Not for me
What do you like best about the product?
When Meltwater is able to catch all of my articles, the tagging feature is really nice to keep track of different campaigns. I'm sure that the analysis of coverage is helpful, too, but I can't even use it until I get to a point where its tracking all my coverage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not user-friendly - doesn't feel like it was created with its audience (PR pros) in mind. Doesn't catch around half of my coverage. While my rep tries to be helpful, they often ultimately take up quite a bit of my time (Saving time was the reason I got Meltwater.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working to cut down time spent on manually finding media coverage via google alerts. Have been using MW for a year and I'm not quite there yet.

I would seek out advice from other pros on what they're using.

Good tool
Lots of kinks and UI issues, media library is not very large, adding is cumbersome
What do you like best about the product?
I like the search functions best, it's easy and thorough searching by topics, keywords, etc. I use this to track coverage for clients and it digs up everything, catches more than Google alerts for sure.
What do you dislike about the product?
The database/library of journalists/authors/publishers is not very large. We are always having to add people from scratch which is not easy or intuitive. The site has a lot of UI glitches and is not always intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Outreach to media and influencers, tracking coverage for clients, searching media by keywords.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They have a ways to go, customer service is great and they are responsive to customer feedback.

I like how I can search documents of different articles and books all in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be confusing to navigate.

Researching and finding answers when working on articles all in one place and in a timely manner.

What do you like best about the product?
Influencer lookup and Engage are very helpful tools, and help my team target press releases, plan our media and really understand our metrics.
What do you dislike about the product?
How slowly engage loads, some of the confusion on how to use the platform by some of our other users, and the complexity of some Boolean search queries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is truly an all in one solution to my lean team’s PR needs!

the tool is fairly easy to navigate, user-friendly, which makes it convenient. i like the dashboard visibility and reporting the most

logging in is a nuisance sometimes, because when you try to log in through the web browser, you have to go through all of the other meltwater new customer ads just to find the login menu

competitive monitoring and analysis along with monitoring all of media, social media and the reporting/analytics for all our channels

once you have everything set up, your day-to-day usage of it gets easier. know that you can always call your account manager for any questions or to help walk you and your team through anything because they're always helpful!

Media updates via phone and email. Easy to use interface

Constantly being upsold, increasing cost of contract, need to negotiate every costs, doesn’t include all media

Daily reports categorized by platform/location of appearance.

The sales team is very persistent and seems not to be aligned with the customer's information during the sale.

What do you like best about the product?
Good product for media monitoring--seems like close to real time posting of stories
What do you dislike about the product?
My only concern is the pricing. It's very pricey but it's also been very beneficial. I just have a limited budget.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With a limited staff, this service is a great resource--everything is right a my fingertips

Again, the product is very good. And, the customer service is exceptional.
This tool is essential for me to perform in my role keeping our company informed
What do you like best about the product?
I love that once i have my dashboard set up, i have the resources I need to get the daily information I need, right at my finger tips. I also like that I can set up auto alerts on new news items.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes time to refine your search parameters. It is a continual process. The crawlers will bring up stories and items that may not be related to your topic, product. Also sometimes important stories might be missed on certain websites. However, once you tell your support team that they were missed, they will figure out the issue and make sure you don't miss it next time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Meltwater primarily for keeping up on industry news and what our competitors are doing. The Meltwater platform really has been key in allowing us to do this in a streamlined manner. I have used another platform and before that, created my own process of monitoring news. Meltwater is by far the best tool I have found.
