Relatively new user - will never go back!
What do you like best about the product?
I was introduced to Smartsheets about 2 years ago when I started working at the University I am at now. Previously, I used multiple other software systems but was really intrigued that Smartsheet is able to do everything I used to have to perform over multiple platforms. I have found Smartsheet really user-friendly and easy to use with a licensed account. I use Smartsheet almost daily at work: mostly for data tracking and form collection. I learn new features and tricks pretty regularly and am very satisfied with both the user experience and the administrative experience. I will continue to advocate for a license in my annual budget.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is that I still have so many features I'd love to learn and use, but haven't even touched beyond the surface of Smartsheet capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in higher education and need a lot of student/faculty submitted data. In my last job, I had to rely on multiple platforms for data submission/collection/and management, now I can use Smartsheet here and only have to use 1 software system. My entire University is also linked to the Smartsheet system, so others can view data as easily as I can share it.
Organized Workflow
What do you like best about the product?
I like how we can customize our dashboard, track project progress, and stay on schedule for deadlines, all while having the option to communicate with each other quickly and efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adding documents to our team’s dashboard can be challenging at times due to the platform’s less intuitive functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep our digital teams on track with the execution of campaigns. Everyone has a part in making sure our campaigns are flawless and come to life excatly how they are envisioned as with Smartsheet we are able to achieve that .

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet's intuitive spreadsheet-style interface made it easy to get started, and the automation tools save us hours each week. Collaboration is seamless - we can comment, share files, and track progress in real time. The dashboards are a game-changer for visibility, helping us keep stakeholders informed with live data. It’s become an essential part of our everyday workflow. Consultations with the support team have helped us utilize the features available to the greatest extent possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet integration can be challenging due to limited native connectors and the need for custom API workarounds. Additionally, its interface complexity can create a steep learning curve for team members unfamiliar with technical tools.

- Not enough easily accessible training tools or comprehensive step-by-step guides
- The platform is not always self-explanatory, which can slow down onboarding for new users or make the onset of learning feel intimidating

Friendly alternative to traditional spreadsheets
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how Smartsheet makes staying organized easier than with traditional spreadsheets. The interface is colorful, user-friendly, and fun to use, which made learning it enjoyable even with a bit of a learning curve. The templates are especially helpful for getting started, and I like that it’s more visually appealing and somewhat more straightforward than Excel. After taking the time to learn it and set up my preferred workflow, I felt like it really helped me manage tasks and deadlines more clearly than traditional spreadsheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The hardest part for me has been getting other people on board to use Smartsheet, especially with outside collaborators. It’s sometimes unclear what type of account guests need to contribute or use the sheets effectively. Additionally, some features took a while to figure out, as there is a bit of a learning curve, but I was excited about the potential of the tool so didn’t mind taking the time to figure it out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Initially, I was trying to come up with a way to track team tasks and deadlines in a collaborative way, which was challenging to figure out a good way to set up using traditional spreadsheets. We wanted an easy to navigate system, especially for the lower tech people on my team who found traditional spreadsheets sometimes a bit harder to use in more advanced ways. I used Smartsheet to create shared task sheets with due dates and automated reminders, so anyone could log in at any time to contribute and see progress in one place. The user-friendly, visually appealing interface makes it easier for the team to stay organized and even makes managing tasks more engaging.
Very useful, but licensing is a nightmare
What do you like best about the product?
The program works really well for project tracking. We have a high number of sheets that range anywhere from Financial assessments to Sales and PM work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Every feature you have added over the last several years requires higher tiers of licensing. When we didn't bite, you attempted to force us to double our licensing by changing the rules. Safe to say we are working on transitioning away from smartsheet by next renewal cycle.

Smartsheet converts complex spreadsheets in to easy-to-digest reports. The reporting system is well established, but could really use better features.

Better Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
The seamless collaboration with staff is very useful for saving time and increasing efficiency in our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike in particular. I would say that new users whom I invite to my sheets are sometimes confused about the onboarding process and tend to request licenses. Perhaps the process of accepting an invitation to Smartsheet could be a bit clearer.

Sharing sales figures and creating sales dashboards for my team. Keeping track of pipelines and marketing events.
More functional
What do you like best about the product?
It can share the link and easily to show other people the functions. Very straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formula function is less likely as excels and lock column functions avoids people copying and pasting.

It can make our business strategy very clear and easy to manage.
Smartsheet Makes works Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use of Smartsheet. It is extremely helpful that their are training videos to help with almost all features of Smartsheets making it easy to use and not so intimating. We are still experimenting with the software in office but feel that implementing smartsheets into everyday work projects has been helpful so far. There are still so many features that smartsheet offers , just have to find the time to learn them all.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't find instructions on how to not have the first column be text is a little frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Definitely helps to solve task and project management between departments.
