Simple to Use and gets the job done
What do you like best about the product?
Its easy to learn and setup because its similar to excel. Customer support is quick to respond and US based.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its features are not as robust or "pretty" as other project management platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a platform that was easy for our clients to use and navigate, Smartsheet is so similar to excel that it is easy for people to use without much training.

It is a useful product, that is relatively user friendly!

As a not for profit it is not cheap, and obtaining good customer support can be difficult at times.

The variety of templates and the many customization options.

It's a bit difficult to use on mobile or tablet.

The categorization of numerous tasks and the creation of a so-called daily plan using the "stickers" feature.
Support for company-wide project implementation. Defining steps, executing, and reporting results.
What do you like best about the product?
The biggest advantage was the entire team working on a single Excel-like file with the ability to attach documentation to each step. Easy reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
A problem with work efficiency arises when the file is used by several or a dozen people at once. If two users try to save at the same time on a large file, it can freeze. Performance dropped significantly as the file grew in size.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration of a large team within a file collecting multiple projects from various departments for several production plants. Easy information exchange. Easy reporting from the file.

It's a very scaleable tool. It brings a lot of savings to the companies that use it.

It's bit pricey. The new USM licensing mode.

Adding advance features like gant chart and other macros into sheets to manage the project data more efficiently and intuitively.

A bit costly for advanced usage comparing to other tools

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has become an essential tool in our construction project management workflow. Its flexible spreadsheet-style interface makes scheduling, task tracking, and document sharing incredibly efficient across teams. The ability to set up Gantt charts, automated alerts, and client-facing dashboards has significantly improved our coordination and visibility across multiple projects. Ideal for managing timelines, budgets, and subcontractor communications in a dynamic construction environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is highly functional, there are a few limitations. The learning curve can be steep for team members unfamiliar with spreadsheet-based tools. Real-time collaboration is sometimes slower than expected, and mobile functionality could be more intuitive, especially for on-site teams. Additionally, integrations with some construction-specific software platforms are limited or require workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us manage construction projects more efficiently by centralising schedules, documents, and team communication. It’s improved accountability, reduced delays, and made client reporting much easier. The real-time visibility and custom dashboards are a huge time-saver.
It makes my production reports much easier!

I was introduced to Smartsheet at work, and it makes our meetings more dynamic and reviewing our production status much easier.

I need to save changes constantly so that someone else isn’t using the same cell as me at the same time.

I’ve used both Smartsheet and Airtable, and based on that experience, Smartsheet stands out in several key areas—especially when compared to Asana and Airtable.
Compared to Asana, Smartsheet is much better for complex project management. It feels more like Excel, which is great for working with structured data and using formulas. It also has stronger automation, more advanced reporting, and built-in Gantt charts that are far more capable than Asana’s timeline features. It’s ideal for managing large, cross-functional projects that require dependencies and resource planning.
When compared to Airtable, Smartsheet handles larger datasets more reliably and offers better performance when things get complex. It supports more advanced formulas and makes it easier to connect data across multiple sheets. Smartsheet is also more enterprise-ready, with stronger permission controls, robust dashboards, and automation tools—making it a better fit for large teams or formal project workflows.

What do you dislike about the product?
Unlike Google Sheets or Notion, real-time editing feels slower or more segmented. Updates aren't always instantly reflected for all users. Smartsheet can lag or become unresponsive when working with very large or complex sheets, this has happedn to me quiet frequently in past, even when I was working at startbucks.

Smartsheet solves several key problems related to project visibility, coordination, and accountability, especially in environments with multiple teams, stakeholders, or complex workflows.
