Great Collaboration Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I've really enjoy using Smartsheets, especially because of the collaboration it enables across our team. One of the biggest benefits is that updates are visible to everyone in real time—no more emailing spreadsheets back and forth or worrying about version control. It does nearly everything Excel can do, but with the added advantage of being cloud-based and collaborative, which has made it a go-to tool for our company on a daily basis.
We also use it to share sheets directly with our customers, giving them instant insight into our progress. This transparency has improved communication and built more trust. Overall, Smartsheet has become an essential part of how we work and deliver results.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is you have to pay more for the premium features, but it's worth it.

It puts everything in one place for everyone to view in real time.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the customization of Smartsheet. I can add or remove features from a specific sheet while not affecting my other sheets or coworker sheets. It's extremely easy to use and learn from the start. I also like the collaboration aspect. It's easy to talk with teammates and get things done efficiently. I use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes having too many things on one sheet can get overwhelming. It can look too much like an excel sheet at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization. Making sure everyone is on the same page and also being held accountable for the work they're supposed to be completing.
A Powerful Collaboration Tool with Room for Improvement in Visualization and Permissions
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is an excellent tool for managing cross-functional initiatives and capturing real-time data. I particularly value its survey and form creation capabilities, which allow our team to collect input, track participation, and assess engagement for ongoing functions and pilot projects. I was especially impressed by the tool’s ability to configure a customized metrics and assessment dashboard that supports reporting and visibility across multiple business units and stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet excels in data collection and tracking, it falls short in visualizing survey responses. Unlike Google Forms, it does not provide automatic graphs, charts, or summary visualizations of form responses, which would be incredibly helpful for quick analysis and reporting. Additionally, the layered permission structure can be cumbersome—especially when trying to enable interns or temporary team members to make simple edits. The access management process feels unnecessarily complex for collaborative environments.

Powerful but expensive
What do you like best about the product?
The collaboration abilities of Smartsheet is very helpful when dealing with contractors, vendors, and installers. The fact that they do not have to pay for Smartsheet and can still collaborate with my project managers is huge for our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet has changed, forcing more paid licenses to get things done. And those changes are very expensive. Smartsheet is the most expensive software my small company pays for and nice tools that Smartsheet adds are only available if we pay a whole lot more. I think we are with our 4th or 5th account representative. They try to be helpful, but the lack of consistency with the account representative has led to confusion, broken promises, and changes that have led me to think hard about moving to another platform. I have personally worked with a huge University that was adopting Smartsheet by the hundreds of staff only to see them pull back and cancel many of those licenses because of the increased expense and constant changes in what those licenses could do.

Collaboration with contractors, vendors, installers. Collaboration with major Universities that we work with.

The integration between sheets, reminders to participants.

Can have a large learning curve, you have to know what to do and how to do it!

the communication between all the parties on project is seamless. The tasks are great, you do not have to send reminder emails, Smartsheet does it for you.

One drawback is the lack of tabbed sheets like in Excel, which can make organizing complex data a bit more challenging.

Easy and smart way to access and use
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use for data upload, navigation and search. A comprehensive collection of data in one place including attachments and documents access. Secure platform to add and share data within the company and colleagues enabling easy access . Lots of additional features compared to excel making it a preferred method to share and search for details. It is reliable, flexible and high level of security and support with customer care access .
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is difficult to filter information and not accessible to everyone . Hence has to be transported to excel for sharing in many cases. Complex automation set up makes it difficult for any new or amateur user, Not suitable for complex calculations compared to excel and the high fee or subscription charges is also a drawback.

Steep Learning Curve for Advanced Features: While the basics are intuitive, more advanced functions (like cross-sheet formulas, automation, and reports) can take time to learn and may require training. Sometimes also the time loading gets complicated if the sheet has many items

Faster and more organised Project Management, also the collaboration within the teams, makes it easier
