Smartsheet Review – A Game-Changer for Project Visibility
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been a tremendous asset to our organization. One of the biggest benefits we've seen is improved real-time communication across teams, especially in our assembly area. Being able to track exactly where projects stand at any given moment has significantly streamlined our operations and reduced miscommunication.
The platform is incredibly user-friendly and flexible. Customizing sheets to fit our workflow has been easy, and the intuitive interface makes it simple for all team members—regardless of technical ability—to navigate and contribute effectively.
Overall, Smartsheet has helped us bring structure, visibility, and accountability to our day-to-day processes. I highly recommend it to any team looking to improve collaboration and project management.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only minor downside we've experienced is that sometimes sheets don’t update as quickly as we'd like. However, we believe this is more related to our internet reliability than an issue with the software itself.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Smartsheet, we had no effective way to track and communicate project status in real time on the shop floor.
Technically taxing but helpful
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to reduce email clutter and manage file sharing for projects at each step.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot of manual work to create the project tasks, assignments, conditions, and filers. It is not difficult once you are a regular user, but it is time consuming setting things up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email clutter and siloed communication. Reducing emails is always a priority, because things get lost or replied to out of order. It's frustrating and a waste of time. Siloed communication increases the time someone introduced to projects takes to get their tasks done based on a lack of understanding, file availability, and understanding of their role/next steps. For my team, that is the biggest improvement from smartsheet.

SmartSheet is helpful because it combines the familiarity of spreadsheets with advanced project management features, making it easy to track tasks, deadlines, and team progress in one place. An upside of using SmartSheet is its flexibility—it adapts to different workflows and scales well with growing team. Its also quick to set up with minimal training required, seamlessly connecting with other tools we use, like Microsoft Teams and Google Drive. The customer support is responsive and helpful assisting where needed, which is great as I use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes feel cluttered or overwhelming when managing large sheets with many collaborators, making it harder to quickly find specific information or updates. The filters could use some improvement, as rearranging the order of information can be un-intuitive and occasionally frustrating

Smartsheet falls short in terms of user-friendliness, particularly when it comes to visibility for higher management. In contrast, platforms like Kissflow offer intuitive dashboards that clearly display pending approvals and the overall workflow progress (e.g., percentage completed). This makes it much easier for leadership to track and act on tasks—without having to sift through hundreds of emails.

A Clear Workflow and Approval Matrix – It standardizes and automates business processes, ensuring that approvals follow a structured, traceable path and reducing ambiguity in responsibilities.

It helps me stay organized and track my projects with ease as my project manager can update and edit to keep me on track and up to date.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the UI can be hard to navigate but overall isn't a problem.

Smartsheet helps solve problems like lack of visibility, inefficient collaboration, and manual workflows by providing a centralized, automated platform for project and task management. This benefits me by saving time, improving team coordination, and giving real-time insights to make better decisions.
Easy to use and useful platform
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet feels like a smarter and more useful version of excel, I love that you can easily link people and assign tasks with dates, its great for keeping track of work in progress and providing updates to people without sending lots of emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is that sometimes when you need to do bulk things like copy and paste, or delete lots of rows, you have to do them with a shorter range

Smartsheet makes it easy to view and combine lots of information into an easy view, the layout of the sheets makes it easier to work with large data sets and update information more easily

What do you like best about the product?
It's great for project management and some automations. I use it for a couple of things. First, I use kanban boards to keep track of my tasks as well as for an easy IT ticketing system for website updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Automations are limiting. I often automate rows from one sheet to another, but I don't want all of the columns to be there, nor the same column names.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to use it as an IT ticketing system for website updates. I also have several kanban boards related to tasks that I need to complete for different projects. I also use it for customer registrations with our Customer Care team.

Limited business rules when creating complex forms.
Can often be more challenging than Excel for simple implementations.

SmartSheet allows our group to implement new process automations quickly and with agility
Smartsheet has been a gamechanger for keeping everyone in the loop.
What do you like best about the product?
My company has a Smartsheet page dedicated to just about everything to keep everyone up to date. It is extremely easy to use and learn to use when implemented in new areas. I use it daily to to notify others on statuses, organize my tasks, and to help generate automations for different things.
What do you dislike about the product?
There appears to be a bug or glitch occasionally when sending automations. There have been times where an automated email did not send and created a pause in the workflow without being aware they did not receive the notification.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to keep tasks organized with specific due dates and reminders. It also is great for keeping everyone in the loop about the specific step or status of different projects going on. This makes my job easier because I am able to access ongoing projects easily, quickly, and without anything falling through the cracks when it gets busy.
