A great tool for project management
What do you like best about the product?
It makes complex checklists, to-do lists, and project management sheets easy to configure, edit, and share with colleagues. I especially love the ability to make and share templates with team members, so you don't have to start new projects from scratch. I use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some functionalities are a little tricky to figure out, and I wish I knew where there was more documentation on the features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me stay on track of complex projects with detailed to-do lists and deadlines. I can track due-dates for every step of the way, easily update things as project timelines shift, and easily share these with colleagues and customers.

What do you like best about the product?
I was hesitant at first because I had never used Smartsheet. However, I found it to be quite intuitive and easy to use. Highly recommend.

I needed some training at the beginning but once I got going, it's wonderful!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is allowing all departments to be able to talk to each other and have the information we need to properly do our jobs.

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility, and the clean spreadsheet-style interface is what makes SmartSheets great. If you know how to use excel, then you can easily use SmartSheet. In addition, the strong customization and automation features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to quickly filter. A drop down filter at the top is needed. Having to "create" a filter, is time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us when we need to analyze data regarding our projects.

What do you like best about the product?
One of the most helpful things about Smartsheet is the extremely customizable workflow automations. With automations that can trigger either based on a schedule, whether a cell has a certain value, or when any kind of change has been made to a document. The customizability is amazing. I believe that it can be used to make any workplace much more efficient and can provide more transparency on information if used properly.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside on Smartsheet is the ability to do high-level functions for spreadsheets like Microsoft Excel can. The second is the limitation on max amount of data on a Smartsheet. I run several budget reports for my department that span over 30,000 rows in excel and utilize Power-Queries and Power-Pivots, and I would love to bring that to Smartsheet so that I could incorporate it onto a Dashboard. While it is semi-possible to get it done with Data Shuttle, it requires double if not more the amount of effort and time to build.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows me to confidentially let other campus departments see monthly billing information that pertains to only them, and does not show others unnecessary information. Additionally, through the use of Approval Requests, Update Requests, and Dynamic Views, campus partners are able to freely update their billing information at their own convenience without myself needing to manually make adjustments for them. This is extremely helpful as I have to deal with hundreds of invoices each month.

What do you like best about the product?
It is a great shared space for multiple users. Our processors work off the same sheets and it is still manageable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had more complex formula capabilities.

Keep our spreadsheets organized and makes it easy to pull automated info.
Smartsheets is a highly flexible tool
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility that MS project and some other tools don't offer
What do you dislike about the product?
The structure of workspaces and files is not as intuitive as it should be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we have longitudinal projects with lots of dependencies, it makes more sense to use a more traditional project tool vs trying to wedge it into Jira. Also, to get a better sense of timing for these types of efforts.
SmartSheet is not user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
I do not really like much about the tool to be honest. I think some of that automations are nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
I only use the tool because a prior employee thought highly of it. This individual built the product in their own image and really did not make it user friendly for anyone else using. It was sold to me as a project management tool and while it has some of these capabilities, I think that it is a data center and I have used 3 other project management tools with greater capabilities and that are of easier use to the user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None currently.
It is very easy to share data and feel it is a safe environment.

Ability to share data and status on projects.

Really don't have much negative. I wish it had spell check and does not appear to.

Ability for a number of us to work on surveys and updates on projects without bumping into one another.
Smartsheet is a great organizational tool for me and my clients
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it functions similar to excel but with enhanced tools for storing data. I use it everyday with my clients and like that I can share with them.

I have not been able to copy and paste rows from one sheet and put them in another, that would be useful
