What is most valuable?
We found it to be very transparent and good at monitoring data access activities without impacting the performance. It can easily identify unusual behavior or access patterns that may pose a potential threat, while operating as a unified reporting system.
What needs improvement?
It is significantly complex.

What do you like best about the product?
The Varonis Data Security Platform is Userfriendly because there are a lot dashboard ans reporting already done.
In addition, it covers a lot of perimeter (Office 365 / Active DIrectory / Fie server / Proxy / Vpn / ...).
It also provides archiving in the conservation of logs.
Finally, it is very easy to use.

The only thing, the interface in French.

Varonis Data Classification Engine is great at what it does!
What do you like best about the product?
We have a large amount of data around our company and were struggling with what type of data is where, Varonis Data Classification Engine helped us go through the data in great detail and find all different types of data such as PII, Credit Card info, GDPR info as well as personal intellectual property.
What do you dislike about the product?
One issue we have with the system is the complexity of it, it requires a minimum of 2 very high horsepower virtual machines and more to run more effectively. Having more servers would allow the data to be scanned faster but in my environment would require over 30 additional servers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Like I said before the server sprawl is high but overall the more resources you are able to throw at it the better result you will get from it. If you have a single large set of data all located physically close to your scanners it can perform great with less horsepower.

robust features, easily integrate with classification tools , very detailed logging and complete reports to get an insight of sensitive data

Complicated to configure and sometimes get disconnection with f policy

data discovery, data remediation , Threat detection and response, data classification, we are using to protect AD , network shares, file share and finding the anomalies

DataPrivilege is a wonderful solutions, on my past work experience we would not only implement this solution on client premise but also use it internally on our own premise.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the beginning we would need some initial training to be familiar with the solutions and be able to implement it properly. However the training instance connection is quite slow and its a hassle to learn under such situation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Walking through structured and unstructured data automatically, easily classify and identify data within systems. DatAlert in addition to ease alerting of crucial data helps a lot.

What do you like best about the product?
Varonis' solution suite of data classification and alerting tools are game-changing for managing both unstructured and structured data alike. It's the best tool I have ever used to shine a light on the unknown unknowns in our file shares. Not only was it able to locate and automatically detect PII we didn't know we had, it continued to identify new infractions on data management policy in near real-time. It's 1000% easier to fix process problems the day after data is created when you know who put it there, who is accessing it, and how often it happens.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial setup is a challenge, but the Varonis professional services team did a great job helping us identify our day 1 use cases as well as coming back to help assess the results after the product had been running for a month. Once we had a few weeks of data, we were able to start making real improvements to our data flows and processes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding PII, credit card data, and other proprietary customer data in our existing legacy file shares. There was no way to correctly tackle this project without a classification engine and analytics since the tech teams responsible simply can't police every legacy file share and bad habit.

Varonis data Classification feature will give us the privilege to classify our data, differentiate between our database, files, folders etc, to focus on securing the important data and sensitive data.,
What do you dislike about the product?
In Varonis data Classification, we can create rule to classify our data as per our need or requirements, however if we want to modify the existing rule it will scan the entire data again. Kind of repeated work.,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Varonis data Classification Engine, will help us to create classification rules as per our need to classify the data. After classification of data we can easily focuse on securing the important data instead of securing less important data.,

I highly recommend Varonis data classification engine because it is easy to use, user friendly, and very effective for the organization.

Great Tool for Access Control
What do you like best about the product?
Varonis DataPrivilege is a really basic tool for requesting and assigning access to folders and directories for individuals or groups. The simplicity is actually one of its strengths, as it makes it very straight forward to understand and use -no unnecessary or complicated bells and whistles to sift through, just a handful of fields and branches to select from, and a request is made. I love how an automated workflow will send the request to the appropriate manager for approval, so this tool is really a one-stop shop for access requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though the simplicity of the tool is one of its strengths, that's also a weakness, as the tool really doesn't do much other than access requests. It can feel overbearing to have a separate tool for everything you do at your company, and this is one that is very limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Varonis has made it very easy to make access requests. We appreciate the simplicity and have little to no issues working with the tool. Whenever access is needed, either temporarily or permanently, we go to Varonis DataPrivilege, and get the job done.
