would have no use for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage 4 very big projects, all of which are tied to the same initiative. Each project has its own audience and team to support, and having a SmartSheet that is easily identifiable, separate, and built differently for each project allows each audience to use their own creativity in how they want to develop and manage their respective SmartSheet. I find this ability to be fluid with different audiences a key advantage of SmartSheet.
Excellent Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is the simplicity of customizing the grid view and columns for project management. You can get as detailed as you like, include multiple team members, and track progress for projects with many moving parts. One of the hats I wear at my company is continued process improvements in our ERP system, which touches multiple departments. The email notification system is also convenient when an item is assigned to a specific individual and when a task changes its status from not started, in progress, to complete. In addition, a great tool to show executive leadership the progress that is being made in the event you come under review for project status.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about smartsheet is adding users to sheets, and then the user has to accept the invitation to start viewing the sheet. What happens is sometimes I need to chase individuals down and have to walk them through accepting their invitation. Otherwise, no significant complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ultimately, the smartsheet platform is a convenient and effective way to manage projects. Team collaboration and productivity overall is much more effective, especially when there are many individuals involved with providing deliverables that effect the next process improvement from moving forward.
Versatile tool that fills gaps
What do you like best about the product?
Like many companies, we use many tools, and Smartsheet helps fill the gaps in the capability of our other internal tools. Some of our team members use it for project management using the board view; others use it for external communication on projects. It is flexible and versatile, and the ability to share it with users outside of the company with different permission levels is useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve with Smartsheet. There is so much functionality; it can be hard to unlock all the potential immediately. Still learning new tricks and functions after more than a year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
External communication on projects with customer stakeholders that our internal tools do not have the capability for. A project management tool that is robust.
Streamlining Collaboration with Ease
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets is a great tool that helps teams work together and get things done smoothly. It has a simple and easy-to-use screen where you can create and manage tasks, deadlines, and important points for your projects. This way, everyone knows what needs to be done and when. With reminders and notifications, everyone stays on track and nobody forgets anything. Smartsheets has lots of different templates and ways to make it fit exactly what you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though Smartsheets is awesome, there are some areas where it can improve. Some of the advanced features like formulas and integrations might be hard for new users to learn. They could make it easier for beginners to understand. Also, the pricing plans might be expensive for small businesses or people who only need basic features. They could have more affordable options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving the problem of keeping projects organized and helping our teams work together smoothly. It benefits us by making it easy to create and manage tasks, deadlines, and important points for our projects.
Essential Tool for Efficient Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Real-time collaboration provides a centralized platform for teams to work together efficiently. Team members can easily share sheets, make comments, attach files, and assign tasks. The ability to mention colleagues and tag them in discussions adds an extra layer of clarity and accountability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning curve. Educating many people, such as divisions and other subsidiaries, is difficult. While the learning curve is manageable, it may require time and effort to become proficient and maximize the tool's potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves unorganized workflows and tasks among teams. Smartsheet helps streamline workflows and where teams can track tasks and deadlines. It eliminates any unnecessary meetings and enables more work productivity.
Seamless program that is a big improvement from standard Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of editing cells (able to drag columns), filtering (creating and saving specific filters), and conditional formatting. I also like the ease of tagging users in the organization to a task.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not too fond of the date formatting sometimes; I cannot have the calendar pop up when I format a date. I like the conditional formatting tool and the ease of creating formatting. Still, sometimes the formatting does not carry over from row to row, and when I try to edit the formatting, it does not carry over from the previous row.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a Project Engineer, procurement is one of the essential parts of the job in the construction industry. Smartsheet helps create a procurement log that takes less time to manage/update daily.
Smartsheet is great for project management!
What do you like best about the product?
We use Smartsheet mostly for project management. Before Smartsheet, we used a clunky homemade SharePoint site format that was very difficult to navigate. Smartsheet has a great layout and we're able to pull data up into reports and dashboards to quickly and easily show stakeholders where a project is at in it's lifecycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have had a lot of issues connecting Jira to Smartsheet and then on to Resource Management. This has gotten better over time, but it was a very difficult setup to get right. Mostly because all three systems see time differently, so we had to put some pretty complex calculations in place to make it work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smatsheet is helping us manage projects better and report on the progress of projects (RAID log, status, overdue tasks, etc.)

What do you like best about the product?
The dashboarding capabilities and the forms - set up is easy and understandable, and there are so many different options for visualization in the dashboards. Similarly with forms, the ability to create specific rules and triggers is so helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is not really an effective tool for task management, especially cross-team task management. Compared to tools like Asana or Monday, Smartsheet doesn't make cross- team task collaboration as easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall project managment - we use Smartsheet for project roadmapping and budget management. Smartsheet has made our budget process very effective in tracking spend against available budget in the many varied budget lines owned by our team.
Incredibly Valuable Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing inside Smartsheet is the customization. I have been looking for a tool that does exactly what Smartsheet does, Excel can be messy, but Smartsheets gives you a full range of possibilities!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont have many downsides besides the tool being available online only. If this tool could be developed to work in an offline setting, it would be much better as we have run into issues using it while it is under maintenance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Onboarding has been a pain point in tracking and since switching to Smartsheet, we have become more productive and much more organized.
