SmartSheet Dashboards Help Manage Project
What do you like best about the product?
I've used SmartSheet at my company to create status reports, maintain documents for our large project and to monitor the project budget. I like that SmartSheet can be a one stop shop for our project status check.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some things that took a little getting used to. Such as finding the document library and the best way to organize the documents attached to different cells in the smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am grateful to have the details for the project in one place that is accessible both by our internal team as well as by the leadership team at my organization.
Smartsheet is a good but product with room for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Usable by multiple users, an intuitive data management system. Searchable help pages and a user network that has many answers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks integration with some other applications, useful tools are paywalled in a prohibitive fashion for large organizations. Issues with separating access and administrative rights at different organizational levels across licenses and integrating valid data to different license levels within an organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data collection across multiple programmatic axes with realtime adjustment and notification for addressing users' needs and guiding necessary inputs which has led to a smaller team being able to be more responsive to our large user group getting the data they need when it is needed.
Grant Management
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to link external applications such as Outlook and Teams to sheets. I also utilize the forms function often. The ability to fill offline forms in the field dramatically increases efficiency. I predominantly use Smartsheet for managing grants. These activities include tracking deliverables, budgeting, work schedules, and other data logs. Smartsheet has also worked well for collaborating on sheets with other organizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I still lean on Excel for computing. Smartsheet is more limited in this space and difficult to use. In other words, if I were to do any sort of data analysis, I use Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall organization. Keeping many programs and projects organized can be difficult for a small staff. Administrative time is a heavy burden that detracts from implementation. Smartsheet allows us to manage schedules and assign tasks far in advance. Having assigned tasks, on schedule, with automated emails is a great benefit.

Smartsheet is very user-friendly. It was easy to figure out how to use smartsheet, but if there was something I wasn't sure about how to do, there were many resources to help me out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet had more color options on the grid or calendar section. I ran out of colors quickly when trying to organize the calendar. Custom colors would be very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is my company's primary calendar. We rely heavily on our calendar to track our projects and every one in our division uses the calendar so being able to have an easy to use program has been great.
Great tool for client - internal visibility
What do you like best about the product?
Dashboards and reports are very helpful in reporting project status to our clients and our direction. It makes meetings more fluid since everything can be gathered in one simple report or dashboard
What do you dislike about the product?
I think graphs can improve. Graphs cannot be done from a report, and sometimes it is difficult to make them on specific information, formulas need to be created on a sheet so data can be presented.

Using Excel/teams? This is the better way
What do you like best about the product?
Ability t create excel files that we would typically track - expirations, data, etc. and avoid duplication by entering data once. Love the visibility it has for project management, dashboards, reports, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not 100% like for like in formulas, which makes its like learning a new software.
Sessions are not available immediately, so scheduling them in advance is helpful.
Metrics and Graphs could be better - feel like there is limited manipulation - would like some combo graphs (IE line/bar combos, waterfall, etc.)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a trauma center, we use dashboards and data automation to collaborate better.
It is phenomenal as a project management tool, data imported by staff is then seen very clearly once a framework has been established.

Smartsheet for project planning is great
What do you like best about the product?
smartsheet is really great for tracking project status / project planning. there are ways to notify team members when it's time for them to start a report because a renewal was delivered (for example). it would be great if calender invites could be send from smartsheet as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think smartsheet is very user friendly. I also have a hard time understanding the dashboards that can be made and how it can be shared with clients without oversharing information that is needed for behind the scenes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
smartsheet helps me and my team stay organized for project planning during our clients open enrollment which is a very busy time. we have to make sure carriers are on accountable and with smartsheet i am notfified if deadlines are missed etc.
My everything app
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is very versatile. No matter what is the nature of the project I am working on, I can use Smartsheet to plan and track every single step. It can be as detailed or high level as it needs to be, and very easy to configure.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I particularly dislike about Smartsheet, it may not be as flashy as other applications but I think this is actually a good thing, i am not particularly interested any distracting visuals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is very versatile, I can easily taylor my project plan to the deliverables and can store the relevant documentation/attachements and comments from stakeholders. Additionaly, the automation features mean that I don't need to prompt other users to complete their tasks on time.
It's A New Way of Managing Projects
What do you like best about the product?
Depending on your demands, Smartsheet has many functions that are now accessible can be used in different ways. I can simply manage the teams who have access to the many data sets. Switching between the project's various stages is the accomplished via the card view and lanes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing that annoys me is that the sites don't update in real-time.
I believe it still cannot link data from sources other than the Smartsheet workspace.
Additionally, there are restrictions on data visualization possibilities, and dealing with huge datasets occasionally results in performance problems.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps a lot in tracking the status of applications for our company or in CRM. Thank's to it I've developed many semi-automated processes that are helpful in my job. I've been able to use the dashboard views both privately and publicly to confirm that projects are moving along according to schedule.
Easy and effective to use
What do you like best about the product?
I like how it is so easy to share with people and easy to understand. It is very similar to excel which enables a wide range of people to use it. Should there be any issues the team at smartsheet are on hand to help and are very helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
My collegues and I did experience multiple issues when swapping from our free account to when we got livcences. They were different account that we had to create with the same email when we would of expected our first account to just be upgraded.

We are currenly involved in a large scale project which involves a lot of document control and sharing. Smartsheet allows us to have this all in one place which all parties can access whereas before we had issues with different organisations not being able to open links due to security
