What do you like best about the product?
work as a Production Process Manager at a customization-based manufacturing company. Given the nature of our business, where we offer around 30 core products that can be uniquely customized for each client, we found that most off-the-shelf PPC (Production Planning and Control) software solutions did not meet our specific operational needs.
That’s when I discovered Smartsheet. Over the past two years, I’ve built and implemented a tailored workflow within Smartsheet that aligns perfectly with our production processes. It has proven to be an invaluable tool, significantly improving our internal coordination, tracking, and efficiency.
While the learning curve may be slightly steeper initially, once you grasp the foundational concepts, Smartsheet becomes a powerful and flexible platform capable of adapting to a wide variety of workflows.
Given our positive experience on the production side, we are now planning to extend the use of Smartsheet to our sales operations as well.

it has few drawbacks but it's managable, like you can't link the attachment to another sheet,

Process Automation using Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I wanted to share my positive experience using Smartsheet. I primarily leverage it to automate and streamline our workflows. The ability to easily create forms, even multiple ones, to efficiently collect and consolidate data into a master sheet has been incredibly valuable. Overall, Smartsheet effectively meets my needs for process automation and data management.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are currently utilizing your Business license. We've noticed that some features crucial to our workflow are exclusively available to Enterprise licensees. While upgrading to the Enterprise plan isn't economically feasible for us at this time, we recognize the value of its advanced capabilities. We believe focusing on further developing our team's skills will allow us to more effectively leverage the Enterprise features when we eventually transition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've identified several manual business processes that require multiple levels of approval. The current method of preparing hard documents and obtaining physical signatures is extending the turnaround time. To address this, we propose implementing a system of digital sheets, forms, and a reporting dashboard. This approach offers a simpler and more efficient process flow, significantly improving turnaround times. Furthermore, this digital setup will make data presentation both easier and more engaging.
Smartsheet, a great tool for safety, compliance and automating workflows
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has become a core business resource that we use for safety and compliance across our construction projects. We have been an early adopter and part of the iterations over the year.
Initially I would describe it as Excel on steroids, but over time we have evolved to use it for many parts of our day to day business. From prestart checklists to inspection forms, Smartsheet allows us to create live registers, display dashboards and automated workflows that adapt to our changing operational needs.
The end result (after the initial setup) is a massive reduction for admin related tasks.
Other components that arn't really thought are things like version control, attachments, automated reminders, and even conditional logic. These features provide easy compliance against audit criteria (such as ISO Audits) while improving productivity.
Initially I would describe it as Excel on steroids, but over time we have evolved to use it for many parts of our day to day business. What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is versatile, there are still occasional limitations vs Excel — particularly when it comes to advanced formulas. Some functions just don’t exist or behave differently, and the formula syntax isn’t always intuitive.
That said, with the rise of AI tools over the past couple of years, it’s become much easier to work around those gaps by generating or correcting formulas on the fly.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving the problem of fragmented, paper-based safety and compliance processes across our projects.
We’ve used it to digitise prestarts, inspections, audits, document registers, asset registers, display dashboards and build reports which provide tailored information specific to those who need to see it.
The biggest benefit has been reducing admin time and human error while increasing the consistency of data capture in the field, for example from our daily field reports.
Overall, it’s enabled us to shift our focus from reactive compliance to proactive risk management In a real time collaborative manner.

Formulation is not sophisticated as Excel. Limited choice for formulas

Been effectively using it to manage Manufacturing Master Schedule
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to link in and connect different schedules, Automation/workflows, Setting reminders (to both self and others)

The access is at directory and file level and not folder-level
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows the information and milestones coming in from various schedules, also "view cell history" helps track "who-did-what/when"
Multifunctional, use could be expanded
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is multifunctional, and the features where you can attach files and comment directly on lines in an unobstructive way is very useful. I like that I can pull in colleagues names and collaborate easily with them and the different templates available for forms and dashboards along with spreadsheet-like layouts.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful to integrate with actual spreadsheet functions such as functions, expressions, and be able to do quick calculations in the software. I think itwould be helpful to have more templates that apply to work across a wider variety of professions, such as public health and general project management. I would want more integrations with Microsoft Suite in order to use if more frequently since that is what my company uses.

Easy & simple
What do you like best about the product?
I use smartsheet on a regular basis. Used mainly for rotas that are shared with lots of non smartsheet members and we can all edit and change it if needed. Also used previously for tracking project tasks and creating gant charts etc. Like the fact it can email ppl if something changes or they are assigned a task or it's overdue etc

Sometimes hard to find out how to do something you want... Usually find by googling it and someone's often done a tutorial.
