Smartsheet is a fantastic, easy-to-use software product that can be used for numerous applications
What do you like best about the product?
I use it for inventory purposes and programme management - the functionality enabling auto-notifications to colleagues is really excellent and helps reduce email traffic whilst ensuring important information is captured centrally and available for audit purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The True-Up model....still can't delete people or change to Viewer only....default is for a paid service for anyone that has only been set up as a user under the old system, including people that have never looked at a Smarsheet!!!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of large volumes of data and governance of tenders for new contracts - helps centralise a lot of disparate data, connect project teams and simplify workflow management.

The smart sheet has some limitations about Merging, Gridlines, Banners & Symbols.

Smartsheet chat is very good. We can directly tag the customer and everyone will be updated.

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility for not only using it for Gantt charts for project management, but also able to use it as a small inventory/stock management or order tracker tool (for a single department where an application like SAP would be too expensive and over-complicated). I like the easy conditional formatting and AI formula generator that has saved so much time in writing and testing longer formulas and makes the process a lot easier and streamlined. I like the forums that has an active userbase and customer support. Since creating a workspace for the team, I have integrated sheets for other departments to use and feed into larger summaries and trackers that is used frequently and on a daily basis. Plus this only took a little bit of testing and was easy to implement and create a wider workspace that was also fast for the team to pick up once they learned how to use the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of cascading dropdown menus is a large disadvantage for the platform. Viewing the Gantt chart can be a bit clunky, seeing enough of the chart vs the sheet next to it. Unhiding specific columns is not as easy (I use the SSFeatures extension on Chrome to help with this). The lower amount of columns and rows than Excel could become a problem in a couple of years. If it was doubled from the current limit that would be good. Another issue is that while Smartsheet is column based for the table, I would quite like an option that makes it row based, or a mix of the two.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) Integration of tracking activities surrounding projects for our department. E.g. Gantt charts for the project and milestone management, tracking the project's budgets by creating linked sheets that track orders for the department and summarising costs, as well as inventory that has been assigned to the project. This has given us a far more accurate oversight of project spending, and a better way to find out which consumables get used on the most common basis to better anticipate purchases.
2) Internal activity tracking that uses notifications to help with workflow management - we use the contacts column feature on almost every sheet to help send notifications and reminders about activities that are nearing the due date, or when they have been assigned. It gives better visibility of tasks and has helped to ensure that tasks do not slip under the radar when reminders can be sent out.
3) The timeline feature helps to report tasks in a nice visual way
4) Reports feature: helped to save time and money on summarising things such as consumables that expire soon and helping make sure that a first-in-first-out system is best implemented. Also for rapidly assessing the money lost from expired stock and helping to adjust minimum order levels around it.

During large rollouts involving multiple stakeholders, we have managed to reduce the number of project-related calls significantly by using Smartsheets.

Ideally, I need to have more sheet summary boxes as I have a lot of data I need to get into reports / Dashboards.

Formulas are very important to me and the business.
Smartsheet Forum's are useful in that if ever I am stuck the forum usually has the answer, failing that Smartsheet support is there to assist.

Good tool for Project Management and planning
What do you like best about the product?
The intuitive interface. Controls for data and formatting are easily located and quick to learn.

More graphical options such as kanban boards etc
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest issues we faced before adopting Smartsheet was a lack of centralized visibility into project timelines, tasks, and resource allocation. The dynamic Gantt charts dashboards, and automated reporting give us a clear view of project progress at all times, reducing miscommunication and delays.
It's good interface and fast, we have a automation for projects as well which you can integrate

I liked smartsheet every feature, ease of use, flexibility and intuitive user interface. This software is accessible on web which makes it very convenient to use. Its data import and export features also unique.
What do you dislike about the product?
The things which i didn't liked in smartsheet that it can't be accessed offline, while we can't connect to internet, we becomes helpless. Smartsheet should improve this feature also

The smartsheet is handling planning and execution effectively. We can easily put our project plan and ensure that dependencies exist at same place. It makes very easy to track, flag and resolve the issues effectively. Its very simple but effective application for everyday use.
