great software

What do you like best about the product?
I like best about Smartsheet is its ability to combine the familiarity of a spreadsheet with the power of a dynamic project management tool. It strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and sophistication, making it ideal for users at all levels—from frontline staff to senior executives.

One of Smartsheet’s standout features is its flexibility. Whether you're managing a complex project with multiple stakeholders or tracking day-to-day operations, it adapts to your workflow. The ability to create custom dashboards, automate repetitive tasks, and link data across sheets provides full visibility and control over project performance without needing to rely on separate tools or systems.

Another major strength is its real-time collaboration capabilities. Smartsheet eliminates the need for endless email threads and version control headaches. Teams can comment directly on rows, attach files, and set notifications, ensuring that everyone stays aligned and up to date. The permission-based sharing structure also allows you to control access at a granular level—critical when working with cross-functional or external teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Smartsheet is that while it offers great flexibility, it can become cluttered and hard to manage if not set up properly from the start. There's a learning curve when building complex automations or reports, and some advanced features—like cross-sheet formulas or data mesh—can be unintuitive without documentation or training

Powerful collaboration tool for streamlining workflow.

What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet at work and find it very useful for managing tasks and collaborating with my team. It's easy to assign work, track progress, and stay updated in real time. The templates and automation features help save time.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that could be improved is how cells behave compared to Excel. For example, when copying and pasting data, Smartsheet tends to overwrite cells instead of shifting them automatically like Excel does. Since most of us are used to Excel, this difference takes some time to get used to. I’d really love to see Smartsheet adopt more Excel-like behavior for smoother data entry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet at work and find it really helpful for keeping our team organized. It provides transparency over the workflow, making it easy to see what stage each project is at. This helps a lot with collaboration and coordination across the team.

Using Smartsheet for program management

  • June 25, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Easy to use, even newcomers can start working after undergoing simple training.
2. Brief interface and can provide systematic management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some tasks require adding an attachment as evidence. Smartsheet can only detect whether a document is attached or not. If the administrator needs to review the document, they cannot view it from the main interface; instead, they must click into each task and locate the attached document, requiring additional steps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Systematic management for project management.

Using Smartsheet for project management and as a data source of truth

  • June 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's so much easier to use, and a lot more intuitive, than Excel. The interface is clean, and I appreciate being able to put together sophisticated dashboards quickly. The automations have also saved me a lot of time chasing people for individual updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish Smartsheet had a tab feature where, similar to Excel, a sheet could contain multiple tabs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is solving our need for a centralized, reliable source of truth across teams. We use it to manage client portfolios and dashboards, streamlining how we track program performance and share updates. It also powers key internal workflows, like client billing and resourcing, through WorkApps, giving us a flexible but structured way to manage data at scale. Having everything connected in one platform has improved visibility, reduced duplicate work, and helped us maintain alignment across the business.

Smartsheets for the WIN!!!

  • June 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets has completely transformed our team’s workflow, greatly enhancing both efficiency and functionality. We've discovered countless ways to use it to save time, boost success across multiple areas, and simplify even the most complex tasks. I highly recommend this program! Definitely a MUST HAVE, easy to use and their customer support has been pretty awesome!!! The amount of templates to choose from is definitely a bonus too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find many of the paid or upgraded features too expensive. The overhead from these integrations is overwhelming, and I'm having difficulty balancing their cost versus their necessity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping us solve several key challenges, including disorganized workflows, lack of visibility across projects, and inefficient task management. By centralizing our processes and providing real-time collaboration tools, it's significantly improved our team's communication and accountability. We're now able to automate repetitive tasks, track progress more effectively, and make data-driven decisions with confidence. Overall, it's saving us time, reducing errors, and increasing productivity across the board.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I am able to create task lists for myself and data capture forms that I can share with my coworkers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I cannot remove the primary column. I know it is a minute issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows me to aggregate information from the respondents without them inundating me with emails.

Tracking and shared projects made easier

  • June 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Previously, I felt like I had to use two software to do what Smartsheet does, but now that Smartsheet has automation, shareability, grids, timelines, and even document storage, I no longer have to jump between!

I was new to using it when I joined my team, but in little to no time, I felt like I became a Smartsheet pro! Not to mention that I went from using it once a week in a meeting, to now using it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I wish there were more visual editing capabilities, or even the ability to freeze the top row instead of only the first column.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously our team wasn't able to have visibility on what we were all doing in an active way. We had excel sheets in shared folder, but you could never see if someone was already working on it or what they were doing. Now we are able to track who last worked on rows, who attached a document, see group timelines, and even set automation to alert certain members on our team about tasks that have been added.

Using smartsheet for sustainability efforts at construction company

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like its interconnectedness potential. It is great for data collection and having multiple users fill out forms that have data aggregated in the same place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was not involved in setting up the forms and have had some issues trying to figure it out after the fact.

It is not clear who our account manager is, and it would be great to have easy access to them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us track fuel use and product use on a few of our larger projects that are too big to track manually.

Great tools

  • June 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet stands out for its user-friendly interface, making it accessible for both beginners and experienced users. Setting up automation is straightforward, allowing for efficient task management and notifications. Additionally, creating dashboards for project tracking is intuitive, providing clear visual insights into progress and key metrics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite its strengths, Smartsheet has some limitations that impact its functionality:
1. Column Limitations: The restriction on the number of columns in a sheet can be a hindrance for complex projects requiring extensive data fields.
2. Cost of Features: Certain functionalities, such as external workspaces, come at an additional cost, which feels restrictive as these could be included in the base package.
3. Pivot Table Shortcomings: Unlike Excel, Smartsheet’s pivot tables lack robust multi-criteria filtering, limiting their analytical power.
4. Form Functionality: Forms require API coding for auto-populating columns, which is cumbersome. Additionally, the inability to limit dropdown options based on other column selections reduces form efficiency.
5. Limited Dashboard Interactivity: Compared to tools like Power BI, Smartsheet’s dashboards offer limited user interaction, such as selecting date ranges or applying filters, which would enhance data exploration.
6. Workflow - able to attach the attachments with "message" setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Transparency of task stage
- Improvement in team performance
- Coordinate workflows with other teams

My experience has been great, Smartsheet has features that makes manage projects a lot easier.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how intuitive and customizable the process of creating a dashboard is.
What do you dislike about the product?
When updating the date of a task, the changes to other dependent tasks that are impacted by the date adjustment do not clearly highlight what has been updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps keeping all the stakeholders and leadership informed on the status of the projects, specially with the use of dashboards.
