Great Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love how Smartsheet helps to keep me organized with my many projects. It also outlines the critical path taking out all of the guess work for me. The predecessor feature helps with keeping tasks in line for my project team and helping keeping them in line for when they should be starting their tasks. This tool has become an essential part of my day to day activities with my project teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's only one issue that I have with Smartsheet and that's the set up with having the project timeline bypass holidays. It started out well but for some reason it just stopped working properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps with keeping our team organized and on tasks with our various projects.

What do you like best about the product?
I love creating automations that will run after a user submits their information in a Smartsheet Form. I've used this function to automatically populate a signable form that is required to stay in compliance with the university's policy.
I've also used the formula function in Smartsheet to combine information from multiple columns into a single cell for each user/row which will later be used in data merging. Smartsheet makes it easy to do, so I am not searching for the correct formula for the task I want to perform.

What do you dislike about the product?
Copying and pasting text from an offline document into a Smartsheet cell is not intuitive. I eventually figured out that I needed to double click in the cell first and then paste, but a few pop-up helper bubbles with suggestions would be great!
I would also appreciate having the ability to assign more nuanced permissions to users with whom I share a Smartsheet. For some of my colleagues, I know I will be giving them "view only" access. For others, I would like to assign certain permissions to perform high-level tasks but limit their ability to delete data, etc.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is automating tasks that usually take our small office of two employees many hours to organize and manage. This frees up some time for other high-urgency tasks that need to be done. We have also been able to shift from collecting and tracking information through email to a more organized means of information submission through Smartsheet.

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the flexibility of Smartsheet and the ability to share and collaborate among teams, and also the ability customize content and viewers/editors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needing to save/not having autosave can be frustrating. Also on-boarding new users can be challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet serves as a single source of truth for both calendaring and internal event management.

It is easy to use and makes getting work done efficiently.
SmartSheet is Smart, but...
What do you like best about the product?
I love how it's constantly updated information, unlike desktop-saved sheets (with millions of iterations). It's so easy to learn all the main components - sheets, dashboards, reports - and has advanced capabilities if needed. It provides great project management resources to keep all your vital information in one place for however big your team(s) are. And it also works great for cross-collaboration!
Some of my favorite functions are the proofs, especially with how easy it is to get feedback from multiple people within our company on one file.

What do you dislike about the product?
In my particular line of work, I use it for content planning/proofing with our social media content. If I would be able to then directly schedule it to our social media accounts, my process would be perfectly streamlined.
It would also be nice to be able to send a "view" or "comment" only link for proofs to people outside of our company database in certain cases - without them having to create a smartsheet account.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining a master content calendar, with all the important/relevant files attached has completely improved our content creation & posting process. The approvals system, and how it directly connects with email, also streamlined proofs that are required for each iteration of content we make. It's dashboarding & different sheet views provide customizable overviews of current projects for all levels of leadership to view. And having consistent updates readily available to the information being input ensures accuracy in the work we're doing. History tracking and simplified storage layout is also a great benefit to this tool for the amount of teams that cross-collab on related projects.

Smartsheet is very easy to implement and very easy to use. It's a great tool to use during month-end or with projects to track tasks and the completion of tasks. This is a very handy tool used regularly across various teams within our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
N/A - no downsides with using Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows everyone on the team to track what tasks are allocated to them and their due dates. This ensures all work is being done by the appropriate personnel and it is done on a timely basis.

Overall, a solid choice for mid-sized teams looking for a balance of structure and ease of use

How userfriendly the system is and how all files can be linked and stored online for everyone to access.
The reporting and automatic emails are fantastic. Having an project schedule file is also very useful as all can be linked together.

I dislike the formulars as they do not completely match excel file's formulas.
I also think that the charts need to be more flexible as I always have to create a different table to show a different type of chart. Micrsoft Bi is a good example of flexibility.
