What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is its incredible combination of a familiar spreadsheet interface with powerful enterprise-grade features. Because it starts with a grid, user adoption was much faster on my team than with other traditional project management tools. The ability to switch between Grid, Gantt, and Card views instantly is crucial for managing diverse project types.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main area for improvement is definitely the learning curve for advanced features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before we implemented Smartsheet, our project data was highly fragmented, living in a mix of Google Sheets, Excel files, and email chains. This led to frequent confusion about status and ownership.

Practical and easy management of processes in the workplace

What do you like best about the product?
A great software within the company that brings together common ideas and opinions in many areas of business processes. When work is for everyone, it makes sense when it is managed collaboratively by everyone in a shared space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the ‘primary column’ is useful, it can sometimes cause problems. I think it shouldn't be just ‘text’.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use SmartSheet to track project management and business processes in particular. We have also recently decided to structure and track work related to Quality Management System documentation, paperwork, and process management on SmartSheet.

This allows people to track the latest job management on a shared platform. Real-time feedback and actions can be taken.

Highly flexible task management tool

What do you like best about the product?
This is a highly flexible task management tool that can be adapted to a wide range of use cases. It is straightforward to implement, and the end user experience is positive, especially if you are already familiar with MS Excel, as it has a similar feel. I use this product daily for project management, and it provides me with valuable insights across my entire portfolio.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support can be quite inconsistent; sometimes, the responses are very generic and don't go beyond the obvious. Additionally, my account manager changes frequently, which makes it challenging to receive consistent advice. The add-on modules that provide extra functionality can be quite expensive, making them less cost-effective for smaller businesses or those with only a few users. I haven't made much use of the integrations, but I think it would be beneficial if these were further developed, especially in terms of visualisation, since the dashboards can appear rather outdated.

My main concern with Smartsheet is related to data integrity. Because it is a collaborative tool, if you want people to update sheets via forms or reports, you have to grant them access to the underlying sheet. This sheet often contains master data that you might not want everyone to see or edit. This aspect really needs more consideration, as addressing it could unlock many more use cases for the platform.

Pretty much the entire GUI and experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It isn't benefiting me at all it's just a mandatory service that I dislike immensely.

Stay on top of Tasks

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that I can view my tasks as soon as they are assigned to me, and I also like that my coworkers are able to see when I have completed them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigating through the different sheets can be a bit challenging. There isn't any support available when you get lost, which makes it more difficult to find your way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has been instrumental in helping our team keep track of tasks that might otherwise slip through the cracks. I appreciate being able to easily identify which team member to approach for support when questions come up. The use of different sheets for tracking and posting also helps me stay organized and focused.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a powerful tool for managing projects and data, especially when it comes to reporting. I like it for its ability to create complex, customizable reports that pull information from multiple sheets and present it in a clear, actionable way. It makes tracking progress, consolidating data, and sharing updates with stakeholders much easier and more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
The primary disadvantage of Smartsheet is that building formulas can be challenging and feels less intuitive compared to other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I appreciate the ability to create detailed checklists, as well as the option to build an entire portal. This combination makes the experience both flexible and powerful for organizing my work.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the simplicity of it compared to MS project - smartsheet is far easier to use and understand as a part time project manager.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that my password and login is not saved, and that the system kicks me out all the time if I am not using it. The login process is too long on my system - I have to enter my email (and the field doesn't save so I have to type it in each time), wait for an email to be sent to me with a code, and then enter the code.

I also don't like that when I import excel sheets containing formulas, the formulas don't come across despite me asking the system to import the formulas. I also don't like that in the same exercise I then have to go in and re-designate a date column as a date column from a text column - why can't smartsheet see that this is a date column.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us track timelines between us and our vendors

Experience has gone downhill

What do you like best about the product?
This tool is great for collaborating across many people in real-time. The ability to customize dashboards and reports is great, athough until you have quite a bit of experience with it it's clunky to figure out how to best utilize.
What do you dislike about the product?
A few years ago we had a spectacular account manager who was very attentive to our needs and very active in helping us get the most of our solution but that service/support is now basically completely non-existent. We recently did a large build-out of a control center environment and it was a painful process, and one where we are left with something that still doesn't meet our needs. On top of that, the recent change in service and contracting structure no longer meets our needs. This tool takes a lot of manual effort for us to manage and without a better level of support its no longer worth our time and effor to invest in and we are seeking out alternative options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Budget management, marketing project timeline management; currently not a major benefit and could be doing the same with an excel file

The constant minutiae and maintenance of changes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Approval workflows and establishing delegation of authority across various departments. Creating a log of all our requests allows us to audit and drill down into the data.
