Robust Project Management with Smartsheet, Needs Better Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Smartsheet effectively addresses source of truth issues that exist when using excel or other similar software. By allowing me to share specific data attributes (columns) with stakeholders with read and/or write permissions via Dynamic View without having outdated or disparate datasets. I enjoy its powerful features in reports like filtering, grouping, and summarizing, and then the ability to share the report or dashboard (publish) or email the report on recurring schedules. Connectors, like Jira and Microsoft Dynamics 365, have allowed me to gain insights with the data in those systems in ways a could not have without utilizing Smartsheet
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that Smartsheet is not sufficiently robust in its collaboration features. Additionally, I dislike the current limitations in automation, specifically the inability to have automations interact with sheet summary fields. Smartsheet would be able to replace so many more systems if it could natively support dynamic dropdown lists in both sheets and forms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet to solve source of truth issues, allowing me to share specific data attributes with stakeholders, enhancing data management and accessibility.

Smartsheet can be used as both a scheduling software and data storage. Everything is in one place.

No dislikes at the moment. Everything is running smoothly.

General dashboard & easy cross sheet referencing
What do you like best about the product?
Certain formulas that simplify lookups or calculations on your sheet.
Possibility to indicate that a formula is column type, so calculation is always done when adding new lines to a sheet.
Creating dashboards from reports that combine multiple sheets is a great way to represent a board to have a general view on projects. The different options to add on the dashboard is wide and adds to have a nice visual.
Having the possibility to create reports/dashboard that are shared with multiple department but will only show data for the user that is opening the file is easy in use and creates personal views without the hassle of alot of actions to do this.

Sometimes slow in the application for loading reports.
Limitation on formulas that were common in Excel that are not present in Smartsheet, but there were also formulas that were new that are handy.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a view on all projects in 1 view (dashboard) and making sure that the team is up to date with all different projects and releases that are being done for our brand.
Not having 10 different files to open but having 1 dashboard were each employee can have their personal one and click on which type to follow up and adapt the data within the reports.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has helped me track a lot of my jobs within my line of work. I tend to have about on average 50 jobs.
Before I used to use excel in order to track it but since I started using Smartsheet it has helped me a lot. The main reason it has been useful because both me and my other colleague can work on it at the same time. They can update the jobs via their phones and tablets.

Right now, there isn’t much to dislike but that’s because I haven’t learnt everything that Smartsheet can do

Highly flexible and intuitive platform for managing projects and tracking progresses, deliverables, documentation. I appreciate its ability to integrate with other tools and automate workflows, which helps streamline repetitive tasks. Smartsheet support team has been extremely responsive and knowledgeable

It has some limitations when it comes to building advanced charts and reports. The customization options for visualizing data are somewhat restricted, which can make it harder to present insights in a dynamic or visually compelling way.

What I find most helpful about Smartsheet is that it provides a single, flexible platform for managing work and ensuring everyone stays aligned. Many other tools tend to focus solely on task tracking, spreadsheets, or project management individually, but Smartsheet brings all of these elements together in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
The size and performance limits of sheets can become an issue, as large or complex sheets may slow down or reach row and cell restrictions. There is also a learning curve; while the tool is powerful, it can feel overwhelming initially. Cost is another consideration, since accessing advanced features often requires higher-tier licenses or additional add-ons. The mobile app has its own limitations, offering fewer features compared to the desktop version. When it comes to reporting and visuals, the options are less flexible than what you would find in dedicated BI tools.

Smartsheet greatly enhances organization, transparency, and efficiency by bringing all project information, tasks, and communications together on a single platform. This approach helps minimize delays and miscommunication, while providing teams with clear insight into responsibilities, upcoming deadlines, and possible bottlenecks. By making collaboration more seamless and automating routine workflows, it saves time, boosts accountability, and helps keep projects progressing smoothly and as planned.
Smartsheet has been a huge support to my daily workload.
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the editing options on Smartsheet as well as the automation. The back end is user friendly and very customizable which is helpful in my line of work.
What do you dislike about the product?
What can be slightly frustrating with Smartsheet is the occasional lags or outages and front end sheet errors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps with organization and record keeping. What we primarily use it for is tracking time off requests for our agents/supervisors. We are able to easily filter and mark entries off. The automation is especially helpful as it cuts out the middleman and makes workflow easier and efficient.

The spreadsheet-like interface makes it easy to get started, but with much more power for tracking tasks, setting automated alerts, sharing updates in real time, and integrating with other tools.

What do you dislike about the product?
Performance speed lags especially when you are using the desktop app. It doesn't have an easy way to copy/paste links from desktop app. Formulas are not intuitive to learn. Some integrations and advanced features are locked behind higher pricing tiers, which is limiting for smaller teams who are on restricted grant budgets. Our organization had to move to a business enterprise solution which made it extremely expensive per user license so we can't assign licenses to everyone on our team.

Team collaboration, workflow automation, centralizes project information, provides transparency and improves cross-team collaboration.

What do you like best about the product?
The layouts are easy to design and allow multiple users to view and update.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would like to be able to automate more to the data updates and loading in a smartsheet.

We use Smartsheet to capture and manage report requests. We also use it in a number of areas to track and save patient health measures.
