Great tool to visualise data and find meaningful insights
What do you like best about the product?
It's incredibly intuitive and easy to use; with a little bit of tech assistance, it's also very customizable. Even for non-data-trained people, it can become a simple tool for exploration, data analysis, AB experiments, and much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
The colour scheme is sometimes quite confusing, especially if you are in the same dashboard and have different kinds of reports about the same topic - Mixpanel automatically assigns a color and does not let you change, which can confuse you at first glance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- AB testing visualization and stakeholder communication
- Going deeper into data available and slicing it to find user problems
- Regular monitoring of business and product health

Intuitive Analytics platform
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to learn how to use the platform. Even for non-tech savvy folks, they got onboarded and got productive quickly. This is partly due to the excellent onboarding tour that Mixpanel has, coupled with its intuitive and easy-to-use interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
For power users, the level of precision that Mixpanel offers can be improved. Also, seeing that it's still a startup, the maturity of their developer tools are not quite on par with other tools yet. But I have faith that they will continue growing :).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are looking for a tool to reliably track user metrics such as daily visits, churns, conversion rates. We also wanted to slice and dice the data and have a dashboard to display essential metrics. Mixpanel has done an excellent job for that and more.
The best analytics tool I've worked with!

Mixpanel is the easiest analytics tool I've worked with. I feel like I can always translate my thoughts to the right query that will lead to the most relevant chart.
What do you dislike about the product?
When it comes to merging events and properties, the UI and functionality could use an update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is not about problem-solving for me, it is about turning assumptions to conclusions. Taking the right course of action thanks to solid facts
It's been great to look at data, gather insights and tell stories about features to non-tech users.
What do you like best about the product?
- Dynamically being able to change data
- Flows is a GREAT feature
- The ability to tell stories using data to educate non-tech users.
Haven't used any competing tools, so I'm not too sure.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Cohorts are sometimes not intuitive.
- The ability to hide certain funnel steps would be great. Currently, I have to first delete and then re-add any steps I want.
- User cohorts aren't always intuitive. Sometimes, cohorts aren't available and I don't know why.
- An 'OR' function on funnels would be great. If I could build funnels that start at step A OR step B and compare conversions, it would be very useful.

Mixpanel - What would I be without this tool?
What do you like best about the product?
Filters are the most powerful tool I've seen in years. With this tool I can filter the customers who access parts of the system with email and split by weeks and with that I invite them for hypothesis validation interviews, exploratory researches and much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
The part that bothers me the most in Mixpanel is when I finish a filter, in the list I can't copy any information, I need to select a user and then yes, copy the data I need, if this were done without having to select a contact, it would be incredible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When creating custom filters or performing filters in different moments of my work, I have everything on hand to find clients who use certain parts of the system and with that I can call them for research. I work as a Product Designer and I need these filters to make my job easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is important to take courses and understand the powerful tool that Mixpanel is and what it can provide you
I love mixpanel for adoption and engagement analysis. I learn how my users are using my product
What do you like best about the product?
Easy fast and realtime user interaction tracking
What do you dislike about the product?
Retention analysis is poor, the data seems to be inconsistent plus it doesn't align with the typical retention analysis of D7, D14.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a product manager so I use mixpanel to understand how my users are interacting with the product, what are they liking. Metrics: discovery, adoption, engagement
So much better than Google Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Mixpanel makes it really easy track basic metrics like user retention over 7 and 30 days, average uses per user and activation time. It's so quick to get started, and the free plan is really really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know javascript very well, and so I found implementing some event triggers with Google Tag Manager was user-friendly but not always completely accurate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been using Mixpanel to get better visibility on how people use my web tool. It's been incredibly helpful to easily track different stages of conversion, and has actually shown me some event data that wasn't tracking correctly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Honestly it's free to try, so just give it a whirl. If you already have Google Analytics set up with GTM, just use those to start.
