Align your workflow to Smartsheet's ideal else be in for a clunky time
What do you like best about the product?
Automations make life easier. Summary fields remove the need for cross-sheet references and bulky cell formulas. Update requests keep things manageable. Other options don't compare. Sticking with smartsheet's bread and butter functionality and designing your process to work with smartsheet rather than the other way around will keep life simpler.
What do you dislike about the product?
No built-in function to handle time-type data; in fact, you actively have to adjust for system date-time columns to perform age or date ranking functions. We need a time-type column. There's workarounds for most anything, but once you start relying on cross-sheet references to surface data or pull specific references you need to take great care else things get prone to breaking or not updating intuitively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving the problem of keeping track of an excess of active projects and their relative progress. Forms allow for easy data collection and periodic check in.
Powerful Project Management and Robust tool
What do you like best about the product?
Perfect tool with many automation and integrations within a single SAAS tool. Saves time to manage resources using calendar and roster management. Tracks completion of project timelines and sends a reminder as automation is set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the grid, once the auto number is added, you cannot delete the same number and use it again. There should be a way to use same auto number just not to break consistency
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You can define who can view, edit, admin or owner to a sheet. This helps build constructive role control for particular grids, items, reports or dashboards. Now without thinking, you can control who can edit specific rows which are assigned to them only.
Wonderful Tool
What do you like best about the product?
So many different options to choose from when it comes to project management. The views, the templates, the workflows. The several different ways each of these can be used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very costly to develop something specific to what my team needs, we use the templates and I tweak them quite a bit for my needs but anything extra is very costly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking and management of hundreds of projects and the cumulation of 1,000+ tasks to complete across all of these projects. From when the project is submitted as a "won" project to entering it into our manufacturing system to delivery to our customer. All of the details required for these steps are managed start to finish from Smartsheet.
Project Management and personal organizer
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful features are Automation, sending notifications and reminders, displaying data in different formats, creating Dashboards to display data summaries, with all different levels of access.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Smartsheet is the need for contributors to create free accounts in order to collaborate on gathering data. The free accounts begin as fully paid accounts that expire after a certain period of time - it is a bit confusing for these users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves the problem of having all necessary project related data, reports, and dashboards in one place, being able to share online resources and it is also useful for personal task management.
Value for money but can be a little buggy
What do you like best about the product?
Custom fields for cards, automation, different layout (card,spreadsheet,gant), non licensed members. Hipaa compliant is also one of the biggest factors why we chose smartsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can feel really buggy sometimes, not saving the board, not super easy to use. People say it's like a low cost jira. But jira is so complicated and hard to set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for many teams. The best solution it provided us is tracking and assigning work for different members. We also use it for our product team to capture our backlogs. Also we use it in our sales team to keep portfolio and sales status for our clients.
Great project management tool without the steep learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet combines some of the best features from MS Project and excel, to turn it into a pragmatic management tool for smaller, agile projects. It is very easy to pick up and can be a great tool to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some gaps when compared to the scheduling and Gantt features in MS Project. For instance, there are some bugs that occur when setting milestones, and when linked tasks are updated, the miletone does not get updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management and collaboration with internal team members. Presenting customers with a consolidated schedule that can be accessible without the need to install software.
Smartsheet's is very helpful
What do you like best about the product?
I think Smartshhets is helpful because I can keep track of deals and info. If someone is out, we can put notes and know all the updates on a customer. Also, we can see who did what and deleted what on smart sheets. Defebtly helpful and organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have much of what I dislike. But I do wish it would be easier to pull info without hitting control F. Also, Making it a bit harder for staff to delete information by mistake.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smart sheets help keep all of our staff informed and updated on the status of a customer and inventory info.
Gret Tool for Project Managment
What do you like best about the product?
The Smartsheets tool is ideal for creating reports, project status updates, and project control in Gantt format. It provides greater accuracy in deliverables, scope, and improvements in current processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
In certain areas of reporting, it has many deficiencies in resource management. Additionally, there are frequent issues with bugs in project plan creation, especially in the predecessors.

What do you like best about the product?
Managing information in a structured manner is made easy with features like automation (API), workflows, and permission breakdown by specific cells. Another great advantage is the ability to maintain a standardized and organized view of your work, with options to adjust column size and button placement.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that really bothers me is the inability to create macros similar to Excel. Even though the API is strong, it seems like nobody wants to devote time to the as developer mode.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One way to streamline data control is by collaborating in a manner that doesn't require imposing restrictions or complex requirements on users. By simplifying the process and allowing greater user control, a workflow can be established for managing data effectively.
Smartsheet - Easy, Efficient, and Smooth
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to make sheets and reports. The automation emails have been a complete life changer for our department. We mostly use it for HR purposes but can't imagine our list without it.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a workspace sponsored Smartsheet, so sometimes we can't add new features to our plan without permission and/or with an upcharge. I wish there were more trainings, but our institute seems aware and creating a space for this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a shadow system to our institute's HR system which only supports the recruiting portion of HR. We needed a way to collect information but also inform various stakeholders throughout the entire hiring cycle.
