collaboration made easy
What do you like best about the product?
it's an easy to use collaboration tool, and it's been useful especially when collaborating projects across teams internally and externally.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's been difficult to manage sheets that have been abandoned by users who have left the organization, especially when users later down the track want to have access to the sheet and edit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Smartsheets for Business
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets has the ability to be able to be used somewhat as an API, we have lots of integrations at our workplace which looks at areas of some smartsheets that allows us to pull information quickly. These integrations are to things like Zendesk, New Relic and Grafana which we use on a almost hourly basis everyday to actively monitor parts of the business.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downsides of using Smartsheets is the same as using another tool like Excel, you need to be aware of what exactly your intending to use it for. If your looking for an enhanced version of Excel that is cloud accessible to hold some information or track progress thats great! However if you looking to store vasts amount of data and record tracking like for instance a data set of records or something, then this falls short just like excel compared to a database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Smartsheets to hold a data set of all our assets that we deploy in the field, this is benefiting us as its a cheaper and argueably easier alternative to creating and maintaining a database.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the capability to publish and communicate specific rows to other members in my organization, that way I can share only relevant data in a sheet without using email.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web tool is not intuitive, sometimes hard to locate tasks (would want it more "office like")

Good software with a lot of capabilities but hard to switch from Excel to SmartSheets

Forms which can be generated are really helpful when linking them to a website and backtracking to a database.

some functionality is not intuitive and there are not a lot of helpful resources to find solutions.

It can be HIPPA compliant so it is helpful for us to create forms on there and distribute to the patient and also have us be able to download it.
Great Collaboration Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I've really enjoy using Smartsheets, especially because of the collaboration it enables across our team. One of the biggest benefits is that updates are visible to everyone in real time—no more emailing spreadsheets back and forth or worrying about version control. It does nearly everything Excel can do, but with the added advantage of being cloud-based and collaborative, which has made it a go-to tool for our company on a daily basis.
We also use it to share sheets directly with our customers, giving them instant insight into our progress. This transparency has improved communication and built more trust. Overall, Smartsheet has become an essential part of how we work and deliver results.

The only downside is you have to pay more for the premium features, but it's worth it.

It puts everything in one place for everyone to view in real time.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the customization of Smartsheet. I can add or remove features from a specific sheet while not affecting my other sheets or coworker sheets. It's extremely easy to use and learn from the start. I also like the collaboration aspect. It's easy to talk with teammates and get things done efficiently. I use it every day.

Sometimes having too many things on one sheet can get overwhelming. It can look too much like an excel sheet at times.

Organization. Making sure everyone is on the same page and also being held accountable for the work they're supposed to be completing.
A Powerful Collaboration Tool with Room for Improvement in Visualization and Permissions
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is an excellent tool for managing cross-functional initiatives and capturing real-time data. I particularly value its survey and form creation capabilities, which allow our team to collect input, track participation, and assess engagement for ongoing functions and pilot projects. I was especially impressed by the tool’s ability to configure a customized metrics and assessment dashboard that supports reporting and visibility across multiple business units and stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet excels in data collection and tracking, it falls short in visualizing survey responses. Unlike Google Forms, it does not provide automatic graphs, charts, or summary visualizations of form responses, which would be incredibly helpful for quick analysis and reporting. Additionally, the layered permission structure can be cumbersome—especially when trying to enable interns or temporary team members to make simple edits. The access management process feels unnecessarily complex for collaborative environments.

Powerful but expensive
What do you like best about the product?
The collaboration abilities of Smartsheet is very helpful when dealing with contractors, vendors, and installers. The fact that they do not have to pay for Smartsheet and can still collaborate with my project managers is huge for our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet has changed, forcing more paid licenses to get things done. And those changes are very expensive. Smartsheet is the most expensive software my small company pays for and nice tools that Smartsheet adds are only available if we pay a whole lot more. I think we are with our 4th or 5th account representative. They try to be helpful, but the lack of consistency with the account representative has led to confusion, broken promises, and changes that have led me to think hard about moving to another platform. I have personally worked with a huge University that was adopting Smartsheet by the hundreds of staff only to see them pull back and cancel many of those licenses because of the increased expense and constant changes in what those licenses could do.
