Convenient with some quirks
What do you like best about the product?
It offers a lot of extensive features and integrative options for just not sheets, but also dashboards, reports and so on.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some basic features missing, such as not being able to unhide a single column at once and some restrictive features like not being able to paste more than 500 rows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows a sophisticated way of linking cells and columns across different sheets while also allowing the creation of easy dashboards from a set of data. The indentation of the rows can also be quite helpful when used efficiently.
Great for Project Visibility, But Can Be Clunky at Times
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is incredibly useful for tracking multiple projects and tasks in one place. I appreciate the flexibility as it functions like a spreadsheet but includes project management tools such as Gantt charts, automated reminders, and conditional formatting. It's especially valuable for cross-functional collaboration with real-time updates and visible comments. The ability to build forms, dashboards, and reports provides strong visibility for stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can be unintuitive, especially for new users. Although it looks like a spreadsheet, it comes with a learning curve. Some automation features are limited or require manual workarounds. Integration with other platforms isn’t always smooth unless you're on a higher-tier plan. Additionally, performance can decline when working with large datasets or multiple users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping our organization streamline portfolio management and standardize our onboarding process. The ability to build dashboards makes it easy to track progress and provide visibility to key stakeholders. We also use Smartsheet to create request intake forms and survey forms, which has simplified data collection and improved overall efficiency. Its versatility allows us to manage multiple workflows in one centralized platform, reducing manual follow-ups and increasing accountability across teams.

The fact you can assign line items to a responsible person.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when shifting sheets between projects, not all items transfer over.

Multi discipline coordination between the entire project team.

What do you like best about the product?
Its really easy to create sheets in smartsheet.You can create automation, display gantt view etc. You can also share the sheets with other team members and give them rights like editor/viewer/Admin/commenter. We can easily manager the data in smartsheets. Its really easy to use. I use smartsheet on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that i dislike about smartsheet. Its easy to use and implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping me manage my work really well. Example, i handle NA, EU and ROW regions site launches and when i have to publish the report i will need the data of site launch dates and other details related to site from my stakeholders. I have created list in smartsheet for different regions and shared the editor access to region POCs for them to update the site details and i have provided viewer access to site leaders so that they can view the site details only.
An excellent collaborative tool for tracking and management
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Smartsheet has a simple and intuitive starting point, which I can then build into a more integrated data analysis of whatever project or activity I am tracking. I often use the email feature to remind colleagues of updates, and I love that comments allow for real-time feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
Building a dashboard does take a bit of knowledge and time to implement correctly - the insights are only as good as the data that is put into it. I don't necessarily dislike this, but I wish there were more bite-sized ways to gather insights from information added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet specifically allows me to request real-time updates with due dates, without having to constantly send multiple emails to various vendors.

there are some things that you'd want free users to be able to do in collaboration with paid/premium users (like for independent contractors only using the sheet for a month), and that can be a little annoying for provisioning

Better tool than normal sheets/excel, more options, more automations out of the box

What do you like best about the product?

Collaboration features—like real-time updates, automated alerts, and comment threads—make it especially useful for cross-functional teams. I also appreciate how intuitive it is to set up dashboards and reports for at-a-glance visibility across projects. Integration with tools like Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Google Workspace is seamless and helps keep everything connected.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be steep for new users, especially when dealing with formulas, automations, or permissions. While it’s powerful, Smartsheet isn’t always the most user-friendly out of the gate. Some features—like advanced reporting or resource management—can feel buried or require an additional license tier. Performance can lag when working with large or complex sheets, and formatting limitations sometimes make it harder to create polished, client-facing documents.

A little complicated to get sheets to work in congruence at times.

What do you like best about the product?
I have found smart sheets as the best way to share information with clients from multiple locations. Regardless of what device or preference Smart Sheets seems to be the most seamless option fro everyone.

The formula's can be a little trickier to use but that just takes a little more time.

Sharing information with multiple people.

Easier to manage project plan, create dashboards and see the overall picture through gantt chart
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it gets slow but it has improved tremendously. The other aspect is that when you use resource management tool with it and try to adjust allocations it gets hard to do it as if you add or split a task it doesn't exactly has an option as to where you want to add it in the project plan, in other words, in which header that task will be added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resources management is the biggest problem that is being solved.
