Smart Way to Manage Projects and Processes at Scale
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet stands out for its flexibility, ease of use and ease of implementation, especially for managing complex workflows without writing code. I love how intuitive it is to build project plans, automate repetitive tasks, and collaborate in real time with stakeholders — even those without a Smartsheet license. Features like automated alerts, Dynamic Views, and integration with tools like Microsoft Teams and Outlook have significantly improved our project visibility and efficiency. The platform scales well from simple task tracking to full enterprise-grade process automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is powerful, there are a few areas where it could improve. The reporting and dashboard visuals, though functional, lack some of the advanced customization and design flexibility seen in dedicated BI tools. Additionally, the user interface can become cluttered when managing very large or complex sheets. It would also be helpful if permission controls were more granular at the cell or column level.

Smartsheet is helping us solve several key problems — from fragmented project tracking and manual reporting to inconsistent workflows across departments. By centralizing data and automating repetitive tasks, we’ve significantly reduced time spent on status updates, approvals, and coordination. It’s especially beneficial for managing cross-functional processes like faculty allocation, resource planning, and compliance tracking. With real-time dashboards, alerts, and collaboration tools, we’ve improved visibility, accountability, and decision-making across the organization — all without needing IT support or coding skills.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is how easy it is to use right from the start. I didn’t need a lot of training to get going and setting it up for myself and my team was pretty easy and straightforward. We use it every day because it helps keep everything in one place, tasks, updates and even documents.
There are a lot of useful features and It’s flexible enough to fit different workflows and connecting it with other tools we use (like Google Drive) was smooth. Also, whenever I had any questions, the customer support team was quick and helpful. Another feature I really love is the Smartsheet Community forum. If I ever get stuck, I can just search for my query there and usually find an answer or a helpful tip from other users.

While Smartsheet is great for managing projects, there are a few things that could be better for example complex formulas can be tricky and working with large datasets sometimes slows it down. The interface also gets bit cluttered if you're managing too many sheets at once.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps solve the problem of scattered information and messy project tracking. Before, things were all over the place, emails, spreadsheets, chats but now everything’s in one place. It keeps my team aligned, helps us track progress in real time and makes it easier to hit deadlines. I can automate repetitive tasks, set reminders and even share updates without back-and-forth emails. It saves time, reduces confusion, and gives a clear view of what’s going on.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Smartsheet would be Automations. It’s the key differentiator, we’ve started using smartsheet sometime back it has helped saved so much of my time and helped streamline so many processes which would’ve required manual interventions
What do you dislike about the product?
The restriction of number of rows you could paste in one go and the number formulas that can reference a cell can make things hard sometimes while working on a simple smartsheet
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have large enterprise clients and we need to create Dashboards and track metrics for them and we definitely don’t want any of them to see each others data, so we update a single sheet which feeds into their individual dashboards and publish links to their Dashboard are shared with them, which wasn’t possible earlier. We would have to update multiple google sheets manage charts dashboards etc separately for so many customers.
Next are our internal processes which need reminders, updates etc for the employees which is basically directly done from smartsheet without manual intervention.

I like the Gantt view and the simple UI which is also easy to adjust and share.
I believe that the most powerful feature is the dashboards.

Sometimes it takes a while to log in and the Smartsheet logo appears for a long time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's like Excel on steroids, I can write a plan and update it daily.
Then I can create a dashboard which is updated automatically from the plan which is great, then I use it in presentations.

Intuitive, Powerful and Constantly Improving
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet daily at work, and I absolutely love it. It’s incredibly user-friendly, with a clean interface that makes managing projects and tasks simple and efficient. One of the best features is how easily it integrates with other platforms like Miro, Microsoft Teams, JIRA etc. It really helps streamline workflows.
Smartsheet also offers many training resources and live learning sessions, which I find super valuable. I appreciate how they keep users informed about new features and continuously improve the platform.
Overall, Smartsheet is a flexible, reliable tool that supports productivity and team collaboration in a big way. Highly recommended!

What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I particularily dislike about Smartsheet, however, it seems like due to my company Smartsheet subscription type, some features I would like to use are not avaialble to me (baseline, resources).
Also I would like to be able to drag and drop to the comment section, quite inconvenient that you cannot do that.

As someone who leads multiple project teams, Smartsheet helps us centralize everything in one place—from schedules to communication. We can all collaborate in real-time using comments, attachments, alerts, and share feedback directly within the sheets. It eliminates confusion and keeps everyone aligned.
It also makes tracking progress simple and clear with easy-to-build reports and dashboards, so I can quickly see where things stand and make informed decisions. Overall, Smartsheet has made project management more organized, transparent, and efficient for our team and upper management or clients.

Alternative software solution
What do you like best about the product?
The connectivity features work well making it a one stop solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost report format manages a different code/language making it difficult to manipulate. It should use standard formats used in Microsoft Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The current set-up has a live project dashboard making it relatively easy to report to clients.

Smartsheet is so versatile I am still learning all the ways to leverage its capabilities, but what I like best is the ability to build project plans that help me track everything in one place.

The downside is not everyone is aware of its capabailities so often I am the sole person on a project regularly updating/referring to it.

I have used Smartsheet across two different companies now. It is now part of my regular tool set.
What do you like best about the product?
I find the ability to link information and data across sheets and workspaces to be a powerful feature. In addition, the ability to switch my perspective on the data (Gantt, Board, and the new "Table" view) is very useful for coordination during team meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the ability to generate Dashboards is very useful, I find the workflow for chart generation and the limited options on chart types to be frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides a project planning platform with the additional flexibility to provide relevant task visuals for the project team during meetings. It has benefited me and my company by providing me a feature-rich alternative to MS Project at a lower cost. The broader team appreciate the ability to view plans (and various Sheets) without the need to have an additional license or software installed.
