Aggressive staff and spam.
What do you like best about the product?
I honestly couldn't tell you because there isn't anything that I like best.
What do you dislike about the product?
I very much so dislike their aggressive sales tactics, their inability to take a firm "no" for an answer, their complete disregard for our time, and their practice of adding people to their mailing lists without actually getting permission to do so. In my experience, Meltwater is nothing more than an aggregator for their own spam.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None, absolutely none. I wouldn't ever use their service based on multiple experiences with their sales staff and their complete lack of integrity. To be clear, I do not use Meltwater but that's not an option in this review form. I can say that the complimentary reports that they sent us seemed convoluted and painful on the eyes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look elsewhere. When a company lacks integrity, do you really want them involved in your data?

I use meltwater the most and the ability to simply create a query and run it.

Results are mostly limited to twitter and other forums and news articles. Hence it might skew the results

What do you like best about the product?
Able to see who was talking about our client. What was trending and how to send press releases and manage our lists.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to learn how to use in the beginning and didn't offer a lot of training services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to send press releases and monitor social engagement. Benefits were not having to email every outlet separately, we could mass send out everything.

I like all of the different reports it compiles, it makes it super easy for annual reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we’ve found that not all of our local media gets picked up. But it’s a simple email to our Meltwater rep, and they fix it right away!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It saves me a lot of time when I’m reporting metrics.
Meltwater is an highly integrated and efficient tool for racking marketing analytics.

Meltwater is very integrated across many marketing platforms and pulls listening reports and metrics from all of the major media areas.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwater is very robust and not always the easiest to navigate. It's challenging to be knowledgeable on all of the tools Meltwater offers and sometimes overwhelming to know where to start.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater has been an excellent tool to track social listening and find out how our audiences best engage with our brand.
Great for School Districts
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a great tool for my district. We use the product for all of our press releases and social and media monitoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
For our purposes, there isn’t anything we dislike. The product is relatively user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solved the problem of maintaining an accurate media database and of being aware of what our patrons were saying about us on social media. The product is great and cuts the time to monitor multiple sites in half which is good for smaller departments.
Not great value for the cost and commitment

Does a decent job of curating media contacts; decent queries in terms of PR mentions
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to create a query that doesn't either give you way too many results and/or a precise result.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help with monitoring PR; quite frankly, Google Alerts has performed as well or better.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best is the ability to look up contacts and the ability to email a variety of contacts at once.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s a bit hard to navigate the site at first and there is a lot going on with the service. But with the help of a sales team it was easier to figure out.

Seeing targets across a variety of disciplines.
One of the best coverage tracking tool.
What do you like best about the product?
This is one of the best content coverage tool. Besides monitoring coverage of one’s brand, one can simultaneously find and email influencers, keep a track of all trending keywords. The most UNIQUE feature of this tool is that it can detect duplicate brand mentions (sometimes there are duplicate repostings of the same content that you post). So this tool detect these duplicacies and instead of increasing brand mention exponentially, it regects this but increases the quality of monitoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its not so impressive print and broadcast coverage book is a big turn off otherwise the filtered and genuine media monitoring sets it apart.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is very easy to use and customize based on regular changing needs. You can also customize reports – for example, if you’re working on a particular topic, you can set it up so you receive an email every morning on the latest coverage, or an important keyword you are tracking.

Easy user interface which makes it easier to setup and get started.
The software already has a good reach so it can make add new media sources easily.

Customisations of the software is not possible by creating dashboards and widgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If you don’t have a method or process to track brand mentions and to search news mentions relevant to industry then this software is the best to go forward.
