What do you like best about the product?
I find Smartsheet easy to start tracking activities and creating intake forms is simple and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I have noticed is, if a Smartsheet is shared, the other users can sometimes easily mess it up if they are not careful in their edits, but this is not really on Smartsheets- people need to be careful, right?.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets allows us to track assets, spare parts inventory, and maintenance requests and daily work completions by multiple maintenance technicians within our specific facility.
We also use Smartsheet's on a corporate basis to tack project completion on many projects.
It is very simple to start using- setup is straightforward and we can customize and define the sheet as needed. I love the ability to sort the various sheets depending on my interest or the task status I am seeking to review, etc.

Great Potential, But Room For Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is relatively easy to use once you get the hang of it. The forms are straightforward to build, making it simple to collect and organize information.
With better implementation support, improved collaboration features, and more intuitive dashboard/tools, it could be a leader in the space.

What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet has strong core functionality, several aspects make it frustrating for broad use.
Licensing & Collaboration Limitations – The licensing model works if only PMs are creating/managing content, but it’s poor for collaboration. Team members need paid licenses to do anything beyond adding comments, which hinders engagement.
Poor Onboarding & Communication from Sales – When we purchased, our rep never mentioned features like Control Center. We built a workaround that now makes it hard to implement Control Center without major disruption. It’s frustrating to learn about key features only after committing to a different structure.
Community & Support Gaps – The community forum is disorganized, with outdated content, repetitive questions, and minimal Smartsheet staff responses. Support for urgent issues is slow, and there was a lack of best practices guidance during implementation.
Interface & Usability Frustrations –
Dashboards are time-consuming to make visually appealing, with no alignment or measurement tools, and resizing charts requires changes in reports instead of in the dashboard.
Limited dashboard visuals and color customization—no ability to add custom hex codes for branding.
Sheet roll-ups and indents aren’t clearly broken out.
Task descriptions require extra columns, which clutter the sheet and make it visually busy.
Predecessors automatically affect dates; there’s no option to show them for information only.
Cannot share access at the folder level—permissions must be managed sheet by sheet.
Technical & Automation Constraints –
#REF errors don’t explain the problem.
Automations and reporting require excessive hidden columns just to function.
Limited automation rules and flexibility.
Overall Design Philosophy –
Smartsheet feels like a glorified Excel with rigid structures. The interface could be more intuitive, letting users click into tasks for details or linking to templates without cluttering the sheet with unused columns. It’s not well-suited for organizations that need a more flexible project management approach.

Smartsheet on G2
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a platform all companies should invest in. Not only does it allow us to track important data, but it makes it easier to find and report to other departments. For someone that uses Smartsheet on a daily basis almost all day long, I have found and used almost every tool possible. Its also nice having a rep always there to help answer questions we have, or issues we may run into. I am apart of the Early Adopter's Program and having the opportunity to chat with others and receive feedback about their uses within Smartsheet and new features coming has been awesome.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything that I do not like about Smartsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't necessarily think Smartsheet is having any problems, but I would like to see improvements to come within the next few months to year.
Pros and Cons
What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can create check lists and send out notifications/reminders. I like that you can keep attachments in the spreadsheet and link it to a specific row. I like that it is shared access for others to review/edit as necessary.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that there are so many templates that are not user friendly. I also do not like that you can not Zoom in/out the sheet and still be able to scroll up or down for presentation purposes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to collaborating with team members and use as a checklist/guide.
Love Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I think it's the best way for me to organize my work and stay on top of my day to day. My old company used Smartsheet as their primary project management platform, and I started to use it on my own at my new company because it's that good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I wish it was a platform on my computer rather than a website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me keep all of my different projects and my day-to-day work organized. I work in a position where I handle multiple different things, and I wouldn't be able to keep track of anything without Smartsheet. It's way more helpful than traditional spreadsheets.
Project management made easier!
What do you like best about the product?
It is a really easy to use platform that helps simplifies the every day and ongoing projects
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much! The only thing that is difficult is when there are multiple people updating the same projects and things don't reflect in realtime.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets helps keep everything in one place. We also use it for ticket submission tracking so it is helpful to see the status of my work tickets in a familiar place.
Creating a Register for Data Protection Records
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of the options. There is usually a solution for any idea/intent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the solutions are more 'patches' than 'fixes', in particular for the automation, which will require some additional manual work to arrive to the expected final outcome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us to create forms for reporting information (e.g. data breaches), it helps us to ask for feeback and to notify the relevant actors. It also helped us to build a register of records, and interlinked to it an automation that creates the privacy notice based on the information introduced in the record.
Effectively group reporting tool allowing better cross-functional teamwork
What do you like best about the product?
Multiple access for users, with permissions set by database owner.
Information is updated in real time, nice selection of advanced features and filtering allows users to track projects effectively.
Interface is user friendly and easy to use for people of varying IT skill levels, and the way we managed to integrate this into our overall cross-team workflow was really simple.

What do you dislike about the product?
The need to have to sign back in, despite ticking the box to remember me. However that's probably more of a "me" issue than an error with the site.
Other than that, I've not come across anything I'm not happy with at this time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheet for managing new product development projects and the workflows that form part of the project.
It allows us to ensure that stages are completed in reasonable timeframe and we also know who the project is currently sat with in terms of actions or approvals.
