Project Planning staple with simple/intuitive functionality
What do you like best about the product?
Reliable project planning tool with the functionality to create very useful team dashboards, project plans, forms, and other items. I love that it is simple functionality which is intuit and easy to pick up a first time user.
What do you dislike about the product?
When creating project plans, I would love to see a better visual for the gantt chart. I essentially never use the gantt chart as I can't customize it and make it visually appealing enough to place into any decks/executive presentations. Allowing better visual customization and easy drop-in to PowerPoint/Google Slides would be a huge win.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides intuitive and simple functionality that is most commonly used when creating project plans. Some specific examples: 1) Creating child tasks that auto populate the start/end dates of the parent task based on all sub activities 2) auto adjusting dates of tasks that have dependencies on other tasks. 3) Creating a gantt chart based on the tasks/activities

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been an excellent tool for enhancing collaboration across different teams and organizations. What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes to search for some administrator options is kind of tricky, but as soon as you get the thing going is Ok.

SmartSheet is Super Cool
What do you like best about the product?
The automations are easy to make, the reports are bi-directional which is super useful, the ability to create complex workflows that automate business processes and share information. Sharing files and documents is super easy. Love the row-level comments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Moving to charge for free accounts that my customers use that are attached to the SmartSheets that I make. Doing reporting is somewhat painful as I need a helper column for everything.

Smartsheet is a tool with a lot of functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our end users, despite extensive training have struggle to use it effectively. I would characterize it as not very user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is our current scheduling solution. To be completely transparent, we have been trying to find an alternate since before I started working here.

What do you like best about the product?
I can easily find anything i want with this Tool. My projects got waaay more organized after i started with this tool. AMANZING JOB!

I think they should offer more payment methods

This tool has saved hours of meetings because of the easy of displaying projects requirements and such.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the near real-time collaboration between colleagues (over MS Project). Pretty intuitive understanding of the tool, little to no need for training.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks common excel shortcuts. Real-time is not instantaneous. AI does not create dashboards for my sheets automatically.

One of the most valuable features of Smartsheet is its collaborative nature. It functions like a spreadsheet but allows multiple users to work on the same sheet simultaneously, eliminating the need to share updated versions manually. Once a page or workspace is shared, collaborators can view real-time updates through the same link, which greatly enhances transparency and efficiency in team workflows.
The automation features to add alerts and notifications are great.
Different views like different chart views are useful sometimes.
We can manage the permissions at different levels like viewer, editor can share or editor cannot share, admin, etc.

While Smartsheet supports real-time collaboration, it can sometimes lead to conflicts when multiple users edit the same row or cell simultaneously, potentially causing data inconsistencies.
As the sheet grows in size, with many rows and columns, the performance tends to degrade. Features like "Find/Search" can become sluggish, and overall loading times increase.
It seems expensive for individuals or small teams because for every additional feature, we have to upgrade or purchase more rights.
Another important thing is that it is still more easy to add a formula in Excel compared to Smartsheet.

For big projects involving multiple SKUs or tasks with varying turnaround times, manually updating client, every time a task status changes can be time-consuming and inefficient. Initially, we had to export the Smartsheet file and send it as an attachment or screenshot via email.
To streamline this process, we created a dedicated report within Smartsheet that pulled only the relevant data for that specific client and project. By sharing this report directly with the client, they could view real-time updates without needing to request them. This approach significantly reduced the back-and-forth communication, saved time for both parties, and improved overall project transparency and efficiency.
