I have never HATED a software with the same passionate loathing as I hate SmartSheets

Smartsheets makes it easy to create lists with sub-lists.
What do you dislike about the product?
Where do I start? First and foremost is their subscription model and the quarterly "true-ups" that they try to sell you is somehow for YOUR benefit instead of theirs. Now rather than creating users and, for the most part, forgetting about them until they leave the company I have to manually manage and review all of my users every quarter.
Smartsheets doesn't stop them from editing sheets like it did before for 'free' users so now they all edit sheets and become provisional members that I have to review every quarter. Because reviewing this EVERY SINGLE QUARTER is absolutely the best use of my valuable time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nothing that a well designed Google Doc strategy couldn't do for 1/2 the cost and effort.
Great for centralization for forms, dashboards, and projects for improved transparency.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and share information with customers. We are able to track complex issue resolution with our customers and provide real time status.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve to overcome when setting up advanced features, and there are some limits to customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets helps us share information and data with external customers and provide real time transparency, allowing us to manage our time more efficiently. Customers can view updates on demand via the Smartsheets vs us having to review the information in a meeting with them.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is that your employer can make a sheet for the jobs that you need. I also like that you don’t need WiFi availability to do the forums/sheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful thing about sheets is that we should be able to keep the basic information, we need In the forum/sheet. The thing I don’t like about Smartsheet is theirs not all the features of other apps that can do the same, that I’m aware of like dark mode, sign stuff digitaly.

It is solving the issue of doing it digitally instead of hand writing and sending the information via a scan of the paper

There aren’t many drawbacks, but I would like to see a more user-friendly interface that makes it easier to integrate with technical applications such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Excel, and Procore.

What do you like best about the product?
Having everything centralized under 1 project. Also, automation and updating things is easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to click save constantly is tedious. Sometimes things are over-written if there are a couple of folks working at the same time.

Resourcing and assigning allocation to team members within an organization. From a project management perspective, it's easy to update schedules, and have a centralized place for everything on a project.

Complex way to adapt file raise to keep format, wasting time to get flows and the lack of AI to creat draft versions.

What do you like best about the product?
The most like about is the interface with powerful project management, automation, and collaboration tools. The grid view is instantly familiar to anyone who has used Excel or Google Sheets, which dramatically reduces training time and user resistance. Native integrations with core apps like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, and Salesforce create a seamless workflow across platforms. Create rich, visual dashboards with charts and metrics to give stakeholders an at-a-glance view of project health and performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is significantly more expensive than many competitors (like Asana or Trello), especially for teams that need advanced features or many users. The pricing can be a barrier for small businesses or startups. While simple task tracking is easy, building complex automated workflows, dashboards, and formulas requires significant technical skill and training, often needing a dedicated admin or "power user.

Frees up your team to focus on high-value work instead of administrative tasks. Increases speed and ensures processes are followed consistently, reducing human error and oversight. Provides instant, at-a-glance visibility for stakeholders at all levels. This enables proactive management, helps identify bottlenecks early, and makes reporting effortless and data-driven.

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful aspect of Smartsheet is the dashboard and quick access to necessary information; this helps to sort and organize multiple sheets and points of interest efficiently. Having the synchronized sheets in real time with multiple users within the same team allows for effective knowledge transfer and updated communication. It is effective to have multi-purpose functions such as forms, calendars, notification reminders, and data storage
What do you dislike about the product?
An auto-save function would enhance the user experience
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a single-source data, workflow, and task management hub that has shared access with colleagues and supervisors has solved for issues such as reduction in administration tasks, addressing errors in scheduling, and clearing up miscommunication
Great, complicated product
What do you like best about the product?
We have found Control Center to be a very powerful tool in keeping our resources organized. We are a service provider, we accept multi-sample project submissions through a form and then track progress of each project, each sample through sheets generated with Control Center. We are able to record data as we proceed and have our overview sheets update immediately, allowing us to actively track all projects in our queue at once
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be very hard to follow the flow of information through SmartSheet. Between forms, automations, archiving workflows, and formulas, we have found it hard to track ownership of assets and the sources of certain pieces of information. We have resources that don't appear to be owned by anyone and SS has not been able to track them down, we have lost assets with team members leaving that we did not know would disappear. It can also be difficult to utilize the formulas- I have found there are may limitations to the formulas that are not intuitive to an experienced Excel user
