User Friendly Experience
What do you like best about the product?
The ease with which you can submit a press release across the wire, as well as the super convenient press contact database to ensure your communications are getting to the right people at the right media outlets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I think can be improved is the ease with which you can pull the analytics from the press release distribution. The 24 and 48 hour email updates are great, but that data isn't stored anywhere within the program for future reference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralizing the media activity around our company and our competitors and making it easy to digest has been really helpful.
Social Listening Tool for All
What do you like best about the product?
What stands out most about Meltwater is its social listening aspect. The wide range of tools and features thelp us with digital media monitoring and analysis. From media tracking and social listening (which is what we use) to journalist outreach and influencer management. The social listening tool really picks up everything worldwide which is helpful for our international business. As well, their real-time insights are beneficial, and Meltwater seems to deliver on this front. The suite's ability to track keywords, mentions, and trending topics in real-time enables us to stay on trend and on top of users talking about us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwaters platform's search engine can be a bit confusing initially. It took me some time to get a grasp of it, and refining searches to focus on what's essential for the company's keywords - it requires additional time to explore and
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This platform has allowed me to stay connected with our audience's evolving needs, preferences, and to help aid in any negative press. We have also used it to address customer concerns. We also just went through a name change and it helped to track mentions of who was still saying our old name vs new name.

Meltwater provides acess to vast amount of online and offline media sources allowing us to get a holistic view of our brand's online presense and reputation. This is helpful when reporting to our clients on user sentiment, comments, and engagement regarding a case that is ongoing.

What do you dislike about the product?
Cost: I find this tool to be on the expensive side. If it serves your companies needs, than this is exteremly worth it. Otherwise, it is a big expense if it does not serve you well.

Meltwater is More Than Just a Comms Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has undergone a huge change from how I first used them in 2017. Back then, their databases were stale and out-of-date and their account representatives seemed only interested in getting you to renew your contract. Those days are gone! Now their database is dynamic and well researched. They're monitoring tools are effective and easy to use. Their account representatives are available to help you troubleshoot and optimize your use of their tools. And, they now have well-built traingings, frequent webinars, and this wonderful mCommunity piece where you can network and brainstorm with other PR & Comms professionals. Meltwater has changed the game and is offering a superior product with a lot of different touchpoints that allow you to be the best Comms professional your organization has ever seen!
What do you dislike about the product?
Literally nothing. I feel like Meltwater has transitioned from being the punchline of the joke in the PR & Comms world to being an industry leader that far surpasses their competition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater allows me to easily track earned media pick-ups in addition to social media mentions and uses of our hashtags. It also lets me easily research writers i should be pitching stories to. I also greatly appreciate and benefit from using their mCommunities online and in-person.

It's great having an archive to find media coverage not just on our company, but on competitors and programs we're interested in supporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The internet is a big place so it can be difficult sometimes to filter out the unncessary or irrelevant news coverage.

Capturing media coverage and reporting it internally with a newsletter.
