Powerful Yet User-Friendly Work Management Platform
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is how it combines power with simplicity: its spreadsheet-style layout makes it very easy to use, even for non-technical users, and implementation is quick since existing Excel or Google Sheets files can be imported right away. The platform is used frequently because it supports everyday task tracking as well as full project management, which keeps teams working in one place. It offers a strong number of features like automation, dashboards, reporting, and Gantt charts without feeling overwhelming. Integration with tools such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, and Jira is smooth, helping teams avoid data silos. On top of that, customer support, documentation, and community resources make it easier to solve issues and learn the system efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Smartsheet is that while it’s powerful, it can start to feel complex as projects grow, especially with advanced features like formulas, automations, and cross-sheet references, which may require extra learning. The interface, though familiar, can become cluttered with large datasets, making navigation slower. Some reporting and dashboard customizations feel less flexible compared to dedicated BI tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves the problem of scattered work and lack of visibility by bringing project tracking, task management, reporting, and collaboration into one centralized platform. Instead of juggling spreadsheets, emails, and multiple tools, everything lives in structured sheets and dashboards, which improves organization and accountability. It helps standardize processes through templates and automation, reducing manual follow-ups and errors. Real-time updates and shared views make it easier for teams and stakeholders to stay aligned on progress, deadlines, and priorities. As a result, work gets done faster, communication is clearer, and decision-making improves because all the key information is easy to access in one place.
Great Workflow Automations That Non-Tech Teams Can Use Easily
What do you like best about the product?
The workflow and automations are great and it's really easy for non-tech teams to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it's easy to use some of the more powerful functionality can require learning curve
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just a simple way to track and manage projects.
Efficient Task Management with Seamless Notifications
What do you like best about the product?
I love the functionality of Smartsheet, particularly its formatting capabilities and how it works well with other project files. It's great that Smartsheet sends emails to update on due tasks and reminds people to complete the tasks that are due. These features keep everyone up to speed and ensure I'm updating the tasks that are needed, which helps with efficiency and meeting deadlines. The initial setup of Smartsheet was very easy as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
When it comes to exporting, it's not the easiest to get it exactly how I want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet for time and stakeholder management, keeping up to date on tasks. Its formatting and emailing update features enhance efficiency and help meet deadlines.

Finally moving my manual tracking into an automated dashboard
What do you like best about the product?
What I love most is how it handles Sheet Summaries and hierarchy. Unlike a standard spreadsheet, where formulas get buried in the grid, Smartsheet lets me pull high-level metrics like my weekly completion rates into a separate sidebar. This 'hidden brain' approach keeps my task list clean while still feeding live data to an executive dashboard.
The Column Formula feature is also a massive time-saver. Once I set up the logic for parent-child row assignments, I didn't have to worry about broken links or manual entry every time I added a new task. It feels like a robust database that happens to look like a familiar grid.

What do you dislike about the product?
The formula syntax can be a bit of a headache at first. It’s not quite the same as Excel or Google Sheets, so I ran into some #UNPARSEABLE errors while trying to set up my hierarchy and week assignments. There's definitely a learning curve to figuring out how the sheet interacts with the summary sidebar.
Also, it’s not always intuitive that you can’t just copy-paste text between cells using automation. I had to change my workflow to a manual copy-paste for rolling over tasks because the platform is more rigid than a simple spreadsheet when it comes to moving data around automatically.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was struggling to keep my project updates organised as I handled multiple projects. I needed a way to track weekly completions and rollover tasks without the manual mess of a basic spreadsheet. Smartsheet solved this by letting me build a structured hierarchy where my tasks are nested under specific weeks.
The main benefit is the automated reporting. Now, I have a single dashboard that pulls data directly from my sheet summaries. It gives me a clear, visual way to show my manager exactly what’s done and what’s blocked without me having to rebuild the report every Monday morning. It’s made my professional tracking much more scalable and transparent.

Flexible, Easy Project Tracking with Real-Time Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is flexible and easy to use for project tracking and collaboration. It helps organize tasks, timelines and dependencies clearly and the real-time updates keep everyone aligned.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features have a learning curve and advanced automation or reporting can feel limited without higher-tier plans. It can also become expensive as teams and usage grow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us solve the challenge of managing projects and workflows in one place. It improves visibility, accountability, and collaboration across the team, making it easier to stay on track and meet deadlines.
Versatile One-Click Views and Mobile Forms That Make Data Capture Easy
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most is the versatility of being able to transform spreadsheets into different views with a single click. In addition, I take advantage of how easy it is to create forms that let you upload data or photographs directly from your mobile device.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a row limit per sheet, which quickly falls short when I’m trying to work with large inventories or very high volumes of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s excellent for project management, as it lets you monitor progress in real time while keeping all documentation centralized in one place.
Portfolio Visibility with a "One Team" Feel Thanks to Standardization and Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to collaborate and standardize are the two most critical features that make Smartsheet the tool of choice.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features and functionalities that I would have expected to translate (especially some basic ones that are found in MS Project or even Excel) like in cell rich text formatting, exporting pdf with the today's date line, and a few others.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Standardizing project plans across 30+ sites and thousands of users was non-existent prior to Smartsheet. Every client interaction felt like working with a completely different customer even within the same site and team. Implementing Smartsheet made it easier to be more consistent and reduce timeline delays. It also helped with Risk identification and management - providing more visibility into any critical path delays.
Smartsheet is great for creating project schedules and expense tracking.
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to add an attachment to an individual row is what sets Smartsheet apart from other spreadsheet platforms. I like the Gant layout and the ease of being able to create a project schedule that I then export and upload onto Procore. The formatting and data all stay the same when I export and upload. I use it weekly to create and update our project schedules.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s frustrating not being able to easily modify multiple rows at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us organize and track our business financials, especially for project expense tracking, because we can attach documents and files to specific rows. That added context makes it easier to stay on top of expenses and sets us up for success when creating expense projections.
Great Template Variety, But Finding the Right One Takes Time
What do you like best about the product?
Still new to Smartsheet. The templates seem to be very useful and have a vast variety of templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not so easy to find exactly the template you need
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is taking the time out of building sheets I need.
