Love SMARTSHEETS
What do you like best about the product?
I love that the program interacts with everything else that we do. It user friendly, and plenty of learning tools to help advance to the next level. I love that the forms can auto-update.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't get to use it as much as I would like since other colleges don't. I also wish that our CTC would take the plunge and leave excel although they are easy to convert into smartsheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has filled in the gap in our current program. Certain things that we could not due previously are now being done with Smartsheets. Which saves time and time is money
Fully customizable project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a very customizable project management tool that can be developed based on the users/teams' preference and needs. If you prefer a high level tracking system, Smartsheet will work, but if you prefer to have granular details on multiple projects and stages, Smartsheet is capable of meeting that need as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet can take a bit of time getting used to and I would recommend starting out small at a high level before trying to track a project at a very detailed level on your first few months. That is nothing wrong with Smartsheet per say, but it can be overwhelming at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has helped our team to no longer miss deadlines and to have ambiguity on who on the team is completing what task. We are able to list out each component of the project which really allows our team to think more into the planning phase of the project and complete key tasks prior to execution which makes things much easier.

- Cloud based only. Does not allows to work offline.

makes it easy to plan, capture, manage, and report on work from anywhere, helping teams to be more effective and get more done. Report and real-time visibility into work as it happens keeps the team connected and informed
Smartsheets is easy to use but there is room for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to see how time is managed and the user experience is easier to use than any other systems I have used previously. I like how you can assign people to each task easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The gantt feature is hard to set up and use. I would like to know how to use the other areas that I do not understand but I am not sure how I would do this so that would be good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is making it easier to collaborate on projects. It saves time and makes everything mote productive and easier to manager. My team work well together now we use it.
Good for high level planning, time consuming for complex/detailed project and resource planning.
What do you like best about the product?
The predecessors function is super helpful in connecting rows, and it's a simplistic layout/feels familiar, as it is like a spreadsheet. The login and admin management process is very easy/intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Resource management is too reliant on multiple capturing and entering data from elsewhere. It's hard to know what smartsheet can do unless you spend a lot of time getting to grips with all the how to videos - which as a manager I simply don't have time for.

We use smartsheet to offer a high level breakdown of the project milestones and key delivery dates. It has become a useful reference and forecasting tool but does not support us in the day to day project management.
Great for Automations and Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a handy tool in keeping track of everyone's time and tasks. From a project management standpoint, it is handy to make sure that all members of the team are notified ahead of time.
It's also great that you can keep files and links within the cells, there are many ways to maximize these features.

What do you dislike about the product?
It has a lot of nifty features, but you need to have a lot of time to understand the features in your own time, or get certified.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the ways that we use Smartsheets is to track all of our projects across all verticals in one place. It is a tool that can reference other sheets, and having a master tracker that links to smaller projects come in handy on a regular basis.
Smartsheet's automation functions are invaluable to my role.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet provides automation options that you can customise. Linking sheets and cells for reporting and dashboards are very dynamic which is something you can't get with using excel.

It does have some limitations with the child and parent lines and applying functions to those.
You can only apply the function to include the parent, but would be more helpful to have the option to include the children.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidating project tasks and alerts to when tasks are due or product has arrived to site.
With Health and Safety, I use smartsheet to alert me automatically when training is required, when incident reports are lodged.

Efficient and reliable as repository file system
What do you like best about the product?
it alllows me to have a one and onle point in common with suppliers to ensure all docs needed for our commercial relationship are in the same place, dated and controlled
What do you dislike about the product?
The person that receives a notification when sending a row receives a quite complex notification, they don't pereceive it as an email and there is risk they think is either spam or just another uncomfortable notification and they try to avoid reaing the email as the subject is quite long/daunting

-Making sure I have a timestamp for when files where sent so no chance to argue

Using Smartsheets for IPD Construction Projects
What do you like best about the product?
Our team used Smarsheets to share information with all of the team members on our construction project. It allowed the Owner, architect, and trade partners to collaborate, share information, and track progress on one platform. We were able to set up a project dashboard that reported the progress of construction and financials to the Owner on one sheet that pulled data from other collections of data. The ability to have multiple team members working on the platform and updating information simultaneously is what was very useful to us. It was easy to share with team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is just different enough from Microsoft Excel that it took some getting used to. There was definitely a learning curve. Training materials were helpful, but took some time to get used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work on construction projects that have several team members and a lot of information that needs to be tracked. Sharing and updating this information in a timely manner is one of the issues Smartsheets helped us solve.
Often times we have been using multiple programs to track progress and finances, which can be a burden. It was nice to have a single project dashboard that was able to compile a lot of this information in one place on one platform.

What do you like best about the product?
Automation. I love how someone can submit an action through the Smartsheet, and it will then travel to the next person it needs to. When people ask me about Smartsheets, I explain that it's like Excel but on steroids. What a phenomenal product!
What do you dislike about the product?
I've been using Smartsheets for about three years and have never encountered any issues. If I do, it would be shocking, and I would kindly let you know :). It's and great product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solved my day-to-day work duties. It cut all my tasks in half, if not more. All of my job duties have become so much easier, and I've become more sufficient. What a phenomenal product!
