Dashboarding and Reporting - Oh wow... Navigation, oh-no
What do you like best about the product?
We at Platform golf have had a great run and used some awesome dashboard features to report at many different levels of our org. User friendly, clean and easy to implement
What do you dislike about the product?
The users in the org have had a pretty significant challenge picking up the navigation of smartsheets. If it was more like desktop nav, that'd be great.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reporting - automated reporting based off pm plans. Simple stuff but its stuff we needed the best solution for.
A supercharged spreadsheet (if you're in to that sort of thing)
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a very powerful spreadsheet with a lot of integration options. It unlocks functionality that other spreadsheets don't have (yet).
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet feels a little dated and sometimes overly complex. The UI needs a touchup. Spreadsheets have their place in the productivity world but they feel a little...dated. There are a lot more useful ways to interact with and visualize data and I think Smartsheet should surface those more prominently within it's UI. Think Notion or Airtable, which allow you to quickly spin up and visualize relational data in a very easy way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using for project tracking. It allowed us to pull in data from other places via integrations, which was great.
Smartsheet for management of life science R+D
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Smartsheet daily for about 6 years to manage various aspects of a large life science R+D group, including a light CRM application, reagent core requests, purchasing requests, and timeline/resource management. Smartsheet is great at putting everything in the same place and it is very easy to use basic functions which get projects moving. The automation functions are strong as well, and very easy to implement at a basic level for reminders, timed followups, and moving forward in processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not a lot of drawbacks, but a major one is an inability to produce an attractive Gantt chart. It should not be difficult to make a presentable figure in a program which can already do so much. Support has been only OK - I get reachouts regularly and people sou d helpful but the ones reaching out are not able to handle more than basic problems, and getting deeper support requires scheduling meetings with additional support folks, who are often pretty busy. I have not attempted to integrate Smartsheet with other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps to keep my team and I organized on project timing and resourcing, as well as managing purchasing and internal request workflows.
Game Changer
What do you like best about the product?
We created a Smartsheet that automatically sends emails for current documentation from our subcontractors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, it's so much better than other programs for what we need to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
being able to track documents from outside vendors. It emails them automatically so I don't have to.
All Metrics and Project Planning in One Place
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease with which sheets and dashboards flow with each other. I work at a company where there are multiple ongoing projects and we are able to use it to keep track of everything going on while also displaying key metrics and timelines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some people think that it is an equal tool to excel, but they have different functions. I am often asked to recreate an excel tracker in smartsheet but that is not always possible. There is not a graphing function (that I'm aware of).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us show data visually in realtime. We used to always make static slides decks to display a lot of our metrics and ongoing information. With smartsheets, this information is getting pulled in realtime to a dashboard so that everyone is kept in the loop without having to create slides.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, great project management tool, easy to share workspaces, clean feel and look. I use it almost everyday.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the additional features are hard to figure out. An example would be notifying my email when I get submissions.

Streamlining all answers from franchisees for our marketing team.

I use Smartsheet primarily for graphic plans and approvals.
Smartsheets for Educators (Novice Point of view)
What do you like best about the product?
I like thst Smartsheet allows me to create dashboards to demostrate what our district program has accomplished by school site or department.
What do you dislike about the product?
Date can't be broken down by school sites unless I do all the building myself. It is a long process to only show data by targeted school or subgroup from a full file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not sure. I stick to the little I know to build what I need to provide.
A simple, cheaper alternative to MS Project/P6
What do you like best about the product?
It’s very simple, intuitive and user friendly, I am mostly using it as a planning tool and it’s been incredibly easy to hit the ground running with it
What do you dislike about the product?
The “workspace” and overall views can sometimes be confusing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As previously mentioned, I use it for planning and producing GANTT charts and programmes very easily and I even baselined and used it to track a whole project to completion, worked very well, it has many other options but that’s how I am using it
I see no reason why SmartSheets exists considering what it offers compared to its competitors.

Nothing really - it's a glorified spreadsheet. I guess the price might be what caused my organisation to purchase a licence.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything - the UI is clunky, the example/templates are unprofessional and very hard to deploy, it feels like a solution which is just cobbled together. Finally, I was absolutely hounded by your sales team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the moment, no problem. I tried to use it to solve a problem which required collaboration between several organisations - everyone hated it and did not use it. So, at the moment it is basically a glorified spreadsheet.
