Amazing Way to Create Multiple Drawings and Pieces at Once
Reviewed on Jul 01, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The way of creating drawings. I think is great to create many of them at the same time and also the way to make many pieces at the same time. Is an amazing feature
What do you dislike about the product?
The Design Center in Solid Edge feels somewhat outdated, can become slow when working with large libraries, has limited search and preview capabilities, and sometimes makes part reuse and dependency management more complicated than necessary. It also requires considerable setup to customize for company standards, and its performance can depend heavily on network speed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Design Center in Solid Edge helps centralize and organize CAD files, making it easier to reuse existing parts, manage assemblies, and maintain design consistency across projects. This reduces duplicate work, improves collaboration, and saves time by allowing engineers to quickly find and use standardized components instead of creating them from scratch.

Great Performance in Huge Assemblies, Especially with Express Route
Reviewed on Jul 01, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the performance in huge assemblies, also the addon Express Route gives us fast integration of pipes and hoses to our complex systems. PID is a helpful add-on to bigger systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The universe of different products with Solid Edge is confusing. So many different addons that help but are costly. For a small company like us the benefit must be really well caluclated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can design complex systems with Solid Edge and do a collision analysis for the pipes we design in the system. We can also do 2D drawings of complex systems pretty fast.

Designcenter Solid Edge: Fast Access to Reusable CAD Data Boosts Productivity
Reviewed on Jun 30, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Designcenter Solid Edge is how it helps engineers find, reuse, and manage existing design data instead of recreating parts from scratch. It provides quick access to CAD models, assemblies, and related documentation, which improves productivity and promotes design reuse.
What do you dislike about the product?
One limitation of Designcenter Solid Edge is that it can feel less intuitive for new users, especially when managing large amounts of engineering data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Designcenter Solid Edge solves the problem of finding, organizing, and reusing engineering data. Instead of engineers recreating existing parts or spending time searching through folders, it provides a centralized way to locate CAD models, assemblies, and related documents.

Versatile, Easy-to-Use: Synchronous for Fast R&D, Ordered for Complex Designs
Reviewed on Jun 30, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of Use. Mixed modes - Synchronous for fast R&D; Ordered for complex designs. Excellent drawing creation tools. Community/Academic edition for students.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's only available on Windows (not counting Designcenter X Solid Edge!). Window management is a little clunky - flashes and size changes to a non-maximised window.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Any design process, using best in class processes. Fast drawing creation, 3D printing and what-if scenarios. CAE available for lightweight analysis, which does not require in depth FE knowledge.

Solid Edge — Easy to Install, Intuitive Functions That Save Time
Reviewed on Jun 30, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Solid Edge is very easy to install and to use. All the function is very easy to understand and to know how it works and this saves a lot of time. Also, Siemens support listens to their clients needs and adapts the software to the actual challenge (IA, magnetic assembly ...).
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no downside with Solid Edge. I find all the functions I need and the customer support is available when we need it. This should meet the character requirement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a startup, we have different challenges. With Solid Edge, it is very easy and fast to teach someone on the software. All the functions are easy to understand and to use.

Twice as Fast with Top-Notch Design Features
Reviewed on Jun 29, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I really find the synchronous technology in Designcenter Solid Edge to be an awesome tool; it's at least 2x as fast as ordered. I appreciate that it's a mature product and integrates with NX CAM, and the drawings are very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is outdated and quite laggy. I would love to have an implementation that works on Mac hardware. The initial setup was very hard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Designcenter Solid Edge's synchronous technology awesome, doubling the speed compared to ordered modeling.

Solid Edge: Easy to Use, Great UI, and Powerful for Our Needs
Reviewed on Jun 03, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Solid Edge is easy to use, has a great UI, and is powerful enough for our company needs. I really enjoy tools like Keyshot to enhance our presentations and proposals for our potential customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it seems like the user needs to cancel out of commands constantly using the ESC command. I would like to be able to use mate conditions and ranges to allow showing movement in an assembly by dragging. (SolidWorks has this capability)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Solid Edge more heavily with CAM and additive printing applications within the last couple years. Really enjoy the seamless usage of Solid Edge with our Teamcenter PLM system.

Easy, Manufacturing-Focused CAD with Collaboration—But Limited Compatibility and Adoption
Reviewed on Jun 02, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
It keeps everything in manufacturing perspective. It is relatively easy to use. Parametric features enable feature based modeling. Enables collaboration among team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not very popular among engineering users. That makes it an afterthought in implementation of add-ons and new features. It is not compatible with most of the stuff that NX can work with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a cost effective solution to deal with design in a high horizontal diversity environment. It enables engineers to create parts and assemblies quickly and effectively.

Time-Saving Automation with API Challenges
Reviewed on Jun 02, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I use Designcenter Solid Edge for designing industrial parts and writing macros to automate the design. What I find most valuable is the programming API, which I use the most. It allows me to automate manual tasks, saving time and costs for my clients. Additionally, setting up Designcenter Solid Edge was quite easy and hassle-free.
What do you dislike about the product?
The limitations are the documentation for the API due to which exploring the API becomes a challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Designcenter Solid Edge to design industrial parts and automate the design. It helps me get design iterations faster and saves time and costs with its programming API.
