Review of Smartsheet for client PM services
What do you like best about the product?
Tools and templates that are built and can be used as templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limits on sheets and a little slow to navigate within a project compared to MS Project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prebuilt reports enable efficiencies in reporting and dashboards.
I really linked how connected it was to other systems.

It is a space where we can safely have clients self serve and support our tools.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate its ease of use, flexibility, and the strong integration capabilities.
It's an effective tool for managing projects, tracking tasks and collaborating with other teams. It's our main tool for planning activities. Dynamic views are truly advantageous, and the capacity to generate disparate views (grid, Gantt, card, calendar) facilitates seamless adaptation to diverse workflows.

What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is really less intuitive and visually appealing compared to alternatives.

It's very useful for planning and for the integration with other business tools

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is how visual and user-friendly it is. The ability to create customised dashboards and reports makes it incredibly effective for both Project and Portfolio Management. I also really appreciate the automation features—they help streamline our workflows by sending timely reminders to keep project updates on track.
What do you dislike about the product?
One drawback of Smartsheet is that it can feel a bit rigid at times. For example, there's a limit to the number of characters allowed in a single cell, and the platform doesn't currently support horizontal swimlanes, which would be useful for certain types of visual planning. Additionally, exporting a sheet into a Word document isn't very straightforward or user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet to manage, track and view our overall portfolio — to have one single source of truth that enables better, quicker decision-making, effective resource planning, and overall improved strategic alignment. In one view, we can view projects across the entire business, along with their priority, RAG status, Path to Green commentary and estimated launch date.

What do you like best about the product?
Organizing plans and to do lists. Being able to share with other colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Working and creating dashboards. The setup is easy of listing out projects and timelines but building the dashboards is hard. wish there was an AI feature that would just do it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up GOST updates and timelines. Sharing with others for updates on project and task completion.
Useful Tool for both Project and Team Management
What do you like best about the product?
The forms and freedom to use the platform in the way that works best for me and my team(s).

There is a barrier to entry in terms of knowing what different license levels can actually take on that can limit collaboration.

Mainly collaboration across internal and external teams for project management.
I find that smartsheet is user friendly with a little learning curve.

There are a variety of templates to choose from.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve with the different functions. I am a hands on learning and find it hard to review videos etc. for instructions. I do appreciate that this was available, it is just not my learning style. While some of the functions took a little longer, I figured it out. I did not contact Customer Support.

I lead two projects on my team. It helps the team stay informed on task and timelines.

Some features are hard to learn quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SmartSheet helps me stay organized by tracking development timelines, consultant tasks, and permit milestones in one place. It improves team visibility and reduces delays by keeping everyone on the same page.
Makes Visuals easy!!
What do you like best about the product?
I feel it allows me to intergrate multiple programs to be displayed in one place! We use this for our changeover meetings, allowing us to relay information very smoothly. It is quite easy to teach others how to use it, as well as being able to use it every day and how easy it was to roll out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel that the widgets could be more unique in a sense of displaying information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is able to help us display tons of metrics and information across many platforms. I feel that it makes things way more visible for our teams spanning 6 shifts. Ability to have everyone in the know is important.
Good for the most part
What do you like best about the product?
Smart sheets is great for data management, it's flexible with easy user interface, and it's most useful feature to us is the usage of mobile devices for the platform. We use it daily for live performances and keep track of most things. The access to API's works great, we implement external code so that we can do the automations we want to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support read a script, but too many of the issues we had needed to be solved by our team. It feels limited in both automations as well as interface on the back end. Small things, such as conversations needed to be removed manually if they're tied to a sheet, we can't copy cells and paste them to a different sheet, connectivity to Power Automate is not the best and is severely limited. Automations take a few minutes, and you can't prioritize automations or time them by the minute, so they require specific structuring even though it wouldn't be an issue with programs such as Excel. They update features that seem more aesthetic and there are many small details that could instead be improved which would honestly increase the apps value.

Smartsheets allows us to have mobile devices directly insert data onto the sheets which we are able to use the very same day for inventory across multiple theaters.
