Flexable and Open Ended Project Management Software with Severe Drawbacks
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets works really simular to using microsoft excel or google sheets for project managments. There are automations and workflows that are extreemly powerful and flexable for many different projects I use it for.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheets is not always intuative. There was a lengthy onboarding process for this tool and it was challenging for many of my collegues who were 50+ years old to understand how to use the software. They just decided not to use it and couldn't find the value in transitioning to this tool from their existing workflow. For the flexability this software has, there are still some headscratching "why does this need to be so hard" moments where it takes setting up what would be simple projects on other project managment systems minutes takes smartsheets hours. I don't have that kind of time or dedicated project manage to spend hours on setting up projects which caused my team to only use it for select projects and not use it for the main project intake ticketing requests.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets collects my employees monthly work and goals and lays it out nicely into a dashboard. This is effective for me as a leader because my entire team has a consitent place to log projects, time spent, and goals setting.
Smartsheet Streamlined Our HR SOP Management
What do you like best about the product?
We’ve been using Smartsheet to manage our HR standard operating procedures (SOPs), and it’s been a total game-changer. The platform offers an intuitive and flexible way to organize, track, and update our processes — something that’s crucial in HR, where documentation and consistency are everything.
One of the standout features is the ability to create dynamic templates and workflows, which saves us a ton of time when rolling out new SOPs or updating existing ones. The collaborative capabilities are also impressive — our team can leave comments, tag team members, and make real-time updates, eliminating the need for endless email chains.
We’ve also found Smartsheet’s automation tools super helpful. For recurring tasks like onboarding checklists or performance review reminders, setting up automated alerts ensures nothing falls through the cracks. The reporting and dashboard features give us clear visibility into the status of each SOP and help us quickly identify any gaps or overdue items.
Overall, Smartsheet has helped us streamline our HR operations, keep everyone aligned, and maintain the level of organization and accuracy we need. I’d highly recommend it to any HR team looking to bring structure and efficiency to their SOP management.

If I had to point out one area for improvement, it would be the learning curve for more advanced features — but the wealth of available resources and customer support make up for it.

Automation of SOPs, scalable structure for simple tasks and large-scale projects. seamless integration with other tools we're using at Impartner.

Smartsheet has been a very important support site for our client billing process and overtime payment to our employees, it provide us organized information to ensure accuracy in our daily activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes information doesn't get updated quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gathers information that our employees save in this site to collect overtime in the billing process and to pay employees.
We love it and our clients do too!

I love how easy it is to share our content with our clients. And how easy it is to see the changes they have made!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were a way to auto-sort content by date in the grid view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's allowed us to share content from our marketing/social media calendar with our client/subject matter experts with ease. Not only do they like the way the content is shared for approval, we can see the changes they make to the content which helps save time with our proofreading department.
Using smartsheet for school club
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how user-friendly Smartsheet is. I am able to scroll through the app and use it to keep track of submissions through a separate portal. It is helpful as I can also transport my work to Excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the functionality of Smartsheet to an extent. Sometimes when I scroll to the bottom I can't see the last row on my document.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives me one place to see all submissions on Smartsheet from users. We have been able to program it to make linestream this process. It puts all of my data in one, organzied sheet.
The best real-time Excel spreadsheet app
What do you like best about the product?
It's so simple that teams can begin using it immediately. Even more advanced functions like report pages are as straightforward as learning a pivot table.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's just that there's sometimes clear limitations in what the product is intended to do, it's an Excel-based platform but not necessarily a record keeping system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Good for creating gantt charts of production timelines and dependencies. Easily exported to XLSX format, easy to assign notifications and was helpful for quickly establishing a basic assignment of tasks related to overall project timelines
Smartsheet makes it really easy to keep track of tasks that need input from multiple departments.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to create a new sheet and add collaborators to the sheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet automatically saved once an update was made.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team doesn't have to guess where things are at or do extra digging to figure it out because it is all tracked in the Smartsheet.
Collaboration and Organization
What do you like best about the product?
It allows for organization of information at the origin of information being created and recieved which really makes collaborating with multiple teams easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish printing sheets was optimized for actually viewing on a piece of paper if needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is allowing for deadlines to be shared easily and for teams to communicate information in more accessible format.
Helpful tool for tracking of processes and deliverables
What do you like best about the product?
Functionality is helpful for process and deliverable tracking - it's simple to use which is key to actually using it. I use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support team is not as responsive or available as other tools.

Tracking tool - much better than an excel tracker since it has the added functionality
