Versatile and Integrated Workflow Solution

  • April 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I value Smartsheet for combining the core functionality of Excel with built-in automations and powerful filtering, which sets it apart from other platforms. It's particularly effective for project and event planning. I use it to manage my marketing activities and budget, allowing me to keep everything in one place and work across multiple functions within a single document. The ability to create forms and calendars further strengthens it as a true all-in-one tool, unlike Microsoft systems, which often require switching between several applications. Smartsheet provides everything I need and after more than 10 years of using it, I've seen it continue to evolve and improve.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the price quite expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet to track student enrollments and staff HR functions with efficient automations that alert the right people timely. It's multifunctional, combining Excel-like features with automation and filter tools, and serves as a centralized hub for forms and calendars.

Streamlined Payroll Management with Grid View Efficiency

  • April 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the layout of Smartsheet, especially the Grid View with different columns for task name, owner, status, and due date. It makes it easier for me to manage and prioritize payroll cycles by clearly seeing due dates and identifying which tasks need to be addressed first. The initial setup was easy to understand, which was great for my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the lack of effective conditional formatting an issue. It would be useful to have colors like red for overdue, orange for tasks due soon, and green for completed ones to easily track task statuses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet for managing payroll requests, operational issues, and providing instant solutions, which helps prioritize and communicate effectively about payroll cycles.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Smartsheet acts like Excel but allows me to see items in a calendar or Gantt view, and there are automation tools. These are the exact tools I needed to consolidate everything with one software. I also found the initial setup of Smartsheet to be very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The automation could be improved. It's very limited; for example, after clearing a cell, I can't perform any actions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet for consolidating all our files and scheduling issues. It acts like Excel but lets me see items in a calendar or Gantt, and the automation tools help consolidate everything with one software.

Smartsheet: Centralized Tracking and Streamlined Collaboration for Financial & Administrative Work

  • April 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It often describes Smartsheet as “Excel on steroids.” It is an invaluable tool for me as an accountant and project manager. What I like most is that it keeps the familiarity of a spreadsheet, but adds structure and visibility that make it much easier to manage real work in motion.

It helps me stay on top of moving parts without relying on constant check-ins or manual tracking. I can set up workflows so tasks don’t fall through the cracks, and updates are visible in real time, which reduces a lot of back-and-forth.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is that it can feel a bit limited when I try to manipulate data the way I would in Excel. Some of the more flexible, quick-edit functions just aren’t as smooth or intuitive.

In practice, I usually work around this by exporting the sheet to Excel, doing the heavier data manipulation there, and then importing it back into Smartsheet. It’s a workable process, but it does add an extra step.

Another limitation is that it only allows about 500 rows of data to be pasted at a time, which can be restrictive when working with larger datasets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me keep track of payable invoices in one place, with clear visibility for approvers across different departments and an easy way to monitor status as items move through multiple hands.

It reduces email clutter by allowing communication and updates to happen directly within the platform, keeping everything tied to the record and easier to follow.

It also improves historical tracking of processes, so I can reference how items were handled over time and maintain consistency.

Smartsheet integrates with our Box file system, which makes it easy to link supporting documentation without duplicating files or losing context.

Additionally, because Smartsheet forms are used widely across the university (for things like meeting requests and room bookings), it supports standardized intake and makes requests easier to manage on the back end.

Accessible and Effective, But Navigation Can Be Tricky

  • April 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Smartsheet is accessible to multiple users, which helps us manage different parts of projects by assigning dates and responsibilities. I value the time management functions to record time against clients and the ability to assign products to different people with different tasks. The initial setup of Smartsheet was very easy for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when I'm assigned a product, it's a little bit hard to navigate and figure out where to click to go into different parts of the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps manage project parts by assigning dates and responsibilities. I use time management functions to track time and assign tasks.

What do you dislike about the product?

Smartsheet Makes Team Collaboration and Process Automation Effortless

  • April 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Smartsheet for collaborating with my team and automating our processes! Really useful tool to manage business from project management with real time reporting to robust workflows such as ticketing systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The big obstacle now is that it lets you use enter hour durations but then rounds it up to a whole day! So on a Tech project that's fine until you get to the cutover when you need to work in hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What I like most about SmartSheet is its remarkable versatility.
It's not just a project management tool, it's an all-in-one solution that can adapt to various tasks and projects, making it highly efficient for both individuals and teams.
